Sundancer is for re-discovering love and adventure! It is a couples' paradise, and is also perfect for a personal retreat.
The Comanche were quite active up and down this part of the Brazos when the earliest settlers arrived around 1850, until the Commanches' eventual conquest by the Texas Rangers and their Colt pistols around 1870; we have found lots of flint and some arrowheads on high places here. Going further back in history, the Fuller’s Folly River Ranch has an abundance of petrified wood; they say that if you have fossilized sea shells you were under water, but if you have petrified wood you had land creatures. Hunting for petrified wood is a fun adventure here. (But leave them for the next person to discover!)

We had the most incredible stay in the African tent on the ranch in Weatherford, Texas! It was the perfect mix of adventure and comfort — true glamping. We fed the horses and donkeys, relaxed by the fire making s’mores, soaked in the hot tub under the stars, and enjoyed breakfast on the balcony overlooking the waterfall. The tent itself was beautifully decorated with every amenity you’d expect in a home, but with the charm of being tucked away in the woods. The shower was absolutely gorgeous, the setting was peaceful, and we loved exploring the river and small ponds around the property for fishing. It was close to everything we wanted to do, yet still felt like a private escape. The caretakers were amazing — so friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend this glamping experience to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable getaway!
Beautiful property with lots to do and see. Private section of the Brazos is amazing. Everything in the tent was perfection! Awesome to go hiking and come back to AC and amazing shower!! Will definitely be back to check out the other houses there.
Sundancer was fantastic! The tent was better than expected and the nature was amazing. There were so many things to explore that each time we were amazed! Would highly recommend and will be coming back!
It was very clean and private. The wooded area was great. We saw deer every morning and evening. It’s a short walk or drive to the private river access which was amazing! There was gunfire every afternoon, which was not great, but not sure if it was on the property or someone

Jennifer,
We’re so glad you had a good time and saw some deer! We’re all about connecting people in nature.
Unfortunately, there are other ranches in the area and we sometimes hear gunfire but it was not on our property, we don’t allow hunting while we have guests.

Even in record breaking heat, we stayed cool!
The Sundancer was beautiful. We especially enjoyed watching the waterfall. It was so hot out (107+) that we stayed inside more than we planned, but that was no problem. Even with the heat, the tent was comfortable.

Glamping, Texas style! Everything’s bigger!
Great stay at Sundancer! Bill has really done a great job with this glamp. From the outside amenities to the inside decor, we felt right at home here. Not to mention a Waterfall On Demand! Bill also took the tome to sit with us and let us pick his brain on the process and challenges of pulling together this unique vacation experience. A tent, you might question? Yes a tent!! But not like any you have stayed in before unless you have been on a luxury African Safari. Solid, secure, comfortable and yet perfectly immeresed in the natural surroundings. We got the wood fired tub up to 102 and it was all we needed to get us relaxed and ready for a great nights sleep. Full bath with great shower, a great meal cooked on the grill, and a nice hike down to the river rounded out our two night stay. Thanks Bill, you certainly did it right!

Skip- I loved reading this, it's exactly the experience we want for our guests! Thank you. Bill
We arrived just as darkness fell. It would have been nice to have some outside lights turned on for us. The deck railings are showing signs of wear, many of the ropes on the railing were broken and wood warped. Also it would have been nice if someone had swept the deck area and the outdoor seating area prior to our arrival. I had to do that myself before we could enjoy the outside areas. Be aware the "kitchenette" is really just a bar area with mini fridge and tiny sink & microwave but we made it work. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Once we figured out how to turn on the waterfall (we hadn't realized from the pictures or description that it was a water feature on a timer) we enjoyed that as well. The shower was lovely and the bed adequate. We didn't use the hot tub at all because the water looked dirty and having to build your own fire to heat it seemed a bit daunting. What we most enjoyed during our stay was our long walks (1.5 miles) each day to the river. The land around the property itself is beautiful.

The hike to the river is amazing. As to the other concerns, as you know the tent is tucked into a beautiful thick forest, and the trees are shedding leaves right now -- which is beautiful (and my favorite time of the year!)-- but it's impossible to keep the leaves swept up. We do change the water in the soaking tub after every guest. Glad you enjoyed your visit! Bill
Beautiful location with luxury tent/cabin and the most awesome fire heated wooden soaking tub. Waterfall and trees galore with nature all around. We will be going back in the future! Plus check out their Hobbit House rental. Such nice owners to deal with.
Sundance is absolutely gorgeous, comfortable and wonderful! The sounds of nature are breathtaking and we are definitely returning!!! Fantastic location and owners!
"Luxury tent" doesn't say enough to describe this place. It is absolutely the most charming, well-thought-out, lovely little hideaway in the woods I could ever imagine. Staff was instantly responsive to any questions. We had fresh eggs from the barnyard chickens for breakfast every morning. We are planning to visit again in springtime!
This property offered so many places to relax and unwind. The scenery and the river was breathtaking.

Not what I expected but not bad
When searching for a place we did a filter for waterfront. This place had no waterfront only a waterfall in the back that is man made. Place is cute but when my wife walked in she said was someone murdered here?….. there are weird red stains on the ceiling most likely from the trees but still looked freaky. I thought it would be more secluded also but there is another rental right around the corner and we could hear them. Found it hard to get to the water due to all the rain we had and that was one of our main things we wanted. We honestly thought we would walk out and be on a creek from looking at the pics. It wasn’t a bad stay at all just not what we expected, especially for the price.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this "tent" where we could hear and smell the surroundings while we relaxed inside and out. The property was exactly as advertised and more. There were special touches everywhere to make the stay more enjoyable. Be sure to bring wine and cheese with you.
Property exactly as described. The Sundancer safari tent was amazing, great A/C and heat. The hot tub was so easy to use, I think I'll buy one soon! River access is good with sandbars and waist deep water. Great days on the beautiful Brazos.
We had a wonderful time with our grandchildren at Sundancer. The pictures and description were spot on and we were able to enjoy all of the parts of the property. Our grandson had so much fun finding the squirrels that were placed around the property - the rock climber was his favorite! We explored the barn, built fairy houses, fed the animals, fished, used the soaking tub and explored everyday. Great memories for sure!

Robert- we designed Sundancer and the use of the entire ranch with families in mind. So glad it worked for you and the grandkids! Bill
I was nervous to have a “glamping” vacation, but this was just what I needed. We utilized the whole property. The waterfall is set on a timer, so be sure to find the button to turn it on. It got a little cold at night even with the heaters, but there is a space heater to utilize, which we did! We brought a griddle to make breakfast, but the grill would still have been perfect to use, and we sure did! Altogether a great trip

What makes this property unique
I think it's the river that makes this so special. And the barn.
