This was such a gorgeous property for a weekend away with our kids and pooch. House was a great set up and even nicer in person. The lockable front fence was great for peace of mind with the kids and dog. Although it wasn’t warm enough to swim my husband and son enjoyed cleaning the pool and we all enjoyed the outside deck area. Beds were beautiful and comfortable and we would definitely stay again.

Thank you for staying at Stone, Sand & Sea -Rye! You were great guests and I’m pleased you enjoyed your stay and enjoyed the home :) I have the pool professionally cleaned fortnightly so I was disappointed to hear there was some debris in the pool - although I do know we’ve had some strong winds lately so I guess it’s unavoidable at times. We hope we will see you again soon!

The property was amazing Had so many things a normal household would need. It was clean, comfortable, fun to stay at, for the family and pets. And it was even more impressive with the things available without requesting.

Good experience

This house just feels like home, has everything a family needs well designed for a beautiful family holiday home. The only thing we found the beds to be a little hard sleeping on, otherwise I would definitely recommend this house for a family to stay. Liana

Hi Liana, glad you enjoyed the house and your stay!! I’m sorry you didn’t find the beds to your liking. It’s funny as only a few weeks ago I had guests messaging me literally asking where I got the mattresses from as they found them exceptionally comfortable! Im sorry they didn’t suit you… they are quite expensive mattresses as I know this is an important element to a memorable stay.

Beautiful property

This house suited our needs very well. The kids loved the pool and used it a lot. The wifi was a bit temperamental which annoyed the kids but the adults didn’t mind! There was enough crockery and cutlery that we weren’t always doing dishes and the living spaces were very comfortable. Very nice property

Perfect location for a relaxing summer getaway!

This property was perfect for our 2 weeks summer holiday. The courtyard pool area is sheltered ensuring it is a lovely area on both warm and cooler days. The layout of the house was great with a second lounge near the kids bedrooms - perfect for teenagers to hang out in. Air conditioning and the pool ensured hotter days were very pleasant. Lucia was easy to deal with and was quick to respond when we had an issue with the gate. Would highly recommend this property.

Hi Heruni, I’m glad you enjoyed the house, 😊 but extremely disappointed to hear a couple of things weren’t up to standard. This is very unusual as no one has ever complained… quite the opposite, I usually get compliments. I wish you had told me when you rang to ask if you could use the complimentary firewood as I would have sent someone around. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. Regards Lucia

Wonderful!

My family enjoyed our stay at Lucia's beautiful home in Rye. It has all you need for a weekend away. It's comfortable, very clean, has lovely decor, great heating and lots of space for a couple of families. We enjoyed sitting in the sun by the pool each morning - it was so peaceful. The kitchen is well equipped. There's a delongi nespresso machine, but only 1 pod was provided, so bring some pods if you're a coffee drinker. The house is close to the shops in Rye and is about a 30 min walk to the front beach. The only issue we had was that the wifi wasn't working despite resetting the modem a few times. Lucia is extremely responsive and attentive. Definitely recommend her house for your stay in Rye!

Thank you for your lovely review Elizabeth :) I’m glad you enjoyed the home and found it comfortable. That outdoor area with all the seating is definitely relaxing! I agree in regard to the internet on the Peninsula. It’s is problematic for all who live in the area, however I believe good news is on the way with internet upgrades currently underway. I’m unsure why the supply of pods was low, my fabulous cleaners usually always put out some supplies of all the basics to get guests started. It was a quick turnaround with guests leaving on the day you arrived so perhaps it was just an oversight. Thanks for looking after the house and being great guests!

Luxury and Excellence on the Peninsula

It is really difficult to do this property justice in a review, you really have to experience some time staying there. Everything about the home is first class. And no feature has been overlooked. Even the most fussy guests will be delighted with what's on offer - a lovely outlook over the beautiful, warm pool, every appliance available, comfy beds, ample space to relax including a separate living area for children or other guests with a TV, morning coffee, garden privacy, the list goes on. And host Lucia is attentive to every query while stepping back to enable you to immerse yourself in the luxury of the villa. It would be extremely difficult to top this property - we were just sad that we could not have spent more time there!

Holiday

The house was good, plenty of room and good use space. We had a few hiccups but Lucia was contactable and sorted these out for us quickly. It could do with an outdoor table, we had 7 guests and there was only 6 seats inside. The master bed was really squeaky and quite annoying, I ended up sleeping in the bunk beds with the kids. Internet is very slow, we couldn't get through a movie in the evenings without it pausing multiple times, but i think that's just the area, reception isn't great in most places.

Wonderful 6-Week Stay

We stayed here 6 weeks. It was perfect for a 3-generation family. The kids loved the pool, the bunk room, and their own private den. Furniture indoors and out was comfortable, appliances were modern, and plenty of kitchenware. Located just a mile from the Rye Pier with its beautiful beach and tons of restaurants and shops. The only thing that puzzled us was…towels! We were issued one bath and one hand towel per person with strict instructions not to use them by the pool. Having rented pool houses in six different countries, this is the first time towels were not provided. But we found that the nearby Kmart sells bath towels for $2.50, so no problem, just a puzzle. In all, we would highly recommend this place. We were very comfortable for a long stay, and Lucia was very responsive to our communications.

I’m so pleased you enjoyed the house and had a wonderful stay Karen!!! That’s great news ! Thank you for your feedback regarding beach towels. Honestly I don’t get international visitors so I’ve never found this an issue for guests but I’ll give it some thought for people travelling from overseas. :) The reason I don’t supply them is due to accomodating 11 guest. I’d have to store about 30 towels (which are large and bulky). This is logistically difficult when I’m also supplying all linen, bath towels & hand towels as I also have about 30 sets of these as well. Sure, some will be with the laundry service at any given time, but it still requires a huge amount of storage space in the house. In Australia I know I usually need to bring a towel unless staying at a major hotel. I’m glad this didn’t affect your stay, and I hope I’ve solved your puzzle :)

The host was very nice, approachable, and easy to communicate with. Her communication was great throughout, and she was kind enough to offer us an early check-in, which we really appreciated. The house itself is in a great location, very close to the beach, which was a big plus for us.However, there were a few downsides worth mentioning. We had trouble accessing the property initially as the entry code wasn’t working. We had to call the host and FaceTime her to show the issue. In the end, we left to get lunch, and when we returned over 45 minutes later, the cleaners went back inside the house finishing some jobs and had opened the door!In terms of cleanliness and for the owner’s awareness (in case she’s not aware), the hand washes appeared to be diluted with water rather than properly refilled, so we were effectively washing our hands with watery soap. Under the couch and beds was also quite dirty & dusty. Additionally, there were no shampoos & paper towels provided in the house, and basic supplies such as dishwashing tablets and coffee pods, toilet paper were very limited.Overall, while the host herself was lovely and the location was excellent, for the price paid we would have expected better cleanliness and more adequately stocked essentials.

Thanks for your feedback, Afi. Most importantly I’m really pleased to hear that you enjoyed the home, the swimming pool, and the early check-in. I appreciate you bringing the other points to my attention and will be sure to pass them on to the cleaning team so they can be addressed promptly. I always aim to provide a high standard for guests, and your comments help ensure that continues. Regarding shampoo and conditioner, you’re absolutely right — I have deliberately chosen not to provide single-use bottles as part of an effort to reduce waste and environmental impact, a trend most hosts are adopting, however in future I’ll make sure guests are aware before arriving. Thanks again for staying and for taking the time to share your experience.
