What a great place! Very beautiful and private, yet close to where we needed to be while in the area. The hot tub was great after returning from white water rafting.
Amazing property, kitchen was well stocked with anything you would need. The pool/air hockey table and dart board provided fun entertainment. The bed was comfortable, and the hot tub was amazing. Sitting on 9 acres provided great privacy. The pavilion with gas grill, hammock and a fire pit was very nice. It was a great experience!
There is only one word that best describes the location, the host, the property etc... and that is PERFECT..Thank you so much John.. Hope to stay again sometime..Connie & Allan
Wnjoyed our weekend getaway came to visit my mom who recently moved to the area. Cabin was clean plenty of entertainment and my dogs loved hanging out with us around the fire. Would definitely recommend this stay to anyone
The property was clean and cozy. The hot tub was situated on the deck with a peaceful view of the woods. The grill was handy, and there was plenty of wood for the fire pit. The check-in directions were spot-on. We also enjoyed the pool table, though the steps are a bit steep to get downstairs. Overall, it is a great property.
John was amazing and checked in with us to ensure we were able to access the cabin. Amenities were exceptional - we loved the kitchen with fully stocked cookware and appliances, pavillion with a fire pit and grill, and hot tub.
Perfect private retreat. Exactly the right amount of space for us and our 2 pups. We got to do lots of hiking in the mountains, lived sitting by the bonfire while grilling dinner, and enjoyed stargazing from the hot tub at night. Everything was clean and comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed. Thank you for a fabulous long weekend!

We specifically searched VRBO for 2 bed 2 bath cabins to rent in the area. Found this listing and booked. Did not see different options or pricing for only reserving 1 bedroom, etc. We reserved for 2 bedroom / 2 bath and paid. We had contact with host before arriving to get the access information for the cabin. Host did not mention any changes to what we reserved online. Upon arrival to the cabin after driving 9 hours, we only had access to the upper level with 1 bedroom, 1 bath. We reached out to the host by VRBO and left a voicemail & text to the number he contacted us by for access information at 4:47 pm. At 6:10 pm the host called us back and said since we only had 2 people, we would not have access to the other bedroom and bathroom and that he didn't want the extra expense for housekeeping. After explaining on how the property was listed (text a screen shot to his phone) he then offered for extra fees he would rent the other bedroom and bathroom out. Details for this property need to be corrected along with host not changing accommodations upon arrival! Also, the 1 bed and futon we had was uncomfortable and the a/c in the cabin was intermittently working (it is 90 degrees currently). Note to those with allergies to dust; the ceiling fans, beams and other surfaces have a layer. The bath towels should be retired for house cleaning rags. If you are coming to this area, locate a campground instead!

I’m very sorry that this guest didn’t understand the details of my cabin. This guest acknowledged that they had read the rental agreement through VRBO before they rented our cabin. I always follow up with my guest, to make sure that they have read and understand the rental agreement as written. This guest said that both of them had read and understood the rental agreement in its entirety. The rental agreement states in the 2nd rule that if renting for only 2 people that the downstairs bedroom and bath would be locked off. This is also stated in the description, on the VRBO rental site. I do this so that I can price my cabin comparable to a 1-bedroom cabin in the area. We do charge $10 per person per night in addition to the first 2 people. If this guest had told me that this was a problem, right after booking it. I would have issued a full refund. But not on the day of check in, 7/02 the most sought-after weekend of the summer. This guest clearly didn’t read the rental agreement or the description.
As far as the AC, this guest never reached out to me about this problem. However, my Wi-Fi thermostat alerted me of a high temp. So, I had a housekeeping go up and check it out, and clearly the condenser fan wasn’t running. I called my HVAC guy and got it repaired before my guest even got back from their outing. This was on July the 4th, clearly, I care about my guest!
Wonderful, quiet, clean. Great communication. Thank you!

About the host

My Wife and I have always enjoyed whitewater sports. We love the mountains and nature. Since we retired, we have started to explore the more relaxing things to do in the area. We love to ride our motorcycle on the many beautiful curvy roads, looking at waterfalls and the small communities that seem to stand still in time. We still love whitewater boating and mountain biking, so the Ocoee River and other rivers in the area are perfect for that.
Why they chose this property
We bought this property over 30 years ago. We enjoyed camping on the 9 acres of wooded land. This was when we were young and making many trips to the area, to enjoy the whitewater of the Ocoee River. Many of nights were enjoyed with friends around the camp fire talking about the days adventures.
What makes this property unique
This property has so much to offer. The seclusion of the 9 acres of woods, but yet so close to everything that you need. There are over 6 restaurants, a Grocery, Dollar General and Gas with in 2 mi. You also have over 6 Whitewater Outfitters within 2 mi.
