We enjoyed the location, like staying in a garden. The plants and wildlife were a pleasure. We wished the kitchen was set up a little better, maybe some paper towels, cooking oil and a nonstick pan to work with.
Diana was very welcoming and we enjoyed her welcome food she shared with us. The studio have everything we need to have a comfortable stay. There’s no TV but didn’t bother us, we had our iPad to keep up with the Olympic games. Location is great and close to pretty much everything. Parking was great!
we enjoyed our stay here. It's very cute and comfortable. Off street parking is a plus. The nightly chorus of frogs was enjoyable. We would stay again.

Mahalo for your business and we appreciate your very generous and positive feedback!
Mahalo Donna; it was real pleasure to meet you! Mahalo for your appreciation of my studio, for being a neat and wonderful guest and hope to host you again!
Even though it is in the middle of a residential area and not far from many shops and restaurants, it really was like staying in a little jungle! Diana was super- accomodating and had a lot of helpful advice about things to do and places to go. And the fruit she grows on the property is beyond amazing.
Overall, this was a great stay. This yard surrounding this property is definitely very tropical feeling. Hilo had some rain around the time we were there, so the tile floors were a touch damp (not a slip hazard by any means), but turning on the fan dried things out nicely. There are also a few little bugs, but nothing that could be helped by anyone on the island that doesn't have a/c, so you'd expect to see it in most vacation rentals on a site like this. They fit through the screens. They really weren't a bother, but just something to prepare for on your island stay, especially when you're staying near fruiting trees/plants. We arrived after dark, so I was a bit unsure about where to go, but just follow the carport up past the airstream and you'll see the little cottage tucked away. The response time from our host was fantastic with helping us figure that out and also for the duration of our stay. The shower was very nice with good water pressure and warm water. The coqui frogs were a pleasant dream to fall asleep to (even though they're invasive), but if that's not for you, bring ear plugs or a little white noise machine. We saw some geckos around the property too. I'd happily stay here again :)

A truly marvelous oasis...
I stayed there for a little over a month. The studio was amazing. Tucked away on a corner of the property it was quiet, clean, modern and well appointed. Bed was super and the best I've ever slept on in a B&B. The small patio outside was perfect for relaxing or eating and overlooks the beautiful garden. Property location is close to all of the essentials. Shopping center with groceries, pizza, Chinese food, etc was 5 minutes away. Walmart for basic essentials was another 2 minutes further. Beaches and town were around a 10 minute drive and the Volcano was about 40 minutes away. Can't be beat for a stay in the Hilo area!
Thanks Diana for being such a gracious host.

Ken was an ideal and fabulous guest;
very low key, low maintenance, a wonderful conversationalist who was open, friendly, sweet and always a pleasure to have daily exchanges with. His needs were so minimal that he barely left any foot prints during his stay. He left my studio just as he found it; clean and orderly. I thoroughly enjoyed having him as a guest and would not hesitate welcoming him back anytime!
Nice quiet and secluded cottage tucked away in the back of the property, surrounded by tropical "jungle"! After sightseeing, it was nice to return to the peace and quiet of our hideaway! Can not say enough about the cleanliness, as we have stayed numerous resort style rentals that were not as clean as this! The fresh fruit bowl upon our arrival was a real treat! The location was ideal for sightseeing as well as shopping and eating out. We visited Volcanoes National Park and Mauna Kea Observatory as well as numerous beaches and parks! Many restaurants to choose from as well, all within a short drive. The Pineapple and Jackie Rey's were both nice, but each had a totally different atmosphere. Many others to choose from along with a fantastic farmers market for fresh produce. Diana always had a smile and made us feel right at home! Spent two weeks here and hope to return!

Bruce and his wife were humble, sweet, friendly, quiet and some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to host. Bruce pleasantly surprised me when he chose to rake and fixed my driveway after heavy rain had eroded the gravel and he managed to get it done fantastically. I was most grateful. I'd love to see and host them again anytime! Much much mahalo!!
Lovely studio in a jungle garden setting, close to everything but peaceful and private. Well appointed with many small, convenient touches right where you'd expect to find them. Responsive and friendly host. Would definitely stay again.
We enjoyed our stay in this charming little cottage tucked back away from the street surrounded by tropical vegetation. It is great for one or two people looking for an affordable place in the Hilo area. It is a nice quiet location away from the hotel area but still close to attractions. Diana is a nice hostess who saw to our needs, and we enjoyed talking with her.
Diana greeted us Friday evening upon our arrival. Fresh papaya was a pleasant surprise. Accommodations were great. Diana provided us with helpful hints on local businesses and Hilo Farmer’s Market. We would stay with Diana, if we visit again.
Very cozy place for one or two people. Diana is an excellent host who is on site. Will definitely stay here again

Perfect!
We truly enjoyed our stay here! Diana and Juan were very hospitable and made us feel right at home. Their accommodations made our trip much more convenient and enjoyable, from a full kitchen with a refrigerator to cook and store our own meals to providing a washer and dryer/clothesline so we could travel light. Not to mention they sent us on our way with a bag full of delicious homegrown mangoes! Definitely our first choice and recommendation for a place to stay on the big island!

Martin and his lovely wife and sweet son were the most excellent guests anyone could have asked for. They were so considerate, quite and tidy. They never bother anyone, they came and go very quietly, and they left my studio in immaculate condition. I would highly recommend them to any hosts, and they are most definitely welcome back anytime and hope we get to host them again in the near future!
Mahalo for your wonderful review; it’s very much appreciated!

Why they chose this property
My property is at an ideal elevation that provide the ideal temperature during the day and night, very quiet except for coqui frogs providing free nighty singing, very safe, and ideal for couples and also lone guests traveling alone and worried about their safety.
