Mauna Kea Villa, Walking Distance to the Beach and Hotel - Beyond Perfection!

We are implementing the highest level of sanitization for the villa with our housekeeping and use of E-Mist between guests. E-Mist's patented electrostatic disinfectant application systems deliver safer surfaces, and can kill up to 99.999 percent of pathogens, disinfecting any room in seconds.

Our beautiful Villa offers the perfect atmosphere for your Hawaiian vacation. Most importantly for enjoying the Big Island, the Villa provides the best of indoor/outdoor living with a spacious interior (2,700 sq. ft.) and private Lanai overlooking the ocean.

Inside, you can enjoy two suites with breathtaking views with elegant décor. The master suite is furnished with a king-sized bed, while the second suite offers two queen beds. Both suites have luxurious, spa-inspired bathrooms and access to outdoor patios with lounge furniture. The Villa sleeps 6 with 2.5 bathrooms.

Our Villa also offers a large, open kitchen perfect for preparing any meal. The airy living room invites you to lounge on the plush couches, providing the ultimate, comfortable community space. Entertainment options are available throughout our Villa, with 3 TVs, WiFi a robust sound system and a pool table.

On the private lanai, you can enjoy the private pool, Jacuzzi, lounge chairs, breathtaking ocean views, BBQ and dining. There is really no better way to enjoy the beauty of the Big Island.

There is a walking path from the Villa to the Mauna Kea Resort – offering the famous Kauna’oa white sand beach, legendary golf course, seaside tennis pavilion, hiking trails, spa, fine dining, and Hawaiian cultural events. As a guest of our Villa, we offer the option to join the Mauna Kea Club, allowing our guest to participate in all the amenities of the resort for an additional daily fee of $100. This option provides access to the resort facilities, discounts and charging services to eliminate the need to carry cash.

This villa exceeded our expectations and greatly contributed to our fantastic vacation. Our host was communicative, informative, and friendly. We have stayed at many properties within Mauna Kea over the years and this is our favorite. Gorgeous views, an upgraded and well-equipped kitchen, a pool and hottub, and a pool table made for great evenings after spectacular days.

Country Club Living in a Villa!

We had a magical stay at Villa 12. The Villa has it all, the kitchen is stocked with a large variety of appliances and tools, there is a BBQ, a jacuzzi, a pool, and the views up and down the coast don’t end. It is an easy walk down to the Mauna Kea Hotel to access the hotel facilities. That was my favorite as I could get to the hotel's amazing outdoor bar for the best MaiTai and Pina Colada, in a heart beat!!There is wonderful community space both inside and out, and the location of the bedrooms gives everyone plenty of privacy. We love this Villa and look forward to returning very soon. Thank you for a perfect stay.

Perfect Villa

Great villa conveniently located within Mauna Kea property. A 10 minute walk down the private path and you are at the hotel and beach. House was fully stocked with any kitchen items you would need if you plan to cook at the house. Very clean and well-kept. We had a great stay!

Fabulous Villa

My wife and I planned to stay at this villa for about a week. We were so impressed that after two days we extended our stay for another 11. The access to the beach and Mauna Kea was close enough to be convenient but not so close that we felt like we were in a hotel. The place was clean, very well-equipped and exactly as advertised. The owner made herself available even when she was out of the country and the local management was quick to respond to the very few issues we had (spa issue that was fixed.) There is a lot to offer in this villa so be sure to really explore the place before you buy anything. It may take a bit to figure out the lights, TVs and other amenities but

Really lovely spot!

Really lovely property just behind Mauna Kea resort. Easy walk to and from. Rental managers were great. Good communication and very attentive. Wouldn’t hesitate to rent here again.

A most enjoyable vacation.

Amazing time in Mauna Kea!

Beautiful and spacious traditional home within a very easy walk of Mauna Kea resort. Truly the best of both worlds having a lovely house and access (extra fee per day) to both Mauna Kea and Hapuna Beach resorts. Stunning beach with sandy bottom perfect for swimming and snorkeling right off the shore. Hosts were responsive and helpful. Nice sheets and comfy beds and pillows. Can’t beat that view!

