Restored Historical Farmhouse With Pond And Farm Animals At Mohican State Park

This Historical Farmhouse offers a quiet, country getaway perfect for family and friends. You can experience a true farm setting with chickens, sheep, goats, llamas and more! A huge wrap-around covered porch offers views of barns, 3 acres of pastures, the private fishing pond, and the beautiful Mohican Forest. Inside, there is a king bed in the 1st main floor bedroom, 2 queen beds, a full bed and 2 twin beds in 3 bedrooms upstairs. An optional cottage serves as a 5th bedroom with a queen bed and sleeper sofa. There are two full bathrooms, a large kitchen equipped with everything you would find at home, a dining room with a farmhouse table that seats 8, a huge leather sectional in the living room overlooking a gas log fireplace with a 50"TV on the Mantle. A rustic round barrel table seats 6-8 and is a perfect spot for a card game while watching TV. A large screened in back porch leads to a back deck that looks out over the back pastures with llamas. Trails start in the back yard of the farmhouse and will take you through miles of the Beautiful Mohican Forest and even into the State Park where you'll find a covered bridge, beautiful overlook and natural waterfalls. Nearby, you'll find canoe liveries, horse back riding, zip lining, Malabar Farm, Snow Ski resort, Pontoon Boat Rentals at Pleasant Lake and Amish Country shopping and food.

Friendly and fun

This property was a nice relaxing place to stay. We didn't fill the entire home, but i could see how a larger group could easily fit and have a great time there. There were ample seating spots, places to hide out if you had too much, large yard for games and everything i needed to cook for the family. The host was responsive and helpful. Ash, the cat, followed us on our hike through the woods. We are planning on returning for sure.

It was a good experience for all of us, in beautiful surroundings. The animals were so friendly and the host always got back to us in a timely manner with any questions we had. The only complaint that we have is that cleanliness of the screened in porch could’ve been better. Maybe deep cleaning on the furniture cushions or get new ones.

Family getaway

Love the farmhouse!

Our family of 12, 6 kids and 6 adults, had another wonderful stay at the farmhouse! The kids love the animals and we enjoyed fishing at the pond. The house is well equipped, clean and has so many nice touches. We had a warm campfire and did some star gazing. Big backyard sufficient to set up a soccer net or other yard games. Wonderful memories made!

A Breath of Fresh Air

A delightful place to revive and refresh. The farm animals add a unique charm, and the house is lovely. Close to trails, the State Park, and tourist activities. Highly recommend.

Grandkids Christmas getaway

Our Grandkids asked to do something with us with their Christmas money so we rented the Mohican Farmhouse for three nights and took 7 of them. They fished, played with the animals, collected fresh eggs, and just enjoyed “farmhouse living” for three days and nights. They absolutely loved it!

Relaxing Get-A-Way with Farm Animals and Firepit

My family loved our long weekend visit. We enjoyed peaceful starry nights around the firepit, several activities at or near Mohican State Park (apple picking, hiking, horseback riding) and the hours of entertainment from the farm animals and outdoor cats. The teens and their friends hung outside feeding and playing with the animals. It was also beneficial to have a full-sized kitchen with all the amenities to prepare & serve meals and comfortable living areas to relax at our leisure. It was a much needed respite for our family and I would absolute return.

Fun at the Farmhouse!

This was our 2nd stay at this clean, spacious, well equipped home. We spent our time visiting the animals, fishing in the pond and playing games. The kids named the cats last year and greeted each one by name on the porch. No need to get in the car; plenty of entertainment right on the farm!

Very Cute Getaway!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. We unfortunately had rain (in August), but it was no bother since we could sit and enjoy the rain inside the enclosed screen porch. It was still beautiful and relaxing! The animals were really cool to have on site. The kids got a kick out of it. The property was very clean and the lawn perfectly maintained. We would gladly plan to stay here again. They also have accommodations for babies/toddlers that weren't listed on the site and was a pleasant surprise.

Relaxing and fun

This year we chose the Mohican Farm House for our annual family vacation and what a wonderful time we had. The enclosed back porch was a perfect place to start each day with a fresh cup of coffee. It was fun feeding the animals, we enjoyed them all. The pond was stocked for fishing and we gathered around the fire pit to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. Cozy Winter Family Getaway

Comfortable and cozy home, well-stocked kitchen, comfortable seating and beds, and the first VRBO I have rented for which I didn’t say, “I wish they had a______.” The owners have thought about most everything a guest may need that a host can reasonably provide. And the animals are a special treat. My granddaughters and really, all my adult children as well, enjoyed feeding them and watching their antIt’s as they jockeyed for the best positions to get at the food provided by the owners. An important note: there are barn cats that hang out on the porch but they do not go in the house and my allergic kiddos didn’t have any trouble in the house. We enjoyed the gas fireplace and large sectional sofa where we all could fit and sitting around the large farm table together for meals. The owners even welcomed our dog! I highly recommend this lovely home.

A Wonderful Getaway at a Charming Farmhouse

Our recent stay at this farmhouse was a delightful experience. The house was spotlessly clean and offered more than enough space for our group. One of the highlights was feeding the various animals on the property, which was a fun and engaging activity for everyone. We LOVED the cats! We also enjoyed a cozy fire on a chilly evening, adding a perfect touch to our stay. The sunroom was our favorite spot—it became the heart of our mornings where we sipped coffee, caught up with each other, and enjoyed the gentle sounds of the waking farm animals. The cottage itself was quaint and full of character, making it a true home away from home. We took advantage of the beautiful surroundings with a 7-mile kayak trip, which was both exhilarating and peaceful. Dinner at a local restaurant was a treat, and we also found plenty of charming shops in town to explore. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a relaxing and enjoyable retreat!

Great family vacation!

We rented the house to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. If you are looking for a place that's peaceful, quiet and relaxing, this is the place for you! The house had plenty of space, beautiful grounds and everything we needed. The front and back porches were perfect places for meals, reading, games and naps (note: the back porch can get fairly hot during the day). Even though our kids are older (youngest is 16), the barn animals were a big hit (especially--the 3 cats)! By the time we left, we all wanted to take the little orange kitten home. And the pond proved to be a perfect spot for my dad to do some afternoon fishing (he caught several bass so he was happy). It's clear that Shane and his whole family enjoy sharing this beautiful house with others. We had only one minor issue and both he (and Uncle Jeff!) responded promptly. They also spent time chatting with us, which we really enjoyed. Thank you for helping to make this such a great family vacation and birthday celebration for my dad. Great Farmhouse Weekend

Shane was very helpful. He even gave us a list of local restaurants for dinner. Perfect weekend getaway for my wife and I, my parents, and my brother and his two little ones (4 and 6). We loved the farm and all of the animals. The four cats greeted us immediately upon our arrival, and the orange and white cat was our chaperone for the duration of our stay. All of the cats were sweet. The three ducks were always close by and hilarious. The llamas and chickens were fun to watch, but had little interest in their himan visitors. The goats and sheep enjoyed the attention and were very sweet. The pony was ornery as expected - nice pony, but still a pony so stay on your toes. The pond was the highlight, and we spent our entire weekend outside at the pond. There is shade at all times of day, and the fish were biting all day too. My 6 year old nephew caught 13 blue gill and he showed his 4 year old sister how to fish too - she caught 6. Halfway through the weekend, my niece said, "Can we come back here again?" This weekend was my Christmas gift to my family that I rarely see, and I couldnt be happier. Thank you Shane for a great weekend with my family!
