Gorgeous Gorge View

Beautiful little cottage with stunning views of the gorge. Such a great location and the hosts are lovely. Will definitely come back again and can highly recommend this accommodation.

Cosy Cottage

Where shall i start, what a lovely, homely and quaint cottage. The hosts Mary and Huw were friendly and very welcoming. The location was amazing to say the least . We had a wonderful stay and will book again for a summer break. Truly agreat little find. Your guests Warren and Vanda

Een romantisch kleine cottage, voor 2 personen. Mooi gerenoveerd en van veel gemakken voorzien. We misten wel de afwas- en wasmachine.Badkamer was klein en het toilet werd vaak nat.Kingsize bed betekent in Engeland groot, voor Nederlanders een smal bed. Het eigen terras was erg klein, net voldoende voor 2 stoelen en tafeltje.De communicatie met de host verliep prima. Ook werden er snel extra handdoeken gebracht. Ook was het toegestaan om in de permacultuur tuin van de eigenaar te lopen, maar je had toch het gevoel om dan in iemands prive-domein te lopen.Cottage lag mooi centraal in het dorp, dus kort lopen naar de toeristische punten.Erg was wel veel toerisme maar daar had je in de cottage geen last van.Kortom: een fijne kleine cottage en een prettig verblijf.

Great stay

Great little place that is located in the heart of Cheddar. Perfect for what we needed, good base for walking and some decent food places within walking distance.... a lot bigger than we were expecting!

Summer Holiday

This is a beautiful property excellently furnished and fitted out and exactly mirrored its description. The location is very good being only a couple of hundred yards to the centre of the village with good restaurants and facilities. It does have a gorge view and a lovely large wild garden. The best property we have stayed in.

The most amazing property, perfect location and really lovely hosts.

Mary and huw are the most fabulous people, welcoming and genuinely warm, both very unintrusive and lovely, everything was covered and we didn't need to ask for anything, the property is clean and located in a prime position with views straight to cheddar gorge, we booked for our 10th wedding anniversary and it was money very well spent, there is access to walks very close in every direction and its a 2 minute walk to the gorge and all its quant little tea rooms and cheese/cider shops, i just can't find enough ways to say how perfect this little gardeners cottage is and if offered we would move in permanently tomorrow, i would recommend this place and Mary and huw as hosts to anyone looking for that something special. So looking forward to our return. Thank you again and much love to you.

Perfekte Organisation und Informationen, sehr freundlicher und unkomplizierter Vermieter

Das Haus ist sehr sauber, die Küche sehr gut ausgestattet, in den Betten haben wir besser geschlafen als zuhause (und das will was heißen!). Einziges kleines Manko ist der Sitzplatz vor der Tür, wo man neben den parkenden Autos sitzt. Aber dafür darf man ein paar Schritte weiter den riesigen Garten des Vermieters mitbenutzen (ein "gepflegter Dschungel") mit vielen ruhigen Nischen, daher absolut gerechtfertigte volle Punktzahl!

Lovely Eco Cottage

In a great location just out of the village but within walking distance to all amenities. The cottage is lovely, very comfortable and tastefully furnished and the owners were very friendly & helpful. I especially enjoyed the eco slant to the cottage - no artificial smells from sheets, use of eco products etc There's some great walks on the Mendips nearby and Glastonbury & Wells are also within easy reach. I can highly recommend this cottage.

Our cozy "home" stay at View Gorge

Charming little cottage in pristine condition with a wonderful view of gorge and village; a very short walk to pubs, shops, and delicious ice cream (over 50 flavors!). Host Hew was most helpful and pleasant. Home garden supplied us with fresh raspberries! Stayed nine days in Somerset, first time, while exploring the area and searching for ancestral roots in towns and villages. Cheddar Gorge Village is delightful, with wonderful history, and Cheddar cheese is actually produced right there. The nearby grocery is well stocked; we LOVED the Warburton's multi-grain bread! Also arranged for special sunrise tour of Stonehenge and tour of Roman Baths; met tour group from London at site, excellent and highly recommend. Attended a local Rotary dinner meeting at Burrington and met wonderful, interesting locals. A special visit was arranged for us to meet with the Rotarian member/proprietor and tour his family operated Lye Cross Farms, which produces wonderful cheeses and more! It is a totally integrated, self-sustaining farming system of which the family and Somerset should be very proud! As we were told, "the cow reigns supreme"!!! FYI, ensuite bedroom is upstairs, but no problem negotiating stairs. Driveway entrance/exit onto very narrow two-way lane requires great caution, esp. for Americans driving on "wrong" side of roads! Also, guests should bring bath soaps and shampoo. If we return to the area would stay again and will recommend to fellow travelers!

A delightful property in a perfect spot

Gorge View is a delightful little cottage, perfect for a cosy stay for 2 people. It is very well maintained, eco-friendly and in a perfect spot both for visiting the Gorge area but also the surrounding area of Somerset. It is in walking distance of all the local shops, restaurants and pubs as well as the Cheddar caves and Gorge. It has a lovely outlook to the front and rear; the frontal aspect facing the Gorge and the rear towards the beautiful garden which we enjoyed relaxing in. The owners are extremely welcoming and helpful with lots of tips about everything you need to know. We thoroughly enjoyed a very restful week away and would highly recommend the property.

A beautiful quaint cottage overlooking the Gorge.

Myself and my husband had a wonderful stay here. Beautiful Eco-cottage, with stunning views and walks from the doorstep. Very cosy and comfortable with attention to detail. A good base to explore further afield. We had a wonderful, relaxing week and will be recommending to family and friends for holidays here.
