Petit Verdus is an amazing home. We had 12 family members ages 2 to 80, and the accommodations were perfect. The quality of the chateau's layout, its comfort, location, amenities, and the preparation and responsiveness driven by Susi and Jonathan is unparalleled. Each person in our party was extremely pleased and impressed with the Petit Verdus experience, and eager to return!

When a dream comes true
This chateau is more than you can dream of!
Wonderful location, superb decoration, incredible rooms.
We spent unforgettable 4 days in this chateau and we will definitely come back to stay longer.
Thank you Susi and Jonathan for making our stay so special. Your dinners, breakfast and overall support can not be topped, they are just ten out of ten. Unforgettable is also your afternoon tea, never experienced something more unique than that!
Looking forward to seeing you and staying at le Petit Verdus very soon.
One more time, a big thank you from all of us!

Enchanted and Magical Chateau
I am still in awe about how beautiful Le Petit Verdus is. Our family spent the Christmas vacation there and also celebrated my milestone birthday. It's so magical. Every room is beautifully decorated and comfortable. Large eat-in kitchen with plenty spaces for everyone to cook together, which we did almost everyday. There were couple nights we also had hired-chef to come to cook dinner, and the chefs were thanking us for letting them cook in such a beautiful kitchen and Chateau :-). Opening Christmas gifts with family in the beautiful living room with toasty fireplace on, soaked in all the warms and the laughters; what an unforgetable and magical experiences in this enchanted Chateau.
Le Petit Verdus Chateau is well situated and convenient to Bordeaux and Saint Emilion which makes it very easy to explore many surrounding areas. This is a great place for family gathering and highly recommended.
Excellente impression. Des chambres très bien décorées sans aucune faute de goût. Des espaces communs, salon, salle à manger, cuisine, confortables et élégants.
De quoi loger 12 convives en préservant intimité et moments de convivialité, dans une atmosphère de grande qualité.
A recommander assurément.

Magical fairytale castle nestled in vineyards
Beautiful chateau located about 35 min for St Emilion and the same distance to Bordeaux. You definitely need a car to get around. The closest town we found was Creon (about 7 mins away) which had a fun brasserie type restaurant and a fabulous boulangerie with all sorts of wonderful pastisseries, breads, pizzas, quiche sandwiches and even rotisserie chicken. The Chateau is lovely, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The Kit is well equipped so making a quick meal was very easy. The last evening there we had a grand finally dinner with a chef that Suzi had recommended. He has done dinners there before so was very familiar with the kitchen. It was spectacular. I highly recommend having an elegant dinner at the chateau. A fabulous experience.

Fabulous Birthday Celebration
This was my first time to rent on VRBO and I could not have been happier! Jonathan and Susi who manage the chateau are absolutely fabulous and pay great attention to every detail. We were a group of 12 celebrating a birthday and Jonathan and Susi organized an outstanding dinner with private chef, several vineyard tours, wine tastings and a walking tour of Bordeaux with their fun tour guide Chloe. The chateau itself was beyond our expectations; from the beautiful interiors to the comfortable beds, the gym to the indoor play room with pool table. Our group is ready to book again for next year!! Thank you Chateau Living for such a wonderful and memorable holiday.

Beautiful property
we went with another couple to celebrate 20th wedding anniversaries. Obviously there was more than enough room. We did not enjoy the pool due to cold and bad weather but every morning I enjoyed a walk through the woods of the property. The entire house is comfortable and we enjoyed dinner by fireside in the kitchen and also after dinner by the fire in the living room. We hired a private chef 2 nights and both were wonderful meals. We went out every day on a sightseeing trip of some sort but this house is so comfortable that a day just hanging out at the chateau would be lovely. I would definitely love to go back soon!!!

Wonderful property in a wonderful location with a very supportive owner and lovely local team
We have now stayed at Le Petit Verdus twice and on both occasions have had terrific holidays. The chateau is both convenient and traditional. The grounds are set in an environment that almost requires relaxation with an outdoor dining space that looks out on a small vineyard and a modern pool surrounded by nature. The local village of Creon is splendid and there are miles of paved bike paths. Finally, Pascal and Nathalie take such good care of you during your stay. Having stayed in many VRBO's around the world, this is our favorite. Thanks Trudie!

What a way to work.
12 of us arrived from around the world to come together for five days and discuss a new work venture. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting - a place to work, talk, relax, have fun, eat and sleep. Anna, Rupert, and Louise were amazing in looking after our every request - many thanks to Jonathan for organising everything too. We all left full of thoughts, inspiration, and most importantly, some of the best food and wine in France.

