For a truly rural retreat, Ash Garth Cottage sits in glorious countryside on the edge of the North York Moors, looking over the Hambleton Hills. This beautiful Grade II listed barn conversion, with Visit Britain 5* Gold quality grading, is the perfect hideaway for two looking for a tranquil break. The delightful open plan living/dining room has high vaulted beamed ceiling, exposed stone work and oak floors throughout. Large comfy sofa and chair snuggle round the wood-burning stove, perfect for relaxing on chilly evenings with a glass of wine and a good book.
The stylish kitchen area is well equipped and has wood cabinets in keeping with the cottage, tasteful lighting and a generous welcome pack. The charming bedroom is calm and peaceful, with painted sloping ceiling and beams, leading to the en-suite traditional bathroom, with its painted stone walls.
Relax on the sunny patio enjoying a morning coffee, and looking out over the garden and wildlife pond towards the enchanting Hambleton Hills. For a magical day out take the famous steam train from Pickering to Whitby and enjoy a fish and chip supper looking out over Whitby harbour. While historic York is not to be missed, with its cobbled shambles, medieval city walls and river cruises. Shops 5 miles, pub 1 mile.
