Beautiful property and location in a castle! Nice apartment and convenient to train or bus. Our host, Guido provided lots of information and some goodies for our stay. Wonderful!
The property is very well localized -- in a quiet area of Vico, inside a pretty big castle. We've had everything we needed and even a bit more than expected. Communication with property manager was great :)
We loved our stay here, it was wonderful .It’s basic but everything we needed,we made pasta, made charcuterie for fast lunches ,two bathrooms, views are amazing ,spent a lot of time in the gardens . Just a very special place to be!
It was such a nice place to stay. It felt like home. The property has almost everything you could have needed. Very convenient to visit Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri. Close to different amenities. The host was extremely helpful and always answered the queries promptly. I would definitely like to stay again.
This historic castle is a must see. Right in the middle of so many sites and activities. Our host Guido was over the top helpful right from booking to location details, restaurants and sites. Can’t say enough good things about our stay. In its most recent incarnation I believe this castle was an army barracks, so prepare for a quick shower as the hot water gets a little strained if more than two people. Thank you Guido for your generous hospitality.
The location is unique. Vico Equense is not only lovely but close to Naples and the wonderful Amalfi coast. The appartment is cozy.WiFi is kind of spotty but should be easy to fix.Guido sent us a lot of informations and made us feel welcome to his place.Thank you !

E’stato un piacere ospitarvi. Se c’è qualche discontinuità con il Wi-Fi (rara) ,questa è imputabile a caduta di tensione della rete cittadina, non del nostro server che quello generale del castello.
Grazie
We have had a fabulous stay at the castle! The apartment is furnished in style and has everything a family needs. The kitchen is very well equipped, including cups for limoncello. We enjoyed the swimming pool, the orchard of lemons and a fantastic view from a terrace. The private beach is second to none! Guido is an excellent host, quickly responding to any questions and providing recommendations.
Excellent host provided all necessary information beforehand and was willing to answer any questions we had, and find out the answers if he did not know. Very helpful.
The location and the property are beautiful and very convenient for shops, restaurants and public transport.

Grazie tante, siete stati meravigliosi, spero possiate tornare.
My wife and I stayed at our castle by the sea for a week this past September. Our stay was wonderful, our host Guido was very accomodating and communicated with us very quickly when we had a question. The castle was very rustic and had amazing views! Our suite had everything you need for a weeks stay, including a very nice welcome basket of goodies when we arrived! Grazie mille again Guido !! The castle is centrally located and is walking distance to the local bus, train stations, local shops and restaurants. It's a quick 15 mins train ride to Sorrento and was only 2 euros each (one way). We rode along with a bunch of kids going to school to the neighboring towns one morning, it was kinda cool. We would definitely stay there again our next time were in that part of Italy, highly recommended!!
great grounds. Don’t neglect them.
neighborhood built in 1400’s complete with cobblestones and narrow streets. The town is full of picturesque stores and restaurants. If you are tall watch your head. Don’t forget your camera. Best by foot or small car. Use a local guide for Pompei or Amalfi Coast. Louisa at That’s Amore is good
Our host Guido went above and beyond communicating with us the weeks before our stay. Gave us so much great information. The best, most beautiful grounds, pool, and the views were as gorgeous as any we viewed from capri, ischia, Sorrento. The town is completely walkable from the castle, outstanding restaurants. Easy walk to trains (local trains are crowded, especially with luggage, but even us “seniors” managed very easily. Hope to return! Oh, and a shout out to Rosario, for promptly helping us out when needed!
This was a once in a lifetime stay- who gets to say they stayed in a castle in Italy? We originally were looking at Sorrento and I’m so glad Guido’s castle apartment caught our attention because Vico Equense is a much more enjoyable place to stay! It’s a lovely little town with an astounding view, so close to Capri and Pompeii and has public transportation that will take you right there. Vico Equense has some lovely bakeries, gelato, pizza, and a gorgeous lemon grove you can eat dinner in. The castle is spacious and comfortable and provided ample space for our family of 5 with three adults and two teenagers to be able to have some space from each other during our downtimes. There is an amazing outdoor space to relax in and view the ocean below.
We really enjoyed staying at this unique location. The kids loved staying in a castle and using the beautiful swimming pool. We were there in the off-season so I can only imagine how happening this place would be during the summer!
From the moment we booked, Guido was a warm, professional and charming host. From the history of Castello Giusso and Vico Equence to restaurant recommendations and the wonderful welcome basket, everything was set for a great stay. Also, his detailed directions were incredibly helpful and the check in was easy and well coordinated.
The apartment is well located within walking distance of great shops and restaurants. We drove to Pompeii for the day.
The wifi signal didn't extend beyond the foyer and kitchen which made our home schooling a challenge, but that's to be expected in a castle with thick walls.
You can tell that many great family memories were made in this lovely, nautical-themed apartment. We're grateful to have had the opportunity to stay there!
We had a wonderful family stay at Castello Guisso! The apartment had everything we needed (except maybe an extra key) for our 5 night stay. It was warm, so some of us used the pool, and the garden and castle grounds are nice, with a lovely view. There was one evening outdoor event on a Saturday night and the music is quite loud. We enjoyed the music and enjoyed watching the guests, so it did not bother us at all. But if you have toddlers who go to bed early or are concerned about open staircases inside the apartment this might not be the place for you. For us it was perfect. We also loved Vico Equense, and it is easy and convenient to take the local train to Sorrento, Pompeii, or Herculaneum. Be aware that the trains are very crowded so might be difficult with luggage, and you might have to stand. But works great to get around. Vico Equense has some nice restaurants and way fewer tourists than Sorrento, Positano, etc. I highly recommend!
We (2 adults, 3 kids) stayed a week in the appartement. It is very nice, clean and offers all amenities you need to have a pleasant stay.
Really outstanding is the castle itself with an impressive building and a great outdoor area. It consists of a big garden, several beautiful terraces, and a large swimming pool. All areas can be freely used unless there is an event in the castle. The private beach looked very nice, unfortunately it was already closed as we went quite late in the year. Anyway there is a public beach close by, you reach it in a ten minutes’ walk.
I want to highlight our host Guido who was fantastic. He provided us in advance with lots of pictures of the property and information and advice relating to the town Vico Equense. He was very caring and friendly.
Vico Equense is a really nice Italian town, not too crowded by tourists as Sorrento or the towns by the Amalfitana. There is a wide chois of restaurants, shops etc.
We definitely recommend this accommodation and hope to come back soon!
First up air conditioning did not work as soon as you turned it on it tripped the power. Contacted owner said he would send someone around to look at it. Never came. Shower was full of black mould disgraceful . Wifi dropped out constantly. Three out of the four nights weddings were on. The music so loud we had to leave the apartment. Noise on the first wedding went till three in the morning ridiculous. Beds were in very poor condition we had no sleep. Such a shame as it is in a lovely location.

