We loved the cabin! It was a real treat to stay there. It was designed for comfort and complete relaxation. Clean and beautifully decorated! The location on Esopus Creek is amazing and the views are stunning! The cabin was a little hard to find with GPS but our host Mike guided us there with no problem. We would highly recommend this cabin for a quality stay when in the Hudson River Valley!

Very secluded, impeccably kept house perfect for our little family. We hit the farmers market, opus 40, Ashokan rail trail, peekamoose blue hole, and enjoyed the kayaks and the creek on the property.

Everything was perfect. The view was mesmerizing. The cabin was spotless and well laid out. There is a great hiking trail on the property. Our only regret was that we didn't book it for a longer stay. Just outstanding.

We are thrilled that you had such a nice time here at cabin. We were delighted to have both…and the pooches. Thanks for looking after the place during your stay. It is so much appreciated. Hope to see you again sometime soon. AAA guests, always welcome here at Creekside Acres.
A hand-crafted log cabin, with a whimsical bear-themed decor, perched high above the Esopus Creek. About 80 steps down to the water where you can kayak on the creek and observe wildlife (swans this time, three years ago we spotted an eagle), drift between two heavily wooded steep banks, one side a sheer rock face. Close to the beautiful town of Saugerties. Listen as the lonesome whistle of a passing train lulls you to sleep. Owner lives next door and is a delight (also very responsive). Our third visit and not our last.
The cabin is beautiful, well-kept, and nicely equipped. The view is spectacular! The hosts are thoughtful and very accessible. Highly recommend this property!

Thanks for coming to visit us! We are glad you had a nice stay. You left everything so nice, and we really appreciate that. Hope to see you again sometime in the future. AAA+++ guests. Always welcome here at Creekside Acres.
This was our second stay at the log cabin. It is so cozy and well-appointed. The covered porch is our favorite part of the house. It is a great place to sip coffee, read a book or have an evening cocktail and dinner. Our dog really enjoyed hanging out there! The host, Michael, is such a nice guy. I highly recommend this property.
Second time staying here and just as pleased. Cabin is pristine upon arrival, having a light scent of maple as you enter. Not sure yet if we prefer spring or autumn, but would love to spend either or at the cabin. Mike & Joanne are fantastic.

About the host
Hosted by Michael Vallarella
Why they chose this property
This property has been the culmination of a life long dream and a lifetime of work. Since the age of 5, I grew up as a summer and weekend kid on the adjacent land where my parents had a cabin. The property where this log cabin sits had belonged to friends of my parents.
Since the age of 14, I told them that I dreamed of living on this site and that I would do whatever it takes to buy it someday. What else could a teenager say. That was in 1978, and I had spent the subsequent 21 years pleading with them let me buy it. Of course, I didn't have any money at the time, so it was becoming a more and more elusive dream. While my parents' site was beautiful, as are all sites on the Esopus Creek, this had view to die for. One that looks all the way down the creek, for miles. Finally, in 2000, at age 35, the previous owners sold me the land and held the mortgage, thus, putting my dream within reach. This log cabin was completed in 2005. I built it myself over the course of 3 years. My wife and I have lived in it full time since 2008 and have loved every moment here. We have since built our main house adjacent to this log cabin and have decided to offer it to guests that wish to enjoy the same beauty and peacefulness of this very special little corner of the world.
What makes this property unique
Unlike most lakefront properties, there is no one on the other side. Just nature. The home itself is completely hand built with hand peeled logs. And the sounds of the Forest at night are beautiful. Like jet skiing or fishing with your own boat? The village has a public beach with public ramp to put your watercraft in the water and bring it on down the creek to the cabin. Also, a great way to go from the cabin to the village by boat. Leave the car back at the ranch and cruise by water into the village.
