Looking for convenience and comfort? our modern, newly renovated condo is it. This our fourth unit and this gated condo communities is located in the heart of Birmingham-Southside. Only 10 min. walk to UAB campus and UAB Hospital-Highlands, clinics and more. 3 min. walk to Dream Land BBQ, Zyp Bike or scooter, etc. Short walk to great restaurants, shopping & nightlife in Five Points South. Plus FREE off street parking that are rare to find in the city. Beautiful, clean and great location!This is a very nice, clean, and fully equipped-furnished condo. A chance for at-home feel for the price of a hotel. Hotel like treatment:
-Large bedroom holds Queen sized bed that comfortably sleeps 2 adults, Clean and comfortable bed sheets, pillows, duvets. All mattresses covered with high quality mattress pads. - Three size towels, 3 in 1 shampoo/body wash soap, hair dryer, etc provided. Lots closet spaces in the hall and living room, large walking closet space in the bedroom with hangers, shelves and chest drawer.
- Free in-room climate control (central heat/AC).
- Free premium speed wifi and smart TV in living room
- Dining area
- Fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, rang stove & fan hood, dish washer, microwave, toaster, kettle, Keurig single cup coffee maker, cookware, pots&pans, dinnerware & utensils, etc.
- Private bathroom with large tub/shower. Hair dryer provided
- Large walk-in closet attached to the bedroom and many storage closet space provided.
-Queen size air mattress provided.
- Covered balcony over look the quart yard with large glass sliding door access from dinning room. Great place to enjoy your morning coffee and watch the evening sunset.
-Gated, Off street parking lot are free to all our guests. This is rare to find in the city.

Guests have FREE access to the entire condo, bbq grills, fire pits, laundry room and many other sharing facilities for condo residents outside of our unit in the condo complex. However, any these condo public facilities outside of our unit are NOT part of vrbo rental. Please do not review us on these facilities for cleanness and availability or other conditions. Please note that this home is being rented as a one bedroom/one full bath all on one level home only, any of the amenities outside of our unit are only an added bonus for your use if you so choose.Our condo is located on the top floor.

There are 8 step of stairs at gate. You may check our listing photos for more details of the stairs. We provide one free parking space for guests at our condo resident off street parking lot. If you have more than one vehicle, please park the additional car on the street. Parking is free on the street or off street parking lot. Condo pool has been closed for repairs, not permitted to be used.

Great house for families!

We recently stayed at Five Points South for a family wedding in Birmingham, and very much enjoyed our stay. There were three families in the house, and plenty of room for everyone. Lots of charm and very clean. Great backyard and front porch area. Will definitely stay here again if we are back in Birmingham.

Renters be very aware, this is a very old house in a rather run down neighborhood. But - very clean and well stocked. Rooms are large and beds are comfortable. Be sure the second you notice anything broken or wobbly to let the owner know immediately. We are out 100% of a damage deposit due to items the owner said were broken that we were not aware of when we left. We have been renting VRBO for years domestic and international with a 5star renter rating and have always had ourdamage deposit returned in full. So have made a note to self - Never rent an older home.

Thank you for staying with us and for sharing your experience with other travelers. We are located at historic Southside that has long been a popular nightlife and entertainment urban area. My house is a historic home that has been totally renovated to today's comfortable living. We inspect our house before and after each guests check in and check out to make sure everything is in good condition for our guests. We have Home Theater power recline chairs in our living room and they were in perfect condition before you checked in. I wish you would have asked me before you moved the chair in the wrong way and got it broke. Each of these chairs cost over $1000. Your deposit of $300 cannot cover the cost of the replacement. In our house rules we state clearly not to move or alter our furniture. I would have appreciated you to respect our house rules. I hope you have a better experience in the future.

