This is a tiny house with a giant view. Location is great -- walking distance to the popular Giant Stairs trail as well as the popular Land's End gift shop which sits on a beautiful spot. It is small and you use a built in ladder to access the second floor where the bedroom is located, so be aware of that before booking if you have any mobility issues. Also, the bed is only a full size which was fine for us. The roof-top deck is accessed through a door on the 2nd floor and is a highlight of this house. Lots of places to eat out, trails to enjoy (Devil's Back on Orr's Island is our favorite), and if you explore the greater Harpswell area you'll find even more fun things to do and see.
Our stay at the Sand Dollar on Bailey Island was wonderful. We were not looking for anything too crowded kinda off the beaten path. This trip was all about rest and relaxation this property and the Island provided just that. The property itself was exactly what we expected and it provided all the needed amenities for a restful stay. The two other cottages were also occupied and it appeared as though they had a great time as well. The island provided plenty of low key adventures and just enough dining and shopping options. We highly suggest this wonderful little retreat. See you all again in the future.
My husband and I loved this sweet cottage on Bailey Island in the quaint little community of Harpswell so much! Great ocean views, delicious nearby eating choices, sounds of lobster boats starting their day, great sunsets, etc. Words really do not do it justice ... you need to find out for yourself! It's all yours to embrace ... and enjoy!
It made it easier for me to leave knowing we will someday return and I usually don't say that about vacation destinations but this one is heaven on earth. Can't wait!!!
The place was as cute as it is in the photos. The location is great. Sitting in the Airondeck chairs looking out over the bay was priceless (I just recommend trimming the bushes a bit as they obstruct some of the view). The deck was awesome. A beautiful respite after a great day of hiking and exploring the island. Awesome eats at Cooks Lobster House, Bigs General Store, Sundrenched, Fishnet Cafeand the Salt Cod Cafe!!!! I am sorry we missed out on The School House Restaurant as they have a beautiful menu (next time) I loved the peace and tranquility of Bailey Island. It is truly a beautiful place, and the cottage was absolutely adorable, providing an abundance of sunlight and extraordinary views. It was perfect for what we needed. I look forward to returning.
We felt the space was even nicer than the pictures. Flooded with light throughout the day, every view was spectacular. While small it still provided us enough space to use it as a makeshift studio to work on various weaving and fabric projects while being inspired by the environment all around us. It felt perfect for two people and we can't wait to return!
We stayed at the Sand Dollar for 4 nights in October and the view was amazing-especially the sunsets! This was our first time doing a VRBO, but the process went very smoothly. Our place was clean and super cute! The stairs to the bedroom are steep, so it may not work for everyone, but it was perfect for us. Thanks!
Great tiny home style cottage. Excellent location and views.

A stunning view and a great location. The cottage was tasteful and well equipped.
We loved the cottage and the private beach. The rooftop deck off the bedroom was a great place to watch the lobster boats go by and also to see the sunsets! The bay was huge!
