Very large 3-star gîte on a horse farm

For a weekend, a week (minimum in high season) or more ... want to spend a stay in the countryside, with family and / or friends? And without sacrificing your comfort? You found ! Between Camargue and Cévennes, north of Sommières, Mas Bas Orthoux awaits you. On the menu: the charm of a large new gite in an old, completely renovated 16th century farmhouse. A very large swimming pool surrounded by 3 hectares of nature. The beauty and calm of the countryside, overlooking a river, facing the Pic Saint-Loup. The simple happiness of a life on the farm, surrounded by horses ... This is the guaranteed change of scenery that we offer you for your tribal vacation (up to 8-10 people) ...

HOUSING
The cottage is located on the Mas floor and accessible by an independent entrance (opposite the owners' living space). With a surface of 180 m², to which must be added an open terrace of 80 m², it is designed, rented as a whole, for groups of up to 10 people. The gite is composed of an entrance, a very large living room (kitchen, dining room, living room) opening onto the terrace (with barbecue), a second living room, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms / WC.

The cottage benefits from the greatest comfort (hotel quality bedding, fully equipped artisan kitchen, 3 televisions, Internet network, air conditioning in common areas…), without sacrificing the charm of a decoration mixing modern elements with structures and original objects (high ceilings of limed wood, heritage of the old hay lofts; old stable door; old agricultural everyday objects…).

Warning ! During the high season (July 12-August 23 for 2019), the gite is rented as a whole, for a minimum week (from Saturday to Saturday). Outside these periods, you can rent only part of the gîte (see map for the 3 areas of the gîte / Mediterranean, Camargue, Cévennes), for a minimum of 2 nights, at suitable prices and on arrival / departure dates in outside Saturday. THE SWIMMING POOL
The swimming pool (12 x 6), located behind the stables and the old water tank, is hidden from view and accessible at all times. It is shared with potential customers of the guest room (capacity 2 to 4 people), located on the ground floor of the Mas, opposite the gîte.

SPECIAL HORSES
Given our specificity (horse farm), we are able to welcome riders wishing to come and spend their holidays with their horses (individual or collective paddocks, riders' house to store equipment safely, maps and advice for hikes in loop…). Special offers for equestrian stays. Note: Mas Bas is a member of the Vidourle association on horseback.

More generally, the paddocks of our horses are accessible in our company. We will be happy to share with you our passion for our 6 "children" (4 Spanish, 1 American and 1 Comtois), but in complete safety. We can also, if you wish, hire some of our horses. To be exhaustive, we also have a dog (who would not forgive us for not talking about him!).

LOCATION OF THE MAS
Le Mas Bas is located at the end of the small hamlet of Rauret (less than 100 inhabitants), in the commune of Orthoux. We overlook the agricultural valley of Vidourle. Calm will therefore be your holiday companion ... which does not exclude conviviality! A vehicle is essential to move around, if only to go to Quissac (5 km north of the hamlet) with all its amenities (supermarkets, local shops, weekly market, restaurants ...).

Ideally located between Camargue and Cévennes, halfway between Montpellier and Nîmes, Mas Bas Orthoux offers the possibility of A LA CARTE HOLIDAY…

NATURE version holidays: ballads, mountain biking or star horse riding from the Mas; hikes around Pic Saint-Loup (20 mins from the Mas) or the Rocky Sea at Sauve (15 mins); river (swimming and fishing) at the bottom of the property ...

TOURISM version: Gard side, Nîmes the Roman, the Pont du Gard, the Camargue, Aigues-Mortes, the Cévennes ... but also the medieval cities of Sommières and Sauve, the villages in circulation. On the Hérault side (10 minutes from the Mas), Montpellier the cosmopolitan at 45 minutes, Sète and the Etang de Thau, the Grande Motte, the Hérault gorges, the Cirque de Navacelles (Unesco world heritage) ...

CULTURE version: museums in Montpellier (including the Fabre museum), in Nîmes (including the Museum of Romanity) ... but also the Silk Museum 20 minutes from the Mas, the Fourche Conservatory 15 minutes. During the summer season: numerous local exhibitions and events.
