Great room for short trip w/ family

The room met all of our expectations. Though the kitchen is small, it had everything we needed. Plus, we had easy access to the pool and other amenities, since the room is in building 1. The resort staff was courteous and helpful. And being so close to the Navajo Express lift made the lodge location a hugh convenience.

Beyond disappointed!!

Let me start off by saying that I have never written a negative review before ever. I'm a super positive person that isn't too difficult to please as long as I receive what I booked. I felt I really needed to report this. I booked this Luxury 1 Bedroom Condo(#879301) with full kitchen for my family's ski vacation a few months prior to our trip. As the date of our vacation neared I received the confirmation and it was for a much smaller Junior Suite with a tiny kitchenette. I was told that an error was made on their end and sorry, but there were no more larger 1 bedrooms available. Everything was booked since it was over the holidays, which is why I had booked in advance. The property manager was able to find me a 1 Bedroom Grand for 2 days and we had to stay in the small Junior Suite for 2 days. We had to move mid trip which was really a pain with all my kids ski stuff etc. The manager gave me $20.00 off each night which hardly seemed to make up for it, as we had planned to cook dinners each night and make lunches which was impossible in the Junior Suite. I still do not understand how I could book a property through VRBO and it not be available. I have rented out my own home many times through VRBO and can't even imagine how one could offer a property as available, receive a deposit and send out the reservation confirmation, but not actually have the property available. I have to say as a frequent user of VRBO , this experience has definitely made me more leary. The manager also promised to waive/pay the nightly resort fees of $11.47/night, which if he had followed through on this and responded to my emails I would never been writing this review, I would have dropped it. But after having booked a place that was not available, having to hassle with a smaller place without a kitchen and having to move mid trip and then not being reimbursed for the nightly resort charges as promised and getting no response back from the property manager in now over 9 days, it's the principle at this point. I felt compelled to write this review.
