My husband David and I live in the Chew Valley near Bristol. I am a retired primary school teacher and my husband is a retired BT audit manager. We have three grown up children. We have always enjoyed family holidays together and we first came to Corfu in 1999. We loved the crystal clear waters, the tiny pebble beaches and the spectacular mountains that roll down to the sea. We have stayed in more exotic locations but always return to Corfu as our preferred destination. It has always been my dream to have our own villa on the island and now that dream has been realised. Our villa is in a magical location and It will delight all who visit.

Why they chose this property

Corfu is a delightful island that has something for everyone. We spent months searching for a plot of land in exactly the right location;away from the busy tourist resorts yet within reach of our favourite beaches, no more than 45 minutes drive from the airport and keeping Corfu town easily accessible. We wanted the dramatic and interesting views that only a mountain location can give but still wanted to be near a village community. Peace and tranquility was high on the list. When we first visited our plot of land, it was filled with beautiful wild flowers that attracted a host of brightly coloured butterflies (petalutha). The only sounds were the cicadas, the church bell and the bleat of a wild goat and then we saw the views...we knew that this was where we wanted to build our villa. We take great pride in presenting a home from home and making your holiday experience very special.

What makes this property unique

Having stayed in many holiday villas we knew exactly what we wanted to provide in ours. We have spent a long time choosing good quality furniture, most of which has come from England. We have bought pocket sprung mattresses and egyptian cotton sheets and towels to make your stay more comfortable. As I am a keen cook myself, the kitchen has been carefully designed to faciliate use and is extensively equipped, including professional chef's knives, so that cooking a main meal or preparing a light snack is a pleasure. The view can still be enjoyed as you stand at the sink!
The ever changing light across the landscape during the day is mesmerising and at night the panorama of bays and the little inland villages become a show of twinkling lights - perfect for evening dining on the roof terrace.
