Spacious, atmospheric, cosy cottage with all modern amenities for cooking & relaxing. Generous breakfast provisions are provided. Delightful garden to wonder about. Privately located on a large block. The host communicates promptly & was very attentive. Thoroughly recommend this stay.

The property was absolutely stunning!! And the inside was so beautiful, had so kuch European rustic vibes. We got a few pree wedding photos here after asking the host.Will definitely stay here again in future

Exquisite cottage! From the moment you pull up you are indulged in a little bit of rural France.

Comfortable beds, lush bathroom, breakfast supplies are abundant. A delightful place to just sit and enjoy the interior and exterior of this cottage. It won't disappoint.

Winter escape

We couldn't have asked for more staying The Timber and Stone Retreat. It was just what we needed for our mid winter escape. One of the few places that we have stayed over the years where we would be more than happy to return to. Ticked all the boxes.

Relax, unwind and take in the amazing decor.

What an amazing property, the house looks like it was picked up from the Tuscan region of Italy and placed at Malmsbury. The views outside while I sat in the rattan chair in front of the fireplace, were healing to the soul. You can immerse yourself here, the gardens are beautiful. Thanks, Vanessa, for sharing this gem and the beautiful breakfast basket, it topped our stay.

Romantic getaway

We may as well have been in an estate house in the French countryside. The ambiance was perfect. We never left the property. PS No sound system so we brought our own.

Lovely host, lovely place!

Property is just so easy to relax and enjoy. The host Vanessa even surprised me with a breakfast hamper with like EVERYTHING. There are also two really cute cows on the property. Check-in was a breeze. It’s nice and quiet locationally. Easy to lull into country vibes. It’s a lovely abode and Vanessa put gorgeous pink roses in like, every room. Amazing bathroom, have a hot bath! I really don’t have ANY complaints. If there’s a next time I would love to bring someone along to enjoy it with me! I danced with the music blaring, and just loved every bit of my time there. Thanks Vanessa. the host.

Could be in the South of France

Just beautiful. Really relaxed here even having cooked breakfast and laying on blanket outside for hours just flicking through provided books. Bed was comfy. Bath was lovely. Hooks in bathroom would be helpful for towels and esp hand towel. Cupboard door under bathroom sink broken. A mirror somewhere else in house would be helpful. We had a wedding to get ready f and also wardrobe would be good. We absolutely loved it here though. We’ll come back

Amazing place, would definitely recommend a stay here. The grounds are lovely, the interiors are really well considered and warm. Really well stocked with things to do (movies, games, books). The stocked fridge was a nice touch also. It’s also very private yet close to nearby Kyneton.

Delightful French Provincial Getaway

We had a wonderful time. Very cosy, clean and well appointed accommodation. Surrounding gardens were lovely. Excellent breakfast provisions provided, and plenty of wood for the fireplace. Delightful!!

Long Weekend

We stayed for a long weekend to attend a family wedding in Taradale at this truly stunning property. The gardens were beautiful, and the breakfast provisions were perfect. We will definitely be back.