A magical family holiday
Thank you Trudie for allowing our family of ten to stay in your beautiful chateau. We loved everything from the bedrooms, baths/showers, kitchen, salons, game room, outside amenities (although we did not use most, it was nice to have it available). Your property is extraordinary and well maintained. We were able to enjoy all the day trips you suggested on your website and still had a lot of chateau living time together. Truly a wonderful stay. Warm regards, Felice and Ed from Kaillua

Unforgettable
Everything about our 7-night stay at Chateau Le Petit Verdus was perfect, except that staying there has perhaps made every other holiday destination seem inadequate. We brought along quite the motley crew, 12 in total ranging in age from 2 months to 65 years, and everyone was delighted by the house, the grounds, the location and the overall experience. The chateau is absolutely stunning inside and out, with both impressive amenities and a comfortable, homey feel. Though we didn't expect one or ask, there was even a cot for our infant and plenty of wood for nightly fires. We loved the rain showers, the dramatic staircase, the gorgeous ceilings, the views out over the vineyard on misty mornings and just about everything else about staying at Le Petit Verdus.

WONDERFUL PLACE FOR OUR FAMILY REUNION
We truly enjoyed Chateau Petit Verdus for our annual family reunion in August of 2016. This beautifully restored and lovingly maintained castle is an absolute dream. It is surrounded by woods, vineyards and large grounds with walking paths.
We spend most of our time outside under the large market umbrella. The weather was very warm but the nights were cool. There was no humidity and thankfully no mosquitos. We gazed at the starry night skies and saw shooting stars from the terrace.
The pool and tennis court are fully shaded in the morning, which is perfect for exercise. During the rest of the day the pool, with its vanishing edge and diving board, provided hours of entertainment. Some of us used the well-equipped exercise room and loved the sauna located in the same building.
For our water sports enthusiasts there were great surfing beaches and the unique experience of "Le Mascarat" in the Dordogne River. We drove the back roads and visited small towns like St. Emilion to learn more about the wine region. The newly opened Cite du Vin in Bordeaux is definitely worth a visit. It is a wine museum but so much more.
There is good access from the house to the bike trail in nearby Lignan- de-Bordeaux. This old train track is paved over and runs straight into the city of Bordeaux. It is fast and easy to do by bike (or by long board as one of our teenagers did). The former train station of Lignan is now a small, very busy lunch time restaurant.
Owners and staff took excellent care of us before and during our visit. We appreciate the opportunity they gave us to stay at their lovely castle. Le Petit Verdus was a happy home base for our family with the wide range of ages and interests. We can highly recommend it.

Great chateau in a great location
My wife, daughter and I spent a week at Chateau Le Petit Verdus and had a marvelous time. Take Trudie's recommendations as we did and were pleased with all of them. The property itself is beautiful and well maintained. The bedrooms and common areas are all beautifully decorated, the bathrooms are spacious with modern amenities (wonderful tubs and showers with great water pressure) and the kitchen has everything you would need whether you are a group of three or ten. We thoroughly enjoyed alfresco dining for every meal we had at the chateau. The nearest town of Creon has a huge Carrefour that will supply all of your needs and the town square in Creon has a wonderful butcher, fromagerie and cafes. We hope to return to this lovely outpost wonderfully situated between Bordeaux and Saint Emilion.

Fantastic stay at Petit Verdus
We had a group of 10 stay at the chateau for a week and absolutely loved it. Great location to tour the local wine area (we spent a day in Margaux, a day in St Emilion, and a day in Sauternes) and enjoy everything that Bordeaux has to offer. Trudie was always very responsive to any questions I had leading up to the visit, and the staff was lovely and helped make our stay very enjoyable. There is a tasty boulangerie a few minutes away, and a weekly market in Creon on Wednesdays. The Chateau le Grand Verdus is walkable and makes decent wine to stock up for the week. Should we ever travel to Bordeaux in a large group again, we will be sure to stay here. I would recommend this property to any group needing accommodations in the Bordeaux area.

Beautiful Property
We had an amazing time at Chateau Le Petite Verdus. The castle and the property were beautifully maintained, the staff was as nice and helpful as could be, and the owner's recommendations were spot on. It was a great base to explore both the right and left bank wine country, to visit Bordeaux, St Emillion and the other towns, and to visit Arcachon Bay. We could not recommend this property higher if you are looking for a relaxing and rewarding stay in the Bordeaux area.

A magical stay soaking up history and luxury.
Our family had a wonderful time at the castle. We could not want for more. It is beautifully appointed and extremely well situated for visits to St Emilion, local markets and the French countryside. Neighbouring Grande Verdus winery is also stunning. The owner and the host answered our every question and went the extra mile to ensure our comfort and a fabulous experience. I highly recommend Le Petite Verdus - it has gifted us exceptional memories for years to come.
