About Kevin or Vicky Hines
I am a self employed individual, with a strong love of cars and carpentry. I own and operate a 35 year old company that manufactures replica Porsche cars under the tradename BECK. My wife, Vicky, is actively involved in our rental efforts, and is a retired legal secretary. Together we designed and remodeled the cabin expressly for a guest house and seasonal rentals.
Kevin or Vicky Hines purchased this House in 2000
Why Kevin or Vicky Hines chose Bremen
The cabin was originally built in the 1940's as a seasonal lake home. In 2000, after building our main home on several adjoining lots we had the opportunity to purchase and move this old cabin. Since we actually lived in it for almost 2 years (while constructing our main home), we knew exactly what it needed to become a much nicer, well insulated and decorated home. We moved this old cabin, which had a poor foundation, outdated heating, plumbing and amenities, but excellent "bones" if you know what I mean. So, we built a brand new foundation on one of our adjoining lots, and moved the structure onto it, added new heat, air, plumbing, and began the process of making it a truly unique property. My love of carpentry shows in the wood work and the details. We enjoy having this home right next to ours as this allows our friends and family to come and enjoy the lake, yet have their own space for extended visits. We enjoy meeting new people, so join us here at Lake of the Woods.
What makes this House unique
Please take a moment and look at the least visually interesting, but most informing picture in the photo section: The drawing shows the relation to the lake, and from the porch of the cabin to the 25' easement that runs beside our home, to the lake. The total lake frontage is 100', including our back yard where there is a Gazebo, the sandy "beach" area (for the kiddies), the main dock has a 10' x 10' sun bathing deck at the end and room for you to tie up your boat. The canoe and row boat are for you to use, with proper equipment and safety. The power boats, jet skiis, and pontoon are not for rent. I am trying to work out something with the campground owners, who do rent pontoons but currently do not let people keep them out over night. I think I can get them to change that if they know it is at my place. That would insure multiple day rentals. The lay-out of the cabin in relation to our residence.
