Rui was an attentive host, met me upon arrival to show me the apartment and responded quickly to a couple matters that came up. The apartment is clean and well equipped. The neighborhood is very quiet and an easy walk to groceries, dining and shopping.
The host Rui was so communicative and was patience as I had some travel disruptions with airline delays, and some challenges getting cell coverage from a Portugal based carrier. The unit is very functional and the outdoor space was really relaxing for a breakfast or evening glass of wine.
Rui met us upon arrival. Had fruit and a bottle of wine for us. I had made a mistake on our arrival and departure by a day and he was able to accommodate us with no problem. We sat in the garden and really enjoyed the space. Location was a five minute drive to downtown so it was nice to have a peaceful place after a busy day of sightseeing.
The owner met us at check in and was very responsive to any of our requests. The apartment was exactly as described, in a lovely old home and a residential area. A nice walk to city center and close to the metro. We enjoyed the back garden as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Marao. The very attentive host welcomed us warmly and left us a bottle of wine and some oranges. The holiday flat was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we needed. You can walk to the centre of Porto in 25 minutes. The flat’s garden offered a pleasant escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Our stay at Rui’s property was seamlessAnd outstanding. From my first contact with the host communication was outstanding, The host was very accommodating, flexible and available for check in which was much appreciated. The apartment was well equipped; plenty of coffee and some bottled water, wine and fruit. He provided a very thorough orientation to the area and the flat as well.I have not ever had a more accommodating and hospitable host.Highly recommend.
The rental was very well maintained with everything a person needs. It was also very clean with a lovely garden. However, for us, being elderly seniors, we found it too far to walk to the city center.
The host couldn’t have been more accommodating. Introduced us to the property himself and showed up early to let us in. Nice location especially if you want to stay out of the touristy section. Recommend Casa Cartola just up the street for dinner.
The host was very friendly and welcoming. The bottle of wine, bottle water and grapes were very good. Good walking distance to local coffee, local restaurants and historic center. Sleep accommodations were good.
Lovely stay with a quiet outdoor space, 2 bedrooms, and a full kitchen. It is located in a good spot as you are near the metro and within walking distance of the sites. Rui was a great host and very helpful!

A very helpful host and a comfortable two bedroom house with everything we needed for a four day stay. Very quiet neighborhood and a nice garden. A bit of a walk to the metro station but doable. We would be happy to return.
We stayed here for two nights. Great location to historic area. Parking is tight, so paid to park at hotel around the corner. Rui was very helpful. suggestions.ingiving
My husband and i had a wonderful stay in Porto. The VRBO manager welcomed us as we arrived and explained everything about the apartment. There was a bowl of oranges in the kitchen along with a bottle if water. We were happy with our stay and would stay here again while visiting Porto.
We loved staying at Rui's place. We were able to walk downtown every day and enjoy the hustle and bustle but then return to the apartment located in a very quiet neighbourhood. Being just a few minutes walk from a good sized grocery store was an extra bonus. Thanks for everything Rui!

the property was small but very well located. water pressure was low for showers. It was very clean and provided everything we needed. The host was very easy to contact & respond
A very punctual host with communication and easy to reach. A very nice place to stay and loved the fact that it had a nice washing machine and lots of space to hang dry our clothes (after our Camino de Santiago bike ride), and plenty of pods for the coffee machine:-)Also, definitely recommend Casa Cartola restaurant and cafeitaria Nandinha bakery within the walking distance as long as don't mind a bit of hilly walk:-)