Incredible Villa on the Big Island

My husband, daughter, and I had the pleasure of staying at Villa 12 for eight days and absolutely loved it! The Big Island is such a special place and this property allowed us to experience it fully. The views of Mauna Kea at sunrise and the ocean at sunset were priceless. This property was especially great for us because we had the space and flexibility of a home while also having the amenities of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel within a short walking distance. The Villa had everything we needed and was very well taken care of. Also, Sarah the owner was so accommodating and helpful before and during our stay. We cannot wait to come back!!

Amazing Villa!

The Villa exceeded our expectations! The view is the best, the location was perfect - 5 min. walk to beach. The house is fully loaded - kitchen has everything, bath towels, beach towels, hair dryers, washer, dryer, etc. We had the most amazing, relaxing stay. We always stay at the Four Seasons and we really enjoyed the space this Villa provided us. Definitely purchase the resort pass - my husband played golf twice, we parked at the hotel, enjoyed using the hotels beach chairs and towels. We’ve been going to the Big Island for 25 years and we’ll definitely return the this Villa. Thxs Sarah and Alexis for letting us add one extra day to our rental at the last minute and for the great communication during our stay.

Villa 12 is an exceptional Villa. The Villa is a stunning, and comfortable home. The Villa is very well appointed with everything you might need. The walk to the hotel and beach is 5-7 minutes, very pleasant and a lovely walk. The Villa is perfect for families as well as couples given the layout. The indoor and outdoor furniture are very welcoming and comfortable – perfect for gatherings and enjoying one another’s company. Regardless if you are having a working vacation or a true vacation, there are comfortable seating areas for everyone to achieve the holiday they are looking for. The location is ideal, extremely private and quiet, and the sunsets are right off the deck, and are a perfect way to end the day. We have been to this Villa many times and look forward to returning again.

Disappointing, frustrating experience with owner

Unfortunately we had a poor experience with this villa. The first night we arrived I sat on a bench at the foot of the master bed, it crumbled under me like popsicle sticks before I had a chance to fully sit. My husband saw me fall and thought that it was not for sitting on, but if that was the case why would it be next to the bed in a rental house. Clearly this bench was broken prior to our arrival. I contacted the house manager (she works for the villa owner) asking her if the bench was meant for sitting, she said yes. I told her what had happened the night before and she told me that she inspects the villa before each guest, but didn't specifically inspect the bench itself. The frustrating part was that after returning home the villa owner did not apologize or express any concern for me falling - luckily I wasn't injured considering I'm 64 and have had 2 knee surgeries within the past few months. Rather, we are being accused of breaking/being held responsible for her "very expensive and precious" bench. We are excellent, respectful renters and have been renting vacation homes through VRBO for many years and have never been treated like this. We were looking forward to returning to this villa again, but after this experience with the owner that will not be happening. Disappointing.

Perfect location

- Perfect location for sunsets - 5-minute walk to Mauna Kea and everything it offers - Pool table was fun for family time - Only downside was how loud the master bedroom gets during windstorms. We used noise cancelling headphones at night and a couple nights it wasn't enough.

Amazing property!

This was exactly what my husband and I needed for our honeymoon! Private, on a beautiful property, AMAZING sunset views, very clean and had all the necessities we needed. Most nearby restaurants were part of resorts so if you want to eat at more local places, it’s a minimum 45 minute drive. Otherwise I would HIGHLY recommend.

Beautiful property, excellent accommodations

Very spacious, well appointed, and comfortable 2bd 2 1/2 bath condo with private pool and spa and a lovely view. Mauna Kea resort, a short walk from the condo, is quite beautiful and has one of the best beaches in Hawaii if not the world. Reasonably close (15 min drive) to Waimea for restaurants and in the sunniest part of the island. Having to pick up the (additional fee) parking/resort access pass at the residents service office at the adjoining hotel (Westin Hapuna) was a minor inconvenience but it gives you free run of both properties and you don't have to explain yourself to the guards at the front gate every time you return to the resort. The property manager, Alexis, was very helpful and proactive when Spectrum had a short Internet outage, forwarding the messages from Spectrum about the outage. Highest recommendation and would definitely stay again.

The Villa is surrounded by spectacular views. From the Lanai the panoramic coastlines span the horizon from the front of the house Mauna Kea Mountain can be enjoyed. The Villa is quiet, but only a 5 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of the hotel. The modern kitchen supports whatever lever of cooking you might want to undertake. The outdoor BBQ is always ready for any meal. The pool table adds hours of friendly competition.
