Stunning, fully equipped 3+ bedrooms, 1500 s.f. , year-round home/cottage which sleeps 10 but you will be most comfortable with max 8.


1½ hours from Toronto on the beautiful waters of prestigious Balsam Lake in the Kawarthas, Ontario, Canada. Conveniently situated 12 km and 24 km from the towns of Fenelon Falls and Lindsay respectively. Directly accessible is the famous, scenic Trent-Severn Waterway with its many locks and points of interest.

Beautifully landscaped rock frontage with stone patio at the water’s edge and built-in stairs into the pristine waters, where swimming extends from the shore which is about 3 inches deep, to the end of the large (8 ft x 35 ft) dock where it is about 5 ft deep. Also on the stone patio are a fire pit and kid’s sandpit. Large dock can accommodate at least two good-size boats.

Overlooking the fabulous lakefront view is a huge deck, ideal for entertaining, measuring 16 ft. x 46 ft. (736 s. f.) with patio furniture and propane BBQ. The rear deck measures 7 ft. x 29 ft. ( 203 s.f.)

Fully equipped cottage includes potable (drinkable), treated, tested water supply, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, coffee maker, kurig, electric kettle, blender, cutlery/crockery/pots and pans/cooking utensils (for 12 persons), water cooler, large dining table, washer & dryer, satellite, TV, DVD-VCR-CD Player Combo, surround sound, bar, ceiling fans (living and family rooms, one bedroom), central heat , wood fireplace, pellet stove, pillows and blankets.

Canoe and kayak with paddles on site for an enjoyable lake stroll.

Nearby offsite activities include golfing, casino, snowmobile trails, ski resort, marinas, boat rentals, boat cruises, restaurants, go-carting, horseback riding, mini golf, theater, hiking, stock-car racing, harness horse racing, art galleries, canoeing & kayaking and craft markets.

We really enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of seating indoors and out, nice access to the water for adults and children, and the kitchen was well stocked. You might want to be bring your own can opener, though . Our host was gracious and responded to our questions quickly. Highly recommend!

Amazing cottage

Great Vacation

We had a wonderful week with our son, his wife and our grandson. Cottage had plenty of room and was stocked with everything we need. My son has a boat and it was great to have the dock right out front and the fishing was excellent! Situated in the bay the water was so calm, nice quiet peaceful location.

Balsam Lake Gem!

What a beautiful spot! The cottage was clean and well stocked. Communication with the owner was clear and quick. The best part is the view from the huge deck looking out onto the water. There are lots of comfortable chairs and a huge umbrella for shade. We brought our own boat and were able to launch nearby (for a small fee) at Nahma lodge.

My daughter and I had a lovely time at this lakefront property. Weather was perfect for this time of year (last week of Sept.) which allowed for outdoor activities or just relaxing on the deck overlooking the water and watching the ducks and swans. The home was furnished with whatever we required, especially the kitchen. Overall, the neighbourhood was quiet and the property well-maintained. We would definitely stay here again!

Cottage was nice and had everything we needed. We did have an issue with the neighbours big dogs pooping on our yard multiple times and left for us to pick up. The neighbours were very noisy on the weekend to the point we had to go inside for some noise relief. View was amazing and water was clean with easy access.

Relaxing vacation

Upon arriving and stepping into the cottage, we were awed by the view out the large bay window. Balsalm Lake, serene and welcoming was just steps away. The cottage was clean and cozy for us but would be perfectly outfitted for a large family with the extra family room. The cottage owner was helpful with immediate communication when needed. We loved swimming in the clean lake water or relaxing on the large deck. We certainly appreciated the time to relax and recharge at this awesome property.

Excellent vacation property. Enjoyed all aspects of the cottage. Our only negative was it was a little tight with 12 people re 1 washroom. It was clean and fresh when we arrived. Our younger grandchildren enjoyed the sandpit and its closeness to the water. Location was great. The older kids liked swimming and the water sports. Great selection of kids sand toys. Such an amazing week. Thanks to Tanya, our attentive and helpful host, my two kids (and our lab!) and I enjoyed our time. The cottage is well appointed, clean, pet friendly, with rooms accommodate everyone and a gorgeous outdoor space. We took a polar bear swim (late october!) and we're all looking forward to enjoying the cottage and lake next summer. No question, this will be our go to cottage in the Kawartha's. Thanks, Tanya!

My husband and I dreamed about having a cottage on this wonderful lake and now after 10 years and making it our own we are incredibly happy and proud to call it our own. Balsam lake is not only the biggest lake but the healthiest lake in the Kawarthas !

We are currently living in Mississauga, work in Toronto and have a daughter who is 14 and a small dog. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Thanks to all our renters for making our dream come true.

Why they chose this property

The reason we chose this property is because we wanted clear waters on a premium lake with a gorgeous waterfront. The easy access stone entryway to the lake was nothing like we've seen before. The neighbours are wonderful and there is so much to do including an amazing beach close by.
