Large former bakery. A mature garden with lots of fruit trees, terrace with garden furniture and charcoal BBQ. TV, DVD player, Wii, Apple tv; pool table and lots of games/puzzles;books;dvds for when it rains. Full electric heating and wood burning stove. Well behaved pets by arrangement. Situated in the 7 Valleys area of Northern France, located between the medieval walled town of Montreuil and the bustling market town of Hesdin. Just 25 miles from Boulogne, less than 1 hour from The Channel Tunnel, but in a different world.

The location of this property was fantastic, the village was so lovely and there was a celebration the day we were there, even with fireworks! The bedrooms worked very well for the number of people we had there - there were 10 adults, one teenager and a baby and the sitting space was also great for a large number. The garden was very private and we enjoyed a lovely meal outside. There was plenty of plates, glasses etc for everyone. We would definitely use the house again and then less than an hour to the port.

L'annonce parle de vélos qui brillent par leur absence. La propreté est relative, les chambres sont très poussiéreuses. Par contre l'équipement de la cuisine est très complet et en très bon état. Le cadre est magnifique et le logement spacieux et agréable.

Deze voormalige bakkerij straalt rust en gezelligheid uit. We verbleven er met 10. De communicatie met de eigenaar verliep heel vlot, zeer vriendelijke vrouw.

Malgré un temps mitigé, nous avons passé 3 jours très agréables dans le délicieux gîte de Sarah. La boulangerie au charme ancien et à la charmante décoration avec tout ce qu'il faut pour un séjour confortable a permis à chacun de trouver les occupations souhaitées avec entre autre le billard. Les ballades autour du gîte nous a permis de découvrir des paysages préservés. Ce séjour a passé trop vite de l'avis de tous. Nous reviendrons...

Nous nous attendions à mieux

Quelques déceptions : nous aurions apprécié que le logement soit chauffé à notre arrivée ; odeurs d'humidité tenaces ; les dimensions des couchages n'étaient pas celles qui avaient été annoncées. Globalement, le logement est convenable, certainement mieux adapté à un séjour estival.

Gezellig familieverblijf

Fijne plek om te relaxen met gezin met volwassenen kinderen en aanhang. Verschillende ruimten waar men gezellig kan zitten lezen, praten of een spel doen. De pooltafel op zolder is een leuk extraatje van het huis. De keuken is ruim en zeer volledig; heel erg geschikt voor een groter gezelschap. De slaapkamers op de begane grond kunnen in de winter wat vochtig zijn. Veel wandelgelegenheden rond het huis. Het huis staat in een rustig dorp.

Séjour à Embry

Bonjour, tous mes vœux pour cette année 2021. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour....malgré un début difficile. En effet, à notre arrivée une odeur de brûlé s'est dégagée et nous nous sommes rendus compte que le compteur électrique fumé. Nous l'avons donc éteint avant qu il ne prenne feu et j ai contacté Karen. Son père est venu et à dû appeler d urgence EDF afin qu ils interviennent au plus vite pour changer le compteur. Nous sommes donc restés dans le froid et le noir pendant 3 heures. Nous avons eu peur que notre séjour se raccourcisse. Une fois le problème résolu, tout c est bien passée. Toutefois, je tiens à vous préciser quelques désagrément que nous avons rencontré : les toilettes du bas fuyaient, une poignée d une porte de chambre du haut était cassée et le chauffage de la chambre près de la salle à manger ne fonctionnait pas (odeur de moisissures, murs trempés..) A part ça la maison est très atypique et familiale située dans un village calme et reposant. Nous vous remercions et vous souhaitons une bonne continuation. Cordialement

Une belle maison dans un cocon vert...

Notre impression est globalement excellente la maison est "super-équipée", joliment décorée; le jardin n'est pas sophistiqué ce qui ,sous mes doigts,est un compliment. Il y fait très bon vivre tant le jour que la nuit sous un ciel pur et étoilé. On se sent en totale symbiose avec un village où l'on peut marcher et faire de belles promenades. Les seuls "bémols" sont la faiblesse du réseau téléphonique et le manque d'insonorisation dans l'habitat. Toute la famille a ADORE ce séjour....

