Your own parking space and walkway. This is a special hideaway for two, just 20 minutes from downtown Ocala and 30 from Gainesville and University of Florida. Architect designed, spiral staircase leads to spacious loft bedroom with queen bed, sitting area, and library; windows overlook horses, meadows, trees. Ground floor has glass walls on three sides with full-length drapes for complete privacy. open concept living/dining room with compact kitchenette is perfect for relaxing and meals. High speed internet, TV. Poolside patio includes BBQ grill, glass table and chairs. Kidney shaped pool surrounded with palms is fenced and pet friendly. Grassed dog yard is accessible from dining room, plus you can walk for miles on the surrounding streets and farm lanes. Perfect for relaxing and letting your worries slide away.

A peaceful retreat

My friend and I stayed for a week - exactly what we needed. The evening sunset capped off a day poolside. Ann and Max are great hosts. I highly recommend a stay here for rest, relaxation, and peace. I will definitely stay again.

Horse lovers place

This property was exactly as it was listed. The pool was awesome and the sounds of the animals on the property were fun to listen to the rooster, the peacocks and of course the snorting of the horses. The hosts Max and Ann were awesome and super nice people totally enjoyed our stay if we visit Ocala again we will surely stay here again.

I just love the atmosphere. Every where you looked it was trees, horses, and farmland. It felt like I was taken away to another time...beautiful. Ann and Max were great too and always quick to assist with any needs. Highly recommend.

Cute cottage with a pool

I wish I had been able to use the pool but it was just a little too chilly in December. The cottage is oozing with personality. Lots of color and light. Great spot off the back for my pup. Great communication when unneeded anything. We had a wonderful stay.

Mother and daughter get-away

The cottage stay was exactly as we'd hoped. It was delightfully relaxing to say the least. My daughter and I enjoyed slow country mornings drinking our coffees and watching the horses as they grazed nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed the private pool for lounging and reading after kayaking The Canyons and Silver Springs and after horseback riding with Cactus Jack's. I highly recommend this property for a stress-free vacation. Would love to come back!

Spectacular Week

I had an amazing week at the Pelican Cottage. Anne and Max were so welcoming and shared their sweet rescue dogs Captain and Lady. I felt right at home. It was the most relaxing vacation I have had in a very long time. I am counting down the days until I can return.

Peace and Quite

Nice place to stay in the country. It was clean and enough space for me and my husband. The property was well kept. Max and Anne were very friendly and pleasant. We enjoyed talking with them. My husband loved feeding the horses and playing with the dogs. Loved the morning walks down the road and seeing all the nature, beautiful blue skies and colorful evening skies. The pool was a plus which we spent a lot of time in. Would definitely stay there again.

Sunrise - Sunset , beautiful location away from the hubbub to appreciate nature. No frills amenities

Very Pretty Spot. Not as advertised though; no fuel for cooking on grill, no pots and pans, no key for door , the pool is too cold for swimming. Clean up and construction during my stay. Cable and AC ,Heat work great. The gate is open so no combination needed. Max was accommodating after I complained . Helped with phone ,GPS issues as Verizon went down and gave nice suggestion for hike and lunch spot when I asked.

I have had the pleasure of staying at this cottage whenever I've visited Ocala for years now. It and the lovely hosts is my go-to. My mini-Aussie, Ruby loves it here too and is always intrigued by the horses. Why stay anywhere else?

Check in was easy. Max met us and showed us where everything was at. Max and Anne even met us at departure to wish us safe travels. I’ve stayed at many places and this place offers the most amount of amenities, from cleaning supplies to coffee to odd and end things like sunburn care. Plenty of towels and extra bedding. It is located on the back side of their home, but my privacy was maintained. The landscape around the pool and home offer plenty of privacy. Replies to my messages were quick. They’ve even got two super sweet dogs and the peacocks were a plus. Super sweet people. 10/10 recommend.

Hiddle Gem

Somethings out of a story book. Roosters, horses, Birds, private pool and more. We loved the little quiet oasis away from the city. The owner Max was very kind and let us feed the horses and gave us a few local recommendations. We loved their pups captain and Lady too.

Peaceful Paradise

This is our second stay and each time has been amazing. Surrounded by beautiful pastures and friendly horses, grilling in the evenings and mimosas by the pool in the morning, we had everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Can’t wait to come back.

Quiet, Clean, Friendly

It was a nice, quiet stay (I've never heard any sirens, so what a relief). The owners were very friendly and welcoming. There are plenty of safe roads to walk by: horse farms/ranches for a nice long walk. Neighbors are also very friendly. The pool is private, and the temperature is tolerable in March and likely perfect in April. It's about 40 minutes from Catus Joe's horse riding and worth the trip.... Hiking trails are nearby at the State parks.... as well as canoeing and kayaking. I'm coming back!!!
