Charming Victorian House with Panoramic Village Views, Close to Beaches
Sleeping seven comfortably (eight at a push), this four-bedroom Victorian family home in a quaint Cornish village (shop with daily pasties, pub with renowned food, post office, mini-spa) reveals a sun trap terrace for alfresco dining (BBQ & outdoor table seating 8) commanding a panorama over quilted fields. Large private gardens on all four sides (half of it wild, the rest lawned for ball games and sunbathing) of the house adds to a deep sense of rural peace, yet you're just minutes away from Southwest Cornwall’s sea of activities and access to beaches on both coasts. Packed with original features (window seats, fireplaces, stripped original floorboards), you will enter through the back door to a large well equipped country kitchen-diner with space for entertaining eight. There’s a large drawing room with a more formal dining space and an additional cosy living room; a curved Victorian staircase with central chandelier leads to four upstairs bedrooms (two doubles, one twin and a single/small double), one bathroom with roll-top bath/claw feet (and stellar view) and a walk-in shower room with waterfall shower and a separate loo. There's an established guide of things to do in the area, a sea of books and guides, a library of DVDs and a cupboard full of games. If little ones are in tow, there's a travel cot, high chair, dressing up box, plastic cutlery, games, a 'mud kitchen' in the top garden and even two buggies so you don't have to travel with them. Not travelling with kids? None of these items are visible. Parking for circa 5 cars.
10 minutes from the Cathedral City of Truro with its many restaurants, theatre and cinema and 10 minutes from Falmouth with its many beaches, castle, and harbour. With Gweek Seal Sancturary, Eden, St Ives Tate, numerous National Trusts such as Trellisick less than 10 minutes away, theme parks and farms, you will be spoilt for things to do and places to visit.
Bissoe Bike hire is less than 5 minutes away with the stunning bike trail. Riding, windsurfing, coasteering and surfing are also moments from the house.

We had a great time at View Place. Wonderful position and easy access to both south and north coast beaches. Lots of games to keep the children amused and a piano! Also very good communication with the owner.
Had a wonderful stay with 3 children (6 to 12) and grandparents. Well equipped, comfortable and everyone really felt at home. Fantastic views and really peaceful.Village is a 5 minute walk, as is the train station for trains to Truro or Falmouth. Lots to do within the area, whether walking or driving a short distance. Would definitely recommend. Only downside was we couldnt stay for longer!
We had a brilliant stay for a week with 4 adults and 3 children. The house has al lot of space, and has everything you need to feel comfort. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed the stay with family and friends.
Tasmin was very friendly and helpful with tips for family. No complaints at all. Thanks for a great vacation!
Amazing stay in this beautiful and very well equipped house. Children had really been thought of but it would be equally well suited to groups without children. The owner was super friendly and communicated brilliantly but at a distance which is perfect for us. The only reason I didn't give a five overall was the 10am checkout. We prefer an 11 or 12 but that is just personal preference.
Great location and wonderful views over the countryside and Perranwell Station. Property full of character with full facilities. Kitchen a little cramped and fridge relatively small but well equipped with a modern/ period feel. Bedrooms spacious and comfortable with great shower room. Living room spacious and modern complete with small flat screen smart TV. WiFi signal not strong so some intermittent connectivity issues. The dining room was quite dark and old fashioned and like the rest of the house would benefit from modernisation. Hostess Tamsin helpful and responsive. Nice family time was had and trips out to the coast and Falmouth was superb. Been coming to the area for nearly 10 years and have watched our kids grow up into their early teens. A spiritual place. I would rate overall between 3 and 4 star, averaging 3.5/5. This is also relative to properties we have stayed in over the last 5 years.
We hebben eerste helft juni een heerlijke week gehad in View Place, hoewel het weer te wensen overliet (16 en regelmatig regen, maar gelukkig was er prima verwarming!).
We had the most amazing holiday. 3 teenagers and 1 4yr old thought th3 house was so magical and loved all the games and the grounds. A huge surprise was the swing and swing ball!
Us adults enjoyed having a lounge to ourselves of an evening.
Everything we needed was there and the pushchair was used a few times for.tired legs!
We all want to go back!
Beautiful house.and amazing host!
Just spent two weeks here with my husband, daughter, grandchildren and friend, we had an amazing time.
The house is beautiful and so peaceful. The grandchildren had fun exploring the gardens which were secluded enough not to worry about them wandering off.
There was birdsong from early morning until the hooting of owls in the evening. The squirrel made the occasional appearance as did the rabbit.
The view from the terrace was stunning.
Great base for holidaying as most things were only 30 minutes drive away.
We were lucky to have 14 days of gorgeous weather but there were plenty DVD’s and games for rainy days.
We loved our stay. The house is very welcoming with lots of interesting features. We would definitely want to make a return visit to enjoy more of the grounds and surrounding countryside.
Lovely period property in extensive gardens. Lots of extras provided which was a nice touch. Not close to beach which was only down side (but good beaches within reasonable drive circa 20 mins).
Station is walkable so car not essential.
Royal oak pub in village is a gem.
Overall, would recommend highly.
Großes, typisch englisches Haus mit vielen alten Möbeln.
Gute Parkmöglichkeit, toller Garten, schöne Umgebung.

wonderful holiday.
This is a lovely house in a lovely location. There were 3 generations. Plenty of space for the children to let off steam and the adults to have a peaceful moment. Beautiful views from the first floor. A good base to visit local beaches and activities and then return to a peaceful location so that little ones can go to bed early without fear of being disturbed. We loved it.
About the host

This property has been in my family for nearly 100 years and is a much loved, very special home with many memories to a large family. The house has been lovingly refurbished in 2013 and I very much hope guests enjoy their time there as much as we have growing up, with picnics on the beach and hide-and-seek in the garden.
