About this property

Lily Holiday cottage near the sea in Cardigan Bay

Good base for doing the idyllic coastpath walk/beach & ideal for those escaping from the noise of the towns. Wake up to the sound of birds, wind in the trees, sunshine and nothing else after a peaceful sleep in the silence of the nature.
Less than 3 miles (8 mins by car) to the local sandy beach.

A well detached house surrounded by wonderful nature, small wooded valleys with wild nature, secluded paths, sleepy country lanes, fields and the ruined historic abbey nearby.

Guests have the entire cottage adjoining my own for their own use with all amenities, fully self catering and a private entrance with own door key. We cannot accept children under the age of 8 in the property, owing to furnishings/carpets etc sorry!
The living room now has a cosy woodburner too.

The tap water supply is from a large spring that has come up from deep under the hill since medieval times and was considered a special spring source by the local monks of the abbey nearby. The water has been lab tested and verified, can be switched to mains if you prefer.

My property is up on the hill above St Dogmaels and is best suited to people who enjoy walking/cycling or who have a car. It is a 35 minute walk Cardigan town centre, a 10 minute walk to St Dogmaels village and a 35 minute walk to Poppit sands beach.

By car everything is very close by (5 mins to Cardigan, 3 mins to St Dogmaels, 8 mins to Poppit beach and 10 mins to Ceibwr bay coast path. My property has a large private car park in the yard with plenty of space for many cars.

I have been in this area for 5 years and given many tours of wonderful sights to various friends and guests. Can give local insider knowledge and maps on the best (and sometimes unknown) places to visit and things to do, to ensure you have a truly wonderful holiday here in the Cardigan area.

Guests have full use of the garden and entire house. Frying or grilling meat is strictly forbidden in the house (other forms of cooking meat are fine). Cannot accept pets sorry.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

About the host

Hi all,
I'm a middle aged British guy recently bought two cottages near the coast. I know the area well and can give plenty of advice on sights and excursions. I enjoy windsurfing, tennis, squash, archery and tennis and can provide equipment and advice on where to play these locally.
I live in the neighbouring cottage, so always around to help out.

Why they chose this property

The great thing I love about my cottages here is the silence and peace of this secluded little valley up the hillside. There's no sound of cars or the hubub of people and you can really sleep well at night and wake up hearing only the birds.
(Yes there is the sound of tractors on the odd few days though).

What makes this property unique

Tap water from deep spring source.
Freshest air and water you'll ever find.
Beautiful secluded woods walk just 300m up the hill.
No noisy neighbours, house is detached from neighbours by 50meters
3 bikes available to take out (free)
Top pick of the best 4 beaches in West Wales, all under 20 minutes drive.
Badminton net/grassy court. Also table-tennis table
Unique historic sites around us (castles, abbeys, iron-age forts).
