Luxury Retreat on 13 Secluded Acres With Spa Just Outside McCall

A mere 2 hours from Boise along the breathtaking Payette River Scenic Byway, this secluded 13-acre property is situated on an alpine hillside above the historic Whitney Ranch. Enjoy the panoramic views of mountains, forests and meadows. The property is an excellent location for enjoying the stars and wildlife and experiencing the utter peace of the area in total privacy.

Ready for a little fun? Head to one of the many year-round recreational hot spots just down the road! The cabin is located 5 miles from Brundage ski area, 4 miles from hot springs, and just 9 miles to beautiful McCall where you can dine out, ice skate, rent jet-skis or just relax at the famous Shore Lodge's Cove Spa.

Afterwards, cozy up at home for a movie in one of the two living rooms or make dinner in the gourmet kitchen. Wrap up the evening by mixing a cocktail at the upstairs wet bar, sitting by the fire pit on the patio, or star gazing in the hot tub.

This cabin remodel was professionally designed and decorated (completed July 2016). The lower level features an open 700-square-foot living area with a garage-adjacent mud room for jackets, shoes and skis, as well as a half bath, a full kitchen with gas range, gas fireplace and a sectional sofa that pulls out into a queen sized memory foam mattress. The second story features its own cozy living area with a queen size sofa bed, full bath, wet bar, wine fridge and master bedroom with queen size mattress.

We really enjoyed this lovely cabin and the surrounding outdoor environment. The cabin was nicely appointed. The hot tub easy to use. We took lots of walks and enjoyed the countryside with its beautiful ponderosa pines and magpies, birds, and fauna.Tom and Lisa were very responsive and personable hosts.

Sunsets and Starlight

Beautifully appointed with everything you need and more! Amazing views, spectacular sunsets and endless stars. If you're looking for secluded privacy with creature comforts, this is the place! The bed is extra comfortable and the hot tub is the cherry on top! We already miss hearing the cows in the distance and the wind through the pines. This will be a long remembered stay. Perfect Mountain Getaway

My family just loved this property and the location. It boasts coziness and so much character with their remodel. We loved every unique detail. To top it off, the view was stunning. We never wanted to leave. I also have to mention that the hosts are top notch. They are the most attentive and responsive hosts we’ve had on a VrBO property. It was an overall wonderful experience!.

Beautiful Property

We had a wonderful relaxing stay. Lovely cabin isolated in the woods with a beautiful view. Enjoyed the art and antiques. You can tell the owners put a lot of time and thought into creating a fun and comfortable space. The owners are very responsive and happy to help you have a great stay.

Total relaxation

This is a beautiful home with an amazing view. Its even better than the photos. We had the most peaceful relaxing time. The owners were absolutely amazing and so helpful. My husband and i really enjoyed the spa, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and we had everything we needed to grill and make meals in the kitchen. Our dog was in heaven chasing chipmunks. Incredible place we cant wait to go back!

Beautiful - Peaceful Getaway

Beautiful views of pine trees and mountains. Home is cozy and very clean. You will want for nothing when you stay here. Highly recommend the hot tub for the chilly evenings or mornings. Lisa was quick to answer any questions. It was an all around wonderful stay and we look forward to our return trip.

New Years getaway.

This cabin is a gem for getting away from the busyness of life. It feels remote and isolated, surrounded by beautiful scenery but, is in fact just a short drive to McCall and Brundage Ski Resort. This little cabin is a cozy retreat with all the amenities for a relaxing after your days activities. Lisa and Tom are excellent hosts and provided recommendations for area events while we were there. This is a new favorite and we will definitely be back.

Slice of Heaven

This was the getaway my family needed. My dad grew up on a ranch just a few miles away and with a similar view of the valley. He loved being able to stay in this area. The house is a charming blend of Texas and Northwest ambiance. The host was immediately responsive to any question and gave suggestions to help enjoy the stay. The house was more than adequately stocked with the basic supplies. I will be back with my husband. My favorite VRBO experience to date!

Newer and private well kept property with wonderful view

We spent 5 nights at this property and thoroughly enjoyed it. The owners were very easy to work with and provided more than we have experienced at other properties. I can't say enough about how wonderful it was to sit either inside in the comfortable chairs, on the patio, or in the hot tub and enjoy the view! Wildlife was abundant and no neighbors can be seen. We will definitely be back. The cabin is very well appointed and stocked! You won't be disappointed here.

Adorable cabin

This place is incredible. You are extremely secluded but still only a few minutes from good food and drink. The cabin overlooks a breathtaking meadow out to the mountains. Highly recommend The Intersection bar and grill for dinner and the Granite Mountain cafe for breakfast. When you are ready to start exploring just head up 95 and you will surely find it at Pittsburg Landing and Seven Devil’s Rd. If you are looking for something closer head to Brundage Mountain for a gondola ride and some mountain biking or hiking in the summer. The restaurant there is great when you are ready to relax. All in all this cabin is the best place to stay to be away from people but centrally located for some fun!

