We absolutely loved this place. A perfect weekend getaway and we’ll definitely be back. Views of the water from every part of the chalet. Clean and well set up with everything you need. An easy walk along the waterfront to Whitstable but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Cosy and warm for our autumn visit. We can’t wait to go back in the summer.

The place is extremely dated and grubby. The garden to the sea is overgrown and not looked after. It could be an amazing place just needs a good clean and updating. The heating came on full at 4 am. It was definitely not needed but tap was across the settings.

I'm sorry you found it this way and will of course look into the issues. Some of your photos are a bit strange - the table usually has a cover but you've photographed it bare. The striped picture is just a book! There are photos on the listing which show clearly what Beach Retreat looks like - it's a traditional seaside chalet and most guests rate it very highly. The garden is deliberately not cultivated, it is part of the beach environment and includes some rare wild plants. The heating can be adjusted by turning the thermostat knob, there's no restriction on this, and I'm always happy to help guests with any issues on the spot if they call or message me, which you did not.

Superb short break. There was a water shortage across the area, the host warned is and gave us the option to cancel. We went ahead anyway and she made certain we had plenty of bottled water for our 2 night stay. Seasalter is beautiful and the property gives the best views. Loved it and will return.

Stunning property and location

Stayed a week in this lovely property. We were transfixed by the sea view and enjoyed walking along the beach at the end of the garden. The owner could not have been more helpful before our visit.

Idyllic chalet in beautiful Seasalter

This tasteful and well appointed chalet with great facilities is very close to the seafront, which you reach through a nice back garden. Swimming here was great as the shelf is quite steep so you get a good amount of time either side of high tide. The place itself is a pleasure to stay in and we can't wait to come again.

Breathtaking view

We had a wonderful stay in Beach Retreat - the perfect escape from London life and truly memorable experience. The house was cosy and the view amazing. We loved sitting out on the decking and even had a swim in the sea at the end of the garden! Thank you Melinda for being very accommodating with our children and allowing us to check in early.

From the moment we arrived we knew we would be booking again in the near future. From the beautiful, cosy chalet to a location to die for (sand, sea and endless sky to the front and a nature reserve behind) it was everything we wished for.
