We booked this property expecting a comfortable and well‑presented stay, especially given the price. Unfortunately, the standard of the accommodation did not match what was advertised.Although we appreciate that the house is older, the overall cleanliness was disappointing. There were cobwebs throughout, dirty on walls, skirtings and kitchen drawers and cupboards desperately in need of cleaning. Some of the beds were also very old and extremely uncomfortable, which affected the quality of our stay. Several towels and floor mats had visible bleach stains and were obviously extremely worn and old rather than what should be supplied in paid accommodation.Overall, the property felt more like staying at an old relative’s house that hasn’t been properly maintained and is a mishmash of throwing together all old things, rather than a professionally presented property for rent by Stayz. For the price paid, our large group felt that the standard was not acceptable and did not reflect what was advertised.

Thank you for your review and we are sorry the house did not meet your expectations. The house is promoted as a traditional Blue Mountains cottage with heritage furnishing, not necessarily with "antiques". Most of our guests are returning and love the "cottage feel" of the house, which is not to deny that some people would prefer a more contemporary decor. Regarding the cleanliness of the house, we were not aware that this has become an issue and we will address this with our cleaner. Thank you for your feedback.

A lovely cottage, good heating in living area and bedrooms but bathrooms could do with some TLC and heating! Easy check-in, close to Main Street in Katoomba, cafes and supermarket. Our group of eight ladies enjoyed our stay and having separate beds for everyone was great!
