By being close to the great ocean and its many fish, Mærvoll used to be an active fishing village. Fishermen from the whole area would come to fish here. Today, Mærvoll stands out as the perfect place for sport fishers wanting great fishing conditions in one of Lofoten's most dramatic coastal landscapes. The great ocean and the rich fishing grounds gives the sport fishers many opportunities for catching fish. On days with good weather you can fish out on the open ocean. If the weather is not so good, fish in the fjord outside the house. An 18 ft boat with an 8 hp motor and life jackets for rent. The boat is moored at the dock of the house. You can rent a 28 ft boat with 78 hp motor, cabin and local skipper for NOK 4000 for 5 hours. Fishing gear for rent. An extra 20 ft boat with 60 hp motor, sonar, gps/chartplotter is available for rent. The boat has a closed cubicle and and electric pump for cleaning. Boats are only available between May 1st and October 2nd. The tenant is responsible for the boat! There is an Angler's house with heating, water, freezers, fish cleaning tables, vacuum packing machine and band saw. Free access. From the cottage and the terrace, you have magnificent views of the fjord and the mountains. Enjoy the fresh salty sea air with your family or fishing companions, while sitting in the warm bath barrel by the house. The price per heating of the barrel is NOK 250. Satellite dish with 40 channels, of which many are international. The area is child-friendly and suitable for playing and walks along the sea.
