About this property
The Aylesbury Cottage - Part of the Hinton Grange Collection
The Aylesbury Cottage is set within the grounds of our wonderful home Hinton Grange. Just 15 minutes drive from the cities of Bath and Bristol. Plus only yards away from an award winning pub!
Hinton Grange has been an established place to stay for over 50 years. We purchased it for our family home 6 years ago and have been running a professional holiday cottage business here since.
We fell in love with the romance of the place and we are sure you will too.
The space is completely yours and you will have complete privacy, however we live on site in the main house, so if you need anything please just ask, we are very sociable but will leave you to enjoy your holiday in peace unless you want us!
Dedicated Wifi now available throughout the cottage.
The Aylesbury Cottage is a stone built one bed with 4 poster bed, en-suite shower room and open plan living room with an open fire. Although it overlooks the main house, many guests sit out on it patio to enjoy breakfast or an evening drink as it also has great views of the main garden as it is still surprisingly private. We are a small family and only ever have cottage guests visiting so passing traffic pedestrian or car is minimal.
Washing machines are available free of charge in the communal laundry room which you will have 24 hour access with your own key and there is also dvd's you can borrow.
You are welcome to wander the majority of the 6 acres of the gardens, the only private area is directly in front of the main house, it is not really about keeping you out but more to do with keeping our animals and the mess associated with them in. We have a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog called Star but we have now enclosed in our private garden so you will not meet her unless she is with us, a goose (great guard goose, one of the reasons to limit access to our area), 9 Indian runner ducks and countless wild ducks, Moorhens, Deer, Fox (we have reached an understanding with regards to our ducks, I think), Badger, Owls, Bats and a Kingfisher (to name the cute animals in our garden). None of the domesticated animals will visit the area around your accommodation but if you wish to go into the wider gardens please just say if you would rather not meet Star let us know and we will make sure you can roam free, we are not precious about her, she can go out in the garden any other time.
We also have a separate games wing to include a full size snooker room, table tennis, trampoline and climbing frame which we happily share with our guests and is always open to you.
We live on site as a family and run a full time self catering cottage company so any issues we are on hand to advise and can also help you with advice on walks in the area and places to visit.
We live only a couple of hundred meters from an award winning gastro pub. It is a major advantage to be able to walk to dinner and no one needs to be designated driver!
We are also virtually next door to Dyrham Park, it is a short 1.5 mile countryside walk away or a 2 minute drive to the main entrance.

About the host
Hosted by Angela Gent
My husband and I purchased Hinton Grange in 2011 after falling in love with the romance of the place, even though it had fallen into disrepair and being sold though the receivers. We knew we wanted to bring up our family here and also knew we could love it as a home first and foremost, whilst also sharing it with others by adapting it from a hotel into holiday cottages. Hinton Grange is perfectly situated between Bristol and Bath and Hinton itself although small has a fabulous social scene centered around the ever popular local pub - The Bull at Hinton. I spent my career before children in both the leisure industry and corporate sales, both gave me the skills required to run a holiday cottage company alongside (I have been told) a naturally friendly, sunny and accommodating disposition.
Why they chose this property
We love sharing Hinton Grange with our guests, when you are responsible for it's upkeep it is nice to see it through fresh eyes over and over again week on week. We understand guests have not come to see us (we will always respect your privacy during your stay) but we also know how us living on site is a huge advantage not only can we share our local knowledge but we are on hand to resolve any issues or answer any questions you may have. We pride ourselves on offering more than an interior, we like to share all of our 6 acres with guests as well as a large games room with full sized snooker table and table tennis.
We work hard to make the gronds as pretty on the outside as the inside. Although Hinton itself is a small hamlet with a pub, we have two major cities on our doorstep, two famous walks (The Cotswold Way and The Monarch's Way) our next door neighbour is Dyrham Park (the national trust property) and being just off the M4 we have excellent access to a wide range of areas including the now toll free Severn Bridge.

What makes this property unique
Unique to Hinton Grange is the fact that our properties have open fires - not woodburners - open fires. There is nothing better than sitting listening and watching flames dance and crackle. Our collection of cottages are all self contained with kitchens and although others will be staying on site the layout enables you to have privacy during your stay. We are not a busy place we are tucked down behind the village and once you arrive and settle, you will find peace and tranquility.
