Stunning retreat in a great location, short drive to Mt Buller.Fantastic heating and dry room for drying snow gear.Great communication and very accommodating host. Darren was very responsive.

We love the place - peaceful, serene, a home away from home. A great place to destress. Enjoyed our time with family. Good communication with Host. Hassle-free check in.Layout of the house is practical.Our favourite is the river - we are all in love with the surrounding nature.

Great house and lovely quiet area with plenty of space and lots of friendly local wildlife.. There were a few small glitches with the property which needed minor attention ... noteably the TV reception if you had small children .. otherwise Great stay!

Nice quiet property in a convenient location closer to Mt Buller, with more than enough space for a group of 5 adults. Only issue was a limited amount of hand soap and no matches for the fireplace. Otherwise was a great place to stay and would recommend it to others.

Beautiful accommodation

We highly recommend the property, it's a beautiful house 20 min away from the ski slopes, with plenty of space and everything you need to feel like home.

Hideaway retreat

After a bumpy start in acquiring this accomodation, the owner went out of his way to make our stay great. Beautiful location out of the way, perfect for peace and quiet in the summer. Would be perfect skiing location.

Very comfortable and spacious

We used the house as a base to explore the lovely walks around Mount Sterling and Mount Buller. The living space is delightful and the kitchen is impressive (unusually good knives pots and pans). We slept very comfortably in the master bedroom, but our son reported that the double bed mattress could be better. It was a little bit disappointing to be told a day before we left that internet use was limited and to discover on arrival that the television was for playing DVDs only. Overall though, a lovely stay in a very comfortable house.

Sawmill property

The property is in a lovely location, and is a good layout for groups. However the property good have been cleaner,some cushion covers were dirty and shelves dusty. The master bedroom bed is very low and the mattress extremely uncomfortable also chair in other double bedroom needs repairing/replacing-also loose board in entrance is dangerous.

Perfect place to get away

One of the nicest places we have stayed and so very close to Buller. The property has a nice little creek running past, wild birds visit the deck outside and the fireplace was amazing. Kids had an absolute ball and enjoyed playing with the toys. It had everything you could want and I hope we can stay there again in the future.

The Architectural design of the Butterfly House is inspiring.

Sawmill Settlement location with the majestic trees and wildlife compliments the house and makes this a peaceful location to get away from the city. We found the layout very functional with 2 families staying at the time. The house had everything we needed for our stay and the kids enjoyed feeding the King parrots out on the large deck. We enjoyed our trip up to Mt Bulla and visiting Delatite winery for a tasting session and a enjoyable lunch.
