Thank you Bobbi. I love to host family groups. My house is perfect for it. Audrey
The location was perfect for exploring the Kenai Peninsula. Girdwood is a neat community. The Faulkner house has character and we felt at home. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out or be together for games and conversation. And the views are amazing!!! Our family would go back in a heartbeat.
This Alaskan lodge had a very well equipped kitchen with spices, cooking oil, adequate pots and pans as well as dishes and silverware. There is an island with seating for six as well as a drop down table that will seat another 8 people. The lodge is nicely decorated with traditional Alaskan themed items like snowshoes, caribou antlers, and bear skin. It has comfortable furniture and beds. The check in process was very easy. The lodge has good Wi-Fi and is conveniently close to the main road in town. We enjoyed staying at this Alaskan lodge.

I would highly recommend this place for whatever adventure awaits...
The owners did a great job with communication and ensured we had everything we needed during our stay. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked.
Our group loved sitting around the unique fire place. And the pool table allowed us to wind down after skiing all day.
Again, I would most definitely recommend staying here.
This property is the perfect property to stay in Girdwood! It is centrally located, within walking distance of a local brewery, very close to the resort, and very close to the downtown area - all with a beautiful waterfall at the end of the property. The home is perfectly equipped! It is a perfect place to relax and enjoy all the surrounding area has to offer. We loved it!
Audrey and Win Faulkner delivered a perfect vacation experience for us in Girdwood. The home was spacious and comfortable. Audrey stocked it with every convenience imaginable. She was also helpful with advice about outings.

Our friends and I needed a house with a lot a space, but this definitely exceeded our expectations! The kitchen was beautiful and was so delightful to cook in and created a consant hang out spot for everyone. The centered fireplace in the living room was a nice added touch. We played a bunch of games of pool and overall couldn't have asked for a better location--right in between the resort and the town, both within walking distance. I would recommend this awesome home to anyone!

Great For Small Groups - Not Large Parties
Great house with lot's of space and beds. Very comfortable environment. Great access to hiking and to Whittier. But don't have anyone outside of your contracted number of people over at the house if you have friends or family in town. A phone call will go from an intrusive neighbor to the homeowner to you as the renter within fifteen minutes. You'll end up feeling like a high school student whose been caught having a party when their parents are out of town.

True – we specify in our rules that only the people on the reservation may occupy the house – and that no parties with non-lodge guests are allowed. On a rare occasion guests disregard this rule, as in this case. Our neighbor called us when the church parking lot across the street had six cars in it, all of whose passengers were at our home visiting our lodge guests. This was in addition to the multiple cars in our large parking lot. We do monitor the lodge closely, do not allow parties with non-lodge guests, and have a contract that states this that guests sign before renting our lodge. We have fine furnishings aimed at the comfort of high-end lodge guests and not conducive to large gatherings of non-guest partiers (who don’t know lodge rules). I guess you can’t please everyone.
The house was beautiful with a view of the Alyeska Mountains. The kitchen was very well equipped and organized. It was clean and there were extra linens if we needed them. Audrey was a wonderful host and offered helpful suggestions for places to eat and things to see. It was kid friendly with plenty of sleeping options.
Our party of six spanned tween to over 80 years old, and we all loved this house! It was a great launching point for several trips to Seward, though the local hikes were fabulous as well. And you can't beat a one-minute walk to the Girdwood Brewery and Food Trucks. We would love to stay again.

About the host
Hosted by Audrey or Win Faulkner
My wife and I were born in Anchorage and have lived and skied in the mountains around Girdwood and on Mt. Alyeska since our youth. After spending many years outside Alaska getting educated, we returned to our home state, fell in love and have been raising our family here ever since. I am a general aviation pilot and enjoy flying around Alaska and seeing the state. I run a real estate business and have rental properties in Girdwood and Anchorage.
Why they chose this property
Mount Alyeska and the town of Girdwood is Anchorage's local ski resort, nestled in the heart of the Chugach Mountains just a short drive from Anchorage. Girdwood is a charming town that is filled with huge spruce trees, surrounded by mountains and glaciers and best of all, it snows a ton in the winter making the skiing some of the best around.
What makes this property unique
Our home is just a few hundred yards from the base of Mt. Alyeska. Located on a well kept bike path that leads to the mountain, walking or biking from our home and accessing the rest of the Girdwood Valley is easy. Our luxurious home is very open and spacious, has a wall of windows facing the mountain, and a large open circular fireplace that will make you feel like you are in your own ski lodge.
