Sara as a host was fantastic. Sara touched base to make sure everything was okay and let you know she was there is you needed her, and then left you to enjoy your stay,The house itself is wonderful. As a party of 11 and a dog, there was more than enough room to accommodate us all.The garden was gorgeous, the kids and dog enjoyed running around, and the decking area was perfect for the adults to sit, relax and enjoy the gorgeous weather.I would happily recommend this house for a getaway.

We had the most wonderful stay at this lodge for a hen do, and it honestly couldn’t have been more perfect. From the moment we arrived, the place felt warm, welcoming, and beautifully set up for a group getaway.The lodge itself was spotless and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed!We chose to book extra activities, these being spa treatments, afternoon tea and a private chef which I would highly recommend! All were amazing! Sara was a fantastic host throughout – really friendly, helpful, and great at communicating before and during our stay. They made booking and planning our stay so easy! Would highly recommend Woodsome lodge!

The house was clean, warm, beds comfortable, lovely amount of space for us all.Sara even left Christmas gifts for our children and the house was decorated ready for Christmas with mince pies and other treats. We had a lovely stay and will be back. Lots more to explore in the area.

Beautiful house and great location!

Beautiful house and great location! The house looks even nicer in reality than it does on the photos, lovely and cosy and clean. Great location and a visit to Harvey’s Bar & Kitchen is a must too! Thanks for a great stay!

Family Getaway

Lovely Hen Do Weekend

The property, amenities and the attention to detail were all excellent. Really good communication from the host both before and during the stay which. Made to feel welcome and perfect for a wholesome hen do weekend! Really great location for Harvey’s and Holmfirth Vineyard. Gorgeous views of the countryside from the property too!

Family weekend

We wanted a little weekend away as a family as this group was 3 generations. The stay was delightful and the property was really clean. The kids all enjoyed it which was the main thing. The host communicated very well throughout the process from enquiry all the way to check out.

Lovely place

Lovely, relaxing time… loads of nice walking places near by and a splash land half hour drive away the kids loved…. The scullery was one of the nicest places I’ve eaten (15min drive away) …. Sara (the host) made us feel very welcome… the house itself was lovely, would definitely stay there again. Thank you

New year celebrations

Just home from a 3 day stay at Woodsome Lodge. We had a great time celebrating the new year in! The house is lovely & comfortable & was perfect for the 12 of us. It is easy to find & the owner is very helpful if you have any queries. Would definitely book again!

Christmas in Yorkshire

A group of 13 adults and 2 children and 3 dogs from County Durham, Derbyshire and Essex met for a Christmas break. Wonderful house, lots of space inside with an outside hot tub and and great garden xx

One Hundred and Ten

The house was clean and bright with plenty of space and in a good position to visit places round about. With the children's games room, large garden and hot tub all ages were well entertained. The host was brilliant!

Early Easter Get-together

Six cousins 8 years and under, a sixth birthday celebration and 7 adults (from as far apart as Scotland and London) made for a wonderfully busy week. Glorious weather, Easter egg hunting, den building in the woods, a visit to climb Victoria Tower at Castle Hill and a visit to RSPB Oldmoor, capped off with a relaxing time in the fantastic hot tub. Both house and garden were perfect - a great time was had by all!

Hen Party

Me and my family stayed at the Woodsome lodge and the experience was just amazing. Location was perfect, the lodge was spotless clean and the beds were very comfortable. Sara was easily accessible and responded promptly whenever I needed. She was very accommodating and welcoming and left us a welcome cake and choc ices upon arrival. Will definitely be coming back to stay for any future events

Nurses 1979

This property is absolutely beautiful Spotlessly clean, all amenities as stated, hot tub is a bonus. Perfect location, 2 pubs within walking distance. We are a group of old nursing friends who meet up every year, this house was perfect, Sara kept me updated throughout the booking by e mail which was very kind of her. I would rate this house 5 star.

Absolutely perfect!

What a lovely place! The house is fabulous and very spacious. We were 3 families and had ample room for all. Very clean and everything there as essentials. The hot tub was a bonus, amazing and well looked after. Anything to improve? Absolutely nothing, a superb property in a wonderful area.

Our stay was perfect. We were celebrating my mum’s 70th and Sara went out of the way to make Mum feel special. Upon arrival Mum was greeted with balloons , a cake and a personalised engraved wine glass . The house is perfect for families of all sizes. We had a mixtures of elderly great grandparents, Nan’s and grandads , mum’s and dads, nieces and nephews and a 4 month old and the house is ideal. There is enough space to have some quiet time but also plenty of space to get together. The lodge was also spotless and for someone who is very particular about cleanliness I don’t say this lightly but it was immaculate. Would definetley recommend a stay here

What a weekend!

We booked Sara’s property for a hen do. Communication from Sara was excellent from the very beginning, answering any of our queries and also making recommendations to give the bride a hen do to remember! All the hens raved about the house, how comfy it was and we all loved the pamper treatments, cocktail making and private chef. It’s a wonderful space with a fabulous host and I am sure many of us will be back!! Thank you Sara!

Perfect New Year Break

We had a fantastic stay at Woodsome Lodge for 4 nights over the New Year period. Sara couldn’t have been more helpful and the lovely touches when we arrived only added to this. The house itself was spotless and the lay-out for a group of 6 adults, 5 children and 1 dog was perfect. We used the hot tub every day and so the washing machine and tumble dryer provided was great for all the towels we got through! The location couldn’t be better with a short stroll to the local pub or to the scrummy Harvey’s restaurant. We also ventured to castle hill, the National coal mining museum (very interesting 140m deep underground tour for only £5 pp) and into town for an escape room…..all journeys taking less than 15 mins by car. A perfect New Year break for all the family.
