Very nice cabin and property very quiet and wildlife are abundant. We enjoyed our stay very much . We saw plenty of black bear some deer one bull elk. We would recommend this place and would stay again. Thanks Sam for providing this opportunity.
Rental process was very easy and the property Manager responded to emails quickly to address any issues or concerns. The property was well equipped for a comfortable stay. During our stay, we saw bears, Bull Elk, fox, Skunk, several Deer, an Eagle, numerous other smaller animals, and enjoyed the sea of stars in the night sky. We visited the Austin Dam, an Amish Auction and the Stevenson Dam. Thank again!
Beautiful, quiet property. The grounds were well kept, in the same manner that you’d see at a resort. The lodge was very large, with a huge finished basement. Comfortable living room furniture, and a large kitchen with everything you need to cook during your stay. The wrap around porch had plenty of seating and table space, both in the front and back. We also used a large grille on the back porch to make breakfast and dinner. We were there during the summer, so the fireplace wasn’t needed. But I can imagine how cozy the lodge must be when it’s snowing. About a 20 minute drive to Cherry Springs park, although the sky & stars were excellent on-premises as well. We live in eastern Pennsylvania, and forgot that there are elk in the western part of the state. One walked right up past the lodge while we were sitting on the porch. While it is a beautiful lodge, please note that it is a fully provisioned home with electricity\fridge\freezer\heat\water\plumbing\full kitchen\WiFi\etc.
The cabin was simply beautiful. Despite inclement weather we still enjoyed the outdoor deck. The kitchen was well equippped and the Blackstone Grill came in very handy for breakfast and dinner! This was a "guy camp trip" but we'd love to come back and bring our spouses in the future.
Repeat vacation at Bear Lodge .. great place and love the town. great get away and snow was everywhere which made the vacation perfect. Great place and well maintained... just a few details of opportunities.. we could not get the tv to run pay for preview movies.. would of been nice.. and a large pan for cooking large dinners (roast pan). otherwise great vacation!
We had a wonderful time at the house. This might be our favorite Christmas trip so far. The only issue we had was the key wasn’t in the lock box, but that was resolved very quickly. We had plenty of areas to get some hikes thru the days.
Beautiful place to hang out with friends and family - play games in the living room, heated garage, basement, or outside on the hill. I gave the cleanliness less than 5 only because of the ladybug situation - dead and live bugs. We plan to return.
We had the best time here. The house was amazing and the views were breathtaking. House was very clean and organized. We would definitely stay here again.
We celebrated my parents' 80th birthdays with a family reunion - 8 adults and 2 children 1 dog. The house was ENORMOUS and easily accommodated our party with nice private areas for everyone. The kitchen is very well equipped with the best pans I've seen in a VRBO. The whole house has filtered water, so even the ice was delicious. Two ice cube makers really came in handy! AC in the upstairs bedrooms was greatly appreciated. The main floor was very warm (temps in mid-upper 80s) but nice overnight.Sam was very responsive, especially when the power went out due to a storm. Getting the keys was very easy, and the whole house was spotless. The beds are all very firm, and the pillows were great. The "futon" on the lower level is an extra pillowtop mattress, which the kids loved sleeping on.We brought a hose that easily attached to the outdoor pump (very necessary since the dog couldn't stay out of the pond!). The gas grill is a griddle surface, not a typical grill, so we used the charcoal grill and fire pit grill for cooking. We enjoyed fishing and catching newts in the pond, and spent so much time on the huge covered porch. The moon was too bright to see the Milky Way, but we did see the ISS fly overhead twice. We had a really lovely, relaxing time.
