Royal Gate home stay may only be a few kilometers away from the city, but it provides a peaceful haven away from any bustle, traffic fumes and noise. The beautiful Peradeniya botanical gardens for which Kandy is famed are only a ten minute tuk-tuk drive away, Kandy railway station (on the main Colombo-Kandy and Badulla-Colombo lines) is a ten minutes drive, and Kandy city itself is a fifteen minute drive. What is more,base to travel to the tea country, the temples of the North, or to Colombo and the airport.