You are the only one to say that. I believe you have a nervous break down.

Staying at Guisso Castle made our holiday really special
Our family had a lovely time staying in this apartment in October 2018. The apartment was well furnished with all of the following provided: laundry detergent, washing up liquid, dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, toilet paper, soap, kitchen towels, bath towels, bedding, etc. We only had to bring ourselves and our beach towels.
On our arrival we found that Guido (Apartment owner) had provided a welcome basket with bread, jam, crackers and a bottle of wine on arrival, so that we didn’t have to worry about having to get to the super market straight away. This was incredibly thoughtful and also gave us a taste of some of the local food and drink available. Guido kept in touch with us throughout our whole stay and answered any questions that we had. He even presented us with a lovely selection of local pastries half-way through our stay. We felt like family friends as opposed to paying guests thanks to the kindness and consideration shown by Guido and his assistant Rosaria.
The apartment has two mezzanine bedrooms, which are connected via a small window with a wooden shutter, so that we could keep an eye on our kids if we wanted to. The bedrooms do not provide complete privacy which was not a problem for us but could be for others. It took us a while to work out how to operate the hot water in the shower, but as long as you run the water at a lower pressure it is possible for everyone to shower.
The grounds of the Guisso Castle were beautiful & romantic. The castle’s facilities were all at our disposal including the graceful reception halls and little chapel. It was not peak season so there were hardly any people around, we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The views from the castle grounds across the bay to Vesuvius were amazing. The Castle has a private beach which is accessed by an elevator and we went swimming several times during our stay. The beach facilities were a little tired but the beach and the views were amazing. There are lots of fish in the water around the break-water and crabs around the rocks which the children really enjoyed.
Vico Equense is a lovely town, full of character, not so many tourists. It can be reached from Napoli airport by the Curreri Viaggi Bus. The station in Vico Equense is one of the main stops on the Circumvesuviana train route, trains comes every half hour going to Naples, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Sorrento.
We loved food atTito's & famous University of Pizza.
Thank you Guido ! Grazi

A lovely apartment in a stunning location
If you want to stay in a charming apartment with stunning views in authentic Italy this is the place for you. The apartment has everything you need and although you don't have your own private outdoor space, you have use of the beautiful grounds and swimming pool. The porters at the castle gate are very welcoming and helpful. We loved Vico Equense because it is not very touristy so we were surrounded by the lovely Italian people.
The castle does hold quite a few weddings which we had not anticipated although we did know it was a wedding venue. We stayed for 7 nights and there were 5 weddings!
We rather enjoyed seeing the different weddings and although you can't use the pool after 5.30pm when weddings are taking place you can always go down to the beach.
Overall we felt very fortunate to be able to stay in such a beautiful place. Guido, our host, was extremely helpful before and during our visit and left a lovely welcoming pack on our arrival (wine, coffee, biscuits etc).
We would highly recommend this property.

Amazing stay with a great host
We travel a lot as a family of 5 and cannot say enough about our stay here.
The apartment is just adorable with an interesting lay out overlooking the sea. It has everything you could need and Guido even left us a Welcome gift consisting of goodies such as wine, juice, milk, bread, crisps, pastries.
The castle itself is gorgeous. Loved the pool and taking the lift down to the private beach.
Guido was an amazing host. He responds quickly and once he knew our dates, he set up a suggested itinerary. I felt we were able to see the real Italy, not just the heavily touristy areas.
Thank you Guido for a fabulous stay!