The owners Tom and Lisa were very helpful. We had a few questions before we set up our stay and they answered everything very promptly. It's a very Nice cozy place. It is a short distance to New Meadows or McCall. Well stocked for everything we needed. Enjoyed lots of wildlife around the cabin, and the view of the valley was my go-to place to sit and and relax. We enjoyed the Fall Foliage on a couple of drives we took by Brundage Ski Area. Thanks for sharing your cabin with us. We'll be back. Stew and Cathy R

Escaped from the world!

Beautiful view, peaceful and quiet. Feels like you are far away from civilization, yet quite convenient to town and McCall area. If we had to find something to complain about, it would be to consider a new mattress (It's very soft and sinks deeply in the middle). Had everything we needed to relax and get away from it all. Thank you Lisa! There were so many comments on the chalk board, there wasn't room to add ours!

Escape from the city

We decided to leave the Dallas rat race and explore the nature in Idaho. The house is exactly as described. So nice! We felt off the grid with a magnificent view while also having wifi, a hot tub, washer and dryer and all the amenities of home.... We took suggestions from Lisa and we are so glad we did. I had the best pork sandwich of my life at The Intersection in New Meadows. (That's high praise from a 6th generation Texan). We also enjoyed a lovely dinner on the lake at Shore Lodge in McCall. It was delightful. We found the house to be a wonderful place to lounge and relax after a fun day of hiking and kayaking. Thank-you so much for offering your home on VRBO so that others may enjoy the fruits of your labor. It was just what we were looking for in a quick get away!

2nd Stay - Great again!

We stayed the 1st week of June. The meadow was green and the area was beautiful. We heard the cows during the day, the coyotes at night & the turkeys in the early morning. This is an absolutely beautiful & peaceful place. We stayed last in Dec of 2022 when there was 3' of snow. This was a different kind of beautiful! The hosts are quick to answer any questions and are wonderful to work with. The house is well equipped, comfortable, the TV is great, but the best of all is the view. The sunsets are amazing! We look forward to coming again. Next time maybe the fall with those lovely fall colors. This is definitely a place you can come back again & again. Thank you to Lisa & Thomas. We will be back! Amazing views and a meticulously kept cabin!

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and admittedly, this is the nicest place of many we stayed at! The owners are top notch and spared no expense in creating a truly wonderful, inviting environment. We had some friends who were up in the area at the same time and hosted a wine tasting get together and BBQ. Everyone was impressed at the details and spaciousness of the cabin. It was so easy to socialize and have a good time. Later, after they left...we enjoyed a very satisfying soak in the hot tub, overlooking the valley. I am reluctant to give such a raving review and reducing my odds of booking this cabin again...selfish I know, but we rarely enjoy such a relaxing time as we did here. :) The owners are very attentive hosts and care for your well-being and experience too! Thank you, Lisa and Tom!

The cabin has amazing views and the perfect cozy feel for a mountain getaway!!

We have stayed at many vrbo's and this has been the best experience yet!! All the extra touches that Lisa provided were very appreciated. From the eggs, bacon and milk here for us in the fridge to doggie blanket and treats it felt like we were at home. The cabin decor was one of the highlights for us. The combination of the clear love of cows and the items from long ago along with the beautiful color schemes throughout the cabin give this cabin it's unique feel. And of coarse you can't forget the greeter at the door- that is priceless. We spent the weekend days snowmobiling and then came back to relax in the hot tub followed by cooking dinner in the well stocked kitchen. Waking up to the views from the multiple windows over looking the mountains and the meadows was refreshing. Thank you Lisa and Tom for sharing your beautiful mountain haven with is!!! I'm sure we will be back!!!

This is a luxury cabin!

We came for a ski trip to Brundage for New Years. The little cabin and trees lining the drive were lit festively, the fireplace was roaring, and there was a rich smell of woodsy pine. The kitchen is new and has every modern essential you need. It is open to the lower living room with its vast sliding window overlooking the meadows. The upstairs bathroom has a double headed shower/spa that was nothing short of fantastic. The upstairs living area was perfect for our small kids to play and sleep and next to the master bedroom. The master bed was probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Our hosts provided 4 different fan options which I was so happy to see. The furnishing are not your typical rental fair and more like something you'd find in a luxury hotel. Our host was easily reachable for questions and checked in to make sure everything was what we needed. Check out was easy and not a list of chores. Thank you to our hosts for making this a memorable and care free New Years!