Okay for the price

This place was okay for a low price point but it had a few issues. It's hard to explain how awkward the house layout and the location are. The main level you enter into has 3 bedrooms, the TV room, and a bathroom that is almost too small to use. We all moved to the lower level bathroom. The kitchen, better bathroom, and 2 more bedrooms are down a long flight of stairs. It was strange to have the kitchen so far removed from the living space. The same awkwardness applies to the neighborhood. It is one mile from downtown but in the middle of very crowded, narrow, winding, hilly streets so every trip out of the house was a bit painful. The house itself was mostly clean except for hair in the bathtub when we arrived and a bug on my daughter's pillow the first night. That set a bad tone for the stay once she was freaked out. A few other strange things- No ESPN on the cable package. I didn't know there were packages without ESPN and I don't believe that is an unusual channel to expect. The rules from the owner had an offensively aggressive tone as though we were there to destroy his house and rob him. The rules included no parking in front of the neighbor's house but there is no off street parking. I never figured out which neighbor was the touchy one who owned a public parking spot. There was an admonishment to control noise but one neighbor's dogs roamed freely and barked often at night. I believe the house lists a fireplace but it is decorative. Our last night in town it got down to 22 degrees outside and we had no hot water in the bathroom sink. Fortunately, Birmingham is warm most of the year so this should not be a problem often. Overall, we would not stay here again but I'm sure it is fine for some.

Hi Mark: I am sorry to see that you did not have good stay base on your review. I wish you would have contacted me directly during your stay for the issues you had at house and I will be happy to be there to help you. It seems you have NOT read our listing before booked it because the layout of the house, neighborhood, street parking, stairs, TV, rules, etc were all said clearly on the listing and also show it on the listing photos . We try to list it as details as we could so our guests won't get surprised but I am sorry it seems you weren't expecting it. During your stay it was unusual one day cold below freezing weather at Birmingham that we have advised guests to open the cabinet and drip the water to prepare for it. It seems you did not do that and got our bathroom water frozen that was why you did not have water at your last day. Again, I wish you would have called me and I would have been there to show you how to prepare for the below freezing cold weather in the south. I came from north that I don't have to do these because we have better insulation for the pipes at north to prepare for the freezing weather at all year. However, for south, it is not the case because we don't get below freezing all winter, maybe only for one day in a year just like the day you stayed. I am sorry again you happened to be at Birmingham during this unusual cold weather in the South. As for the hairs in bathtub and bugs in the bug in the pillow that I surprised, I wish you would have contacted me right away on your check in day or sent me the photos, so I would have investigated it with my housekeeper and Cook's pest control co. It is very unusual to us that we get complaining on cleanness because hired professional cleaning service and pest control company, we also have property manager to check their works to ensure our property is perfectly prepared for our coming guests. I want to thank you for your feedback. While I wish, you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it’s apparent in this case, we fell short. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I will suggest you to book our other one level home instead of this one. I would be happy to make your reservation personally and see to it that you enjoy the experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of.

We had a little bit bumpy of a start with not being able to check-in until two and a half hours after original check-in time, but it all ended up working out! The place was GREAT and very spacious for me and my bridesmaids! Very quiet where we were and had pretty good parking as well right in front of the house. Would highly recommend!

We loved our salary while in the city. This home was everything we needed for our time there. It was very close to so many places that where we needed to be. The greatest challenge was the parking in front of their home. We were informed about the parking before hand. Normally parking 2-3 standard size cars in front of our house has never been a issue and there are also lots parking space on our street if you have more than 2-3 cars. Our house is in the heart of city so parking on the street is very common. But we are in the quiet residential part of city so we have never gotten any issues on parking and there is always space in front of our house. Thank you for staying with us and I am looking forward to have the opportunity host you again at Birmingham.

Great Location...Great Property.......Wonderful Time

What a great property & a great location. We had a big group & never felt cramped & found plenty of place to just hangout & visit. We had many couple & everyone had there own bedroom which were incredibly comfortable. Being a southern boy I love the place & the look. Being about a 10 minute walk to Dreamland was a BIG PLUS for us. I would HIGHLY recommend this property & will definitely use again for our next group visit to a Alabama game. Being in Birmingham for a Bama game (vs Tuscaloosa) is a no-brainer. Thanks for everything.

So charming and roomy!

Very charming home, which was surprisingly roomy! It very comfortably slept all my bridesmaids, and we had plenty of room for the two hair dressers to set up and do 12 heads of hair in the dining room. Highly recommend!
