We were delighted to discover Gorsddu and will happily return. The property is wonderfully situated on its own with views over the mountains in all directions. The house is spacious and very well appointed. It feels welcoming. The garden is enclosed so our dog could enjoy the outdoor space too when we were sitting outside. The sense of peace and space was so welcome. You can walk from the door. Llanwrthwl Common is vast but with tracks to follow. OS map useful. It's a friendly area with so much to see - the Elan Valley of course, great countryside all around and history and culture and cafes. The 'local amenities' rating feels superfluous for this property. The village is tiny. The approach is up a bumpy moorland track. Gorsddu lies in splendid isolation. Those who choose to spend time here are probably not looking for local amenities. Having said that, road access beyond the village to amenities is fine.

A wonderful relaxing stay at Gorsddu, stunning location, truly a break away from the stresses and strains of everyday life to be calmed by the beautiful Welsh countryside and the amazing wildlife that can be watched from the cottage. The night sky is quiet special too. The cottage is modern, well equipped, spacious, cosy and warm, very rural, secluded in the most beautiful setting of mid wales countryside. Plenty of walks directly from the cottage, and the beauty of Elan Valley is only a short drive away, Llandrindod also has a nice walk around the lake and also up around the woods. The Rock Spa is quite special too. The owners are friendly and helpful if needed, the welcome pack is a very nice touch & the fresh flowers were appreciated. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage if you enjoy peaceful, relaxing environment, with the bonus of nature all around. On a personal level I have always loved this area of Wales and look forward to returning to Gorsddu  Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The setting is wonderful - just fields, hills and sheep.

The setting is wonderful - just fields, hills and sheep. This is truly getting away from it all. Very comfortable cottage with every amenity. Easy access down a sheep filled lane. Not much to do in the area but walk. The dog loved the garden but we struggled to find many off lead walks due to the sheep everywhere. We mostly ate in - lots of local pubs in the towns but nowhere with the views of the cottage. Only negative, we found the lounge very cold and spooky - the dog refused to even go in! We spent our time in the conservatory instead which had the wonderful views so it was not really an issue. WiFi and tv pretty limited so bring your own entertainment. The house was very well situated for anyone ,’wanting to get away from it all’.

The house was very well situated for anyone ,’wanting to get away from it all’. Well equipped, well presented and a joy during our stay. The one comment I would make is to anyone with a high internet usage (two teenage boys) that mobile data is the only way to satisfy the needs. The house does have wi-fi but limited data. Lovely house, lovely location and would definitely come back.

Very good.

Very good. 2 small things: A toast rack would be good. Suggest you add "unlicensed" in brackets after convenience store - 2 miles as that would be helpful.
