The Aylesbury Cottage - Part of the Hinton Grange Collection

Beautiful 1 bed Cotswold cottage with dedicated fast, reliable and free Wifi and a kitchenette.

Ample parking, secluded location, with private entrance.

Ideal for those commuting or visiting the nearby cities of Bristol or Bath, due to our location just off Junction 18 of the M4. Don't be fooled by our close location to the M4 however, our six acres are an idle of mature trees, a lake and open spaces, set within the small hamlet of Hinton. We are also lucky to have an award winning countryside pub a short stroll from our location.

The Aylesbury Cottage is one of four self catering accommodations set within our beautiful grounds of matured countryside gardens that are bursting to the seams with the best of the UK's wildlife.

The Aylesbury Cottage will be your home during your stay you will have complete privacy, however we live on site in the main house, so if you need anything please just ask, we are very sociable but will leave you to enjoy your stay in peace unless you want us!

Superb location

Best part of our holiday was the location. We couldnt get over how near it was to Bristol and Bath, and other beautiful places in Cotswold. Really enjoyed our staycation, very chill! The bed was very comfy, and the kitchen was well equipped. Angela was very nice and accomodating during our stay. Would definitely go back to Hinton Granger in the future xx

Wonderful weekend

Beautiful quirky accommodation with the highest bed I've ever slept in, made use of the steps provided! So comfy I wanted to take it home. Lovely touch of the gifts (bread, milk, coffee, jam, butter & wine) Angela was friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful gardens to explore with our dog, just avoid the geese 😅 local area nice & lovely pub 5 mins walk away but you need to book if you want food as it's always busy. Just book, you won't be disappointed!

Great place shame about the weather!!

Our holiday was a total wash out due to the appalling weather. Hinton Grange and the only reason we didn't go home earlier. Angela and family (including their dogs) made us very welcome and feel nothing was too much trouble. It was very clean and well equipped with a good welcome food package waiting for us. Set in beautiful grounds that you and your dogs can wander freely, just keep clear of the goose!! A great local pub in easy walking distance and lots of public footpath walks in easy reach aswell. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Short break

Myself my Husband and our small dog really enjoyed our Friday-Monday stay in The Aylesbury Cottage at Hinton Grange. Angela is so friendly and made us feel very welcome, she is on hand if you need anything and gave us some good tips of places to visit and explore, including The Bull pub which is 5 minutes walk away, nice food and friendly staff. The cottage was fully equipped and comfortable and there were some lovely treats Angela had supplied, we loved the homemade bread still warm from the oven !! Thank you so much for a great stay, hope to see you again soon. X Lynn, Graham & JJ.

Gorgeous cottage and friendly hosts

We have just stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 dogs and it was a delight. On arrival we found an information booklet and the kitchen had been stocked with bread, butter, jam, milk, chocolate and wine! The place was spotless. The 4 poster bed is extremely comfy and there is ample storage space. The laundry room on site has a freezer if you need one and there is a fridge in the cottage kitchen plus plenty of pots and pans If you want to cook on the hob or in the oven. The owners are great and check you have everything you need and our dogs loved playing with their great swiss mountain dog Star, exploringthe ground and meeting Guinea Pigs. We didn't have a long list of dos and don't for the dogs which was great. Ours slept in the lounge area. The local pub is very dog friendly and the food is good. Will happily stay here another time

Ideal for both a short and longer break

First of all wish we'd booked for longer than our 3 nights - could easily have stayed a week. On arrival there was a really friendly welcome from Angela who clearly has an eye for detail - there was a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge, bread, milk, butter and a selection of teas/coffee waiting. The cottage itself was immaculate - there is an open fire and wifi. The surroundings are lovely and relaxing and the nearby pub serves excellent food. We stayed here as we we're visiting relatives in nearby Bristol but we will definitely be back for a longer stay - and in the winter so we can make use of the open fire (cottages closed out of season but studios open). Both myself and my wife highly recommend staying here.

About the host

Hosted by Angela Gent

Host profile image
My husband and I purchased Hinton Grange in 2011 after falling in love with the romance of the place, even though it had fallen into disrepair and being sold though the receivers. We knew we wanted to bring up our family here and also knew we could love it as a home first and foremost, whilst also sharing it with others by adapting it from a hotel into holiday cottages. Hinton Grange is perfectly situated between Bristol and Bath and Hinton itself although small has a fabulous social scene centered around the ever popular local pub - The Bull at Hinton. I spent my career before children in both the leisure industry and corporate sales, both gave me the skills required to run a holiday cottage company alongside (I have been told) a naturally friendly, sunny and accommodating disposition.

Why they chose this property

We love sharing Hinton Grange with our guests, when you are responsible for it's upkeep it is nice to see it through fresh eyes over and over again week on week. We understand guests have not come to see us (we will always respect your privacy during your stay) but we also know how us living on site is a huge advantage not only can we share our local knowledge but we are on hand to resolve any issues or answer any questions you may have. We pride ourselves on offering more than an interior, we like to share all of our 6 acres with guests as well as a large games room with full sized snooker table and table tennis.
We work hard to make the gronds as pretty on the outside as the inside. Although Hinton itself is a small hamlet with a pub, we have two major cities on our doorstep, two famous walks (The Cotswold Way and The Monarch's Way) our next door neighbour is Dyrham Park (the national trust property) and being just off the M4 we have excellent access to a wide range of areas including the now toll free Severn Bridge.

What makes this property unique

Unique to Hinton Grange is the fact that our properties have open fires - not woodburners - open fires. There is nothing better than sitting listening and watching flames dance and crackle. Our collection of cottages are all self contained with kitchens and although others will be staying on site the layout enables you to have privacy during your stay. We are not a busy place we are tucked down behind the village and once you arrive and settle, you will find peace and tranquility.