Superbe et charmante maison - Wonderful House

Nous avons passé un excellent week-end en famille dans cette charmante maison très joliment décorée. Une maison avec un charme authentique mais ayant néanmoins une jolie touche de modernité. Un beau mélange entre le morderne et l'ancien. La maison est fonctionnelle et repartie de façon à ce que chaque personne (si vous venez en famille) ait son air: 3 chambres à l'étage (dont 1 familiale), 2 chambres doubles au rez-de-chaussée (avec vue sur le jardin). 2 salles de bain avec toilette bien équipées (1 à l'étage et 1 au rez-de-chaussée). Tout est pensé pour le confort des voyageurs. La cuisine est très bien équipée (bols, verres,tasses, grands plats, casseroles de toutes sortes,...), c'etait très agréable de cuisiner dans cet espace avec tous ces ustensiles de cuisine mis à disposions. La salle de jeux, située à l'étage, est hyper agréable! Elle comporte un billard et un coin salon avec un vaste choix de DVD. Pour couronner le tout, la maison est située dans un charmant village, calme, reposant et entouré de prairies... de quoi faire de jolies promenades. La maison est située à 20 minutes de Montreuil-sur-mer (charmant village) et à 40 min de la mer. Enfin, Sarah est une personne vraiment attentive au confort de ses hôtes. Bien que nous ne l'ayons pas rencontrée, nous pouvons affirmer que Sarah est une personne charmante et d'une grande gentillesse. Échanger par e-mail avec elle était très agréable, elle a répondu à plusieurs reprises rapidement à nos multiples questions "pratique". Nous avons facilement trouvé la maison grâce aux explications qu'elle nous avait envoyé quelques jours avant notre arrivée. Il est clair que nous reviendrons. Vous pouvez vraiment réserver cette maison les yeux fermés, elle saura vous charmer comme ce fut notre cas. A very well decorated house in the countryside. A good mix between the charm of traditionnal house and practical side of modernity. Excellent for families. Great kitchen with all necessary kitchen tools. Great playroom with billard, TV and a lot of DVD. Sarah is a very kind and helpfull person. The house is easy to find because Sarah sent us all the informations to find it a few days before our arrival. We will come back with pleasure! Do not hesitate to book a week-end in this charming house! You will be probably charmed like us. Thank you Sarah for everything!

Beautiful house

We had a lovely stay at the Bakery whilst competing in an off-road rally. The gite has all the facilities and equipment you need to make for an enjoyable time away, especially when the log burner is lit! We would highly recommend this gite for families or groups of friends as there’s both communal and private space. We’ll be back!

un WE entre amis (4 couples en septembre 2019)

Le séjour avait mal débuté puisque nous n'avions pas compris qu'un boitier à clefs était présent dans la propriété. La personne de contact ne répondait pas et n'est d'ailleurs jamais venue. Il n'y a pas ou très peu de réseau GSM. Le Wifi est bien distribué. La maison est propre, bien décorée et très bien équipée. Elle est assez loin du littoral mais en pleine campagne. Il doit donc être possible d'y faire de jolies balades. Malheureusement pour nous, la pluie a été trop au rendez vous. Je conseillerais au propriétaire de faire revoir l'étanchéité des chassis de fenêtre qui laissent passer quelques gouttes, abimant ainsi les boiseries. J'ajouterai que la douche du rez de chaussée est assez glissante, un accident est vite arrivé. A part cela, on y est bien ! A conseiller !

Hi Nathalie Thank you for your review. It’s a shame there was a mix up concerning the key but I had messaged you a few days before your stay to confirm the safety box position and key safe number. At least you were able to contact me and we got you sorted. We continue to listen to guests so I will urgently look at the shower this weekend. Both showers were cleaned on the morning of your arrival by me so I will look into purchasing rubber mats to avoid any slippage. Thank you for mentioning the window - it’s at this time of year after summer that these problems present themselves as the valley had received an awful lot of rain with westerly winds from the Atlantic. I will get the window sorted this weekend. The house is over 100 years old so we strive to improve without ruining it’s character. It’s such a shame the weather was so wet - there are lots of country walks and there are routes I have left at the Bakery. With best wishes Sarah

Pas de moyen d'entrer dans le logement car pas de consignes.

Pas d'accueil quand nous sommes arrivés au logt. Pas de message préalable pour nous expliquer la démarche pour entrer dans le logt et difficultés pour communiquer car peu de réseau téléphone portable? Sinon logement agréable;manque d'insonorisation et frais à l'intérieur.

Great stay

We had a great stay here. It's a big house with a well equipped kitchen. It's an old house which gives it a lot of character. The house wasn't dirty but wasn't very clean neither. The host is very responsive and helpful. Overall a great location for some days away.

The beams and original stone floor of a 110 year old building make cleaning a challenge and we have emailed the client in a bid to see where we can improve areas. I first visited The Bakery 6 years ago; from the moment my sister in law and I walked through the door we knew we were somewhere special. I've visited every year since and am now lucky enough to own The Bakery. I am a Mum of 2, work in the legal profession but enjoy more than anything enjoy the simple pleasures in life; relaxing; good food and wine always surrounded by friends/family. I come from a big family surrounded by love and laughter. I love cycling, swimming and running; my daughter has a horse and my son is a keen swimmer and boarder! I have owned The Bakery since September 2014 and am continually investing in the house to make it even more comfortable for guests. Please come and find out for yourself ...
