The entire property, including the brook and river, was beautiful. It was a very relaxing setting and I love that there were porches to sit out on to enjoy the view even more!
We rented all three cabins and everything was great and a good value. Entire family in town for an ash burial ceremony and family reunion. Campsite was great and property owner/manager did a great job. Highly recommend this property.
Better than expected. Friendly and welcoming. A home away from home.

The property was pretty, the cabin okay, but somewhat crude. The bath was difficult to regulate. The blankets on the bed were wool and very unpleasent.
My son and I, with our 2 dogs, had the best time! We couldn’t have anything better to say about our experience. The cabin was perfect, and the owners were awesome, going out of their way to make our stay even better. We canoed, kayaked, swam, played horseshoes and cornhole, and had an amazing campfire. We had such a wonderful time. Thank you so much John and Diane!
This was our first trip to Maine. We had a great time going to the coast. Only negative was the tv was too small. We would have liked one larger bed but for the size of the bedroom it worked out. We had to travel more than I wanted to go places but being close to 95 is a plus.
We have been coming here since the summer of 2019 and absolutely love it. I am fortunate to take my 15 year old twins here on individual trips and the time spent with them in such a great place is irreplaceable. John and Diane are fantastic hosts. They are friendly and attentive and the cabins have everything needed for a comfortable stay.
We are already looking forward to next year!

TV had to be 30 years old. No WiFi. Didn't understand baskets of seriously old magazines around the house especially when property is so small and space is at a premium. We had booked two nights but left after one.
My friend and I came up for the Millinocket race. Diane reached out and made sure I had her phone number in case of any questions. Cabin was a great location, right off the highway and gas close by. Saw deer both mornings right next to our cabin and a pretty sunrise over the pond across the street. Cabin had a nice welcome sign, Christmas Tree, and heat turned up for us upon arrival. Blankets provided were warm and cozy. Really enjoyed our cozy cabin for breakfast and reheating leftovers after the race was very convenient. On the map it looked far way, but the commute to Millinocket really wasn't that bad. Ventured up to Milli on Friday night for bib pickup, craft fair, the parade, and dinner. Advice: If you're running the race, bring a change of clothes and you can change at the high school in Millinocket (showers too if you want), otherwise I personally think the cabin is a bit too far when you are soaked and frozen. Change ASAP!! Would recommend.

Excellent cabins for canoeing/kayaking/fishing the Penobscot Region. If you’re an outdoor enthusiast or bass fisherman, this is the spot to rest your head at night. This area is known for its smallmouth bass fishing. It didn’t disappoint. The cabin is a cabin. Nothing fancy. It had all that was needed. Just bring your food and charcoal! The canoes were sufficient. Our butts were sore after three to four hours of fishing. So, we came back to eat and regroup. There’s not much too do besides outdoorsy stuff. So, you’re on your own if you want to go dancing. My brother and I did some exploring of other areas close by. Greenbush has flat water that is good for canoeing and fishing also. I was able to research via the Penobscot River Canoe Trail website. Very good info. We also went up to Mattewamkeag Wilderness Park in Mattewamkeag. Bring your fly rod or spinning tackle. We hiked around the few pull offs on the 9 mile dirt road. We fished many riffles and pools. We fished right from the rivers edge but you could wade in, if you wanted to. I don’t think the smallmouth bass have ever seen a bucktail fly, spoon or rooster tail. We caught so many 12-14” smallmouth bass but really got into a few good sized smallmouths from 16-19”. Overall, there weren’t too many people out on Merrill Brook or the Penobscot. You’ll have the fishing all to yourself.
The location was great, you could do fishing, boating, etc..The cleanliness of the property was not good, the 1st bath towel I used had strong musty smell, the cabin had sort of crawl space smells as well.
The Google directions took me to the owners residence which had rude political signs in the windows & a Confederate flag on their barn. There was a big hole in the kitchen door curtain. There we're exposed plastic pipes in the quasi finished bathroom. The back/side door only opened from outside! There was no lampshade on one lamp, the other lamp & the heater had to be plugged into a closet. Under the kitchen sink smelled strongly of mold. There was a message about no open fires on the listing saying you had to use the fire ring, but it wasn't a normal camp fire ring. It was a huge ring so far away with no area for a cozy fire . It was so huge, it looked like it was meant for a story high bonfire. No romantic fires in the evening which is half the fun of camping for my guys.
Cabin was adorable. Had everything we needed except no glasses/wine glasses. Very clean, nothing fancy but so relaxing. There’s 3 cottages-two have 5 twins and one double and ours had2 doubles. Only complaint is antiquated tv. Time for an update!
Overall great trip
Very relaxing charming cabin dogs enjoyed the water. Owners are right there if you need anything. Great place to recharge we will be back in the winter to do some snowmobile riding we loved it.
We had a great time! Owners are very friendly, and if we needed anything, they were right there to take care of it. We are going for a week next year

Lovely, comfy and rustic cabins at the intersection of Merrill Brook and the Penobscot River. The cabins are right at the end of a quiet residential area, with lovely waterways and woods in one direction, yet easy access to Route 95. You feel like you are mostly in the woods, with a peaceful boat launch across the road. We loved sitting by the brook and by the river. Great place for a campfire, for quiet walks and for boating. The cabins are rustic, which was more than fine for us. They were well insulated as the nights got colder and comfortable on the warmer days. The owners were always available and helpful. We had a wonderful time and will go back for sure.
