About the host

Host profile image
Lonsdale Palms has been part of my family's life for many years. What was once the original farmhouse on five acres became a place where our family gathered to enjoy holidays by the sea and create treasured memories together.

Life took an unexpected turn when my late husband developed cancer and we discovered how difficult it was to find quality holiday accommodation that was both beautiful and genuinely wheelchair accessible. That experience changed my perspective forever.

After his passing, I was determined to create something that simply didn't exist at the time. In 2005 I began redeveloping the property, carefully restoring the original Heritage House and adding two purpose-built accessible cottages. My goal was to create a place where everyone could enjoy a relaxing coastal holiday without compromise, regardless of age or mobility.

Today I take great pride in welcoming guests from all walks of life. Whether they're celebrating a family milestone, enjoying a golf weekend, travelling with pets, recovering after surgery or simply escaping to the coast, I hope every guest feels as comfortable and welcome here as my own family always did.
"My hope has always been to create a place where accessibility, comfort and beautiful design coexist, so that every guest can enjoy the simple pleasure of a memorable holiday by the sea."

Why they chose this property

Point Lonsdale captured my heart many years ago and continues to inspire me every time I visit. As a keen birdwatcher, I love the remarkable diversity of birdlife found around the Bellarine Peninsula. Whether it's watching shorebirds along the beaches, listening to birdsong in the garden, or exploring nearby wetlands, being immersed in nature is one of life's greatest pleasures.

That appreciation extends to the area's beautiful coastline, native landscapes and the slower pace of life that encourages you to spend more time outdoors. It's a place where you can walk the beaches, cycle quiet back roads, discover local wineries, play a round of golf or simply sit with a coffee and watch the changing colours of the bay.

The property itself has its own unique history. It was originally a chicken farm, and those years left behind incredibly rich, fertile soil. As a passionate gardener, I have found enormous joy in nurturing the gardens that now surround the accommodation. Mature trees, flowering gardens and visiting birdlife create a peaceful sanctuary that many guests tell me is one of the things they remember most about their stay.
For me, Lonsdale Palms is much more than a holiday property
"One of my greatest pleasures is seeing guests discover the same sense of peace and connection with nature that first made me fall in love with Point Lonsdale."

What makes this property unique

Lonsdale Palms is much more than holiday accommodation—it's a place designed for people to spend quality time together.

The beautifully restored Heritage House combines timeless character with modern comfort, while the two architecturally designed cottages provide flexibility for couples, extended families and groups. Guests can book a single cottage for a peaceful escape or reserve the entire retreat for up to 14 guests, with plenty of space for everyone to gather and still enjoy their own privacy.

The property is recognised for its high standard of accessible accommodation, but what truly sets it apart is that accessibility is seamlessly integrated into a premium holiday experience. Gourmet kitchens, beautifully landscaped gardens, generous indoor and outdoor entertaining areas, thoughtful amenities, pet-friendly spaces and an exceptional Bellarine location all come together to create memorable stays for every guest.

Many of my guests return year after year, and seeing families create their own traditions and special memories here is one of the greatest rewards of being a host.
