About this property

Beautiful river front self catering holiday lodge.

Set within the most peaceful and well-tended grounds of Caer Beris Holiday Park, on a stunning corner plot you will find 28 Riverside. As the name suggests the lodge is situated right on the edge of the River Ifron where otters have regularly been spotted. This spacious timber lodge offers well equipped and comfortable self catering accommodation for five people. The lounge has a large and comfortable sofa and armchair and there’s a flatscreen TV with satellite Freeview, and free wifi along with a cosy flame effect fire for the chillier nights. Large picture windows which adorn its well-designed living area, not only flood the space with light but invite effortless appreciation of the beauty of the natural surroundings. The French doors open onto a large veranda across the front of the property providing an ideal spot for dining in the sunshine. The dining area has circular table and four chairs, and next to this is the kitchen, which has full size fridge and gas cooker, and a full complement of what you would expect in a kitchen. There’s a double bedroom, a twin and a single, a bathroom with shower, sink & WC. Outside the lodge has a large area of grassy lawn with BBQ and its own private driveway. Pets are welcome at the site – there is a large riverside area for dog walking and miles of footpaths nearby. This lodge offers a holiday with peace and relaxation - you’d be forgiven for never wanting to leave such tranquility behind.
Caer Beris Holiday Park is situated just outside the spa town of Builth Wells near to the Brecon Beacons, an area of outstanding Welsh countryside. Situated in 34 acres of neatly maintained grounds, the park provides a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere with something to interest every member of the family from walking, cycling, culture, scenery, nature and of course fishing!
On the site there is a stretch of free river fishing where there are salmon, grayling and trout waiting to be caught. There is also a fully stocked fishing lake (permits required).
Caer Beris itself is the site of a historic fort and the stunning Caer Beris Manor Hotel. Access to the hotel is gained from the park grounds by crossing the wooden walkway bridge which spans over the River Irfon. Guests are welcome to visit the hotel and take advantage of the facilities and events held throughout the year.
The setting is beautifully rural yet very close to the town of Builth Wells which is only a mile away - a few minutes in the car, or a pleasant 20 minute walk through the Manor Hotel grounds when the weather obliges. Builth is a charming town with a range of shops, pubs, restaurants and even a cinema!
Local attractions around the area include the ever popular Royal Welsh Show, The National Showcaves Centre, The Woollen Mill at Rock Mill and the breathtaking landscapes in and around the Elan Valley. We especially recommend the Red Kite Feeding at Rhayader and a walk or drive around the Elan Valley Dams. A 15 minute drive to the Victorian Spa town of Llandrindod Wells, is well worth a visit especially during the Victorian Festival in August.
Riverside 28 is 40 miles from Hereford, 20 miles to Hay-on-Wye, 17 miles from Brecon, while Abergavenny is 35 miles from the property. The nearest airport is Cardiff Airport which is 69 miles from the lodge.

The location was good. To find the lodge was extremely difficult as the lodges were not numbered in numerical order. The warden just pointed in the general direction to where the lodge was situated. The parking was very tight due to over grown hedges. The lodge was in very poor condition...certainly not "luxury"as the advert said. It did NOT have the dishwasher, washing machine or dryer as in the listing. It did have an ironing board but no cover for it! There was black mould in the shower cubicle even on the plastic bath mat.The shower head could NOT be inserted into the wall mounting. So to have a shower you had to hold it. The towels were extremely thin and worn. The majority of the double glazed windows had blown. The heating was by portable oil filled heaters There were half a dozen damp traps around the lodge, that were full of water. The bedrooms were extremely small, the comfort of the double mattress was ok but it did dip in tne middle. There were no extra blankets and we had to use the quilts off the single beds to keep warm overnight. There is very limited clothes hanging space just hooks on the wall.Out side it stated that there was a small jetty and that we had river dside views....it was so overgrown with brambles that we couldn't find the jetty (I don't believe there is one!)The decking had holes in it.We were booked for 5 nights...and left after the third night
