Beds/ mattresses Pillows could be updated
King bed could be in one room, Queen in the other room and a double could definitely fit in the smallest room and would be much more comfortable for an adult to sleep in.
Great location and prompt coutious response when ever I reached out! We enjoyed our family stay.
Property is very charming if you’re into high ceilings, wood floors which we all are. Amazing covered porch. If we are in Manistee area would love to stay again.
We enjoyed a clean, comfortable, thoughtfully appointed home during our first visit to Manistee. We had immediate access to the river walk, restaurants and ability to walk to the beaches and playgrounds. Besides the spacious indoor area the house provided a large covered deck with plenty of seating. We had use of beach chairs, umbrellas, indoor games and toys for the grandbabies.
All the amenities for the weather, for a beach you could want. Umbrellas, beach chairs. Great location. We only had a minor issue but host was very responsive. I would bring a sleep mask though- which I always do when I travel. The back 2 bedrooms are very bright in the AM. Lovely apartment and Manistee is such a great destination!
Very comfortable place to relax in between outings to the beach, hiking, canoeing, winery, rivers, lakes, Lake Michigan. Lots to do in this area, but we mostly just took it easy. The Place has high ceilings, hard wood floors, nice rugs, a nice kitchen, dining area, nice outside covered deck, private parking. Very near TJ's Pub and other restaurants. Ice cream and chocolates across the street. The river walk is a block away and the beach on Lake Michigan is a mile away. 30 minute walk. There's a nice park there also. And if you fish, Manistee is the place to be. We had a great time.
We had a great stay at The Place. The back porch is charming and we loved that we could step right out the front door to the street front. Great restaurants were just a few feet from the doorstep. We recommend TJ’s Pub.
This is our 3rd summer staying at The Place in Manistee. Such a great time. Close to everything and we lucked out on weather and got 3 beach days that week.
A bucket list fishing trip. This VRBO is perfect for staying close in Manistee, the stores, the riverfront, all of it. We had a great experience and recommend this place to stay.
My mom, sisters and I always take a weekend trip for Mother’s Day weekend. The Place was perfect. The accommodations were awesome and being right in town was fun. We were able to walk everywhere and really enjoyed our stay. We like to cook and we’re super impressed with how stocked the kitchen was with essentials for cooking. We’ve been many places that have only one pot or pan. We had everything we needed to cook dinner each night and breakfast each morning. Everything was super clean and beds were comfy! Communication with the host was very prompt and easy! We would all recommend this location to anyone who was looking to stay in Manistee for the weekend (or longer!). Thank you again for a great location!
The condo was perfect for 4 guys doing a golf weekend. Location was perfect for all the local golf courses. Being in downtown Manistee was also a plus. Great pubs and restaurants. The condo was clean and spacious. Will definitely be back.
This spacious apartment was the perfect location, close to shopping and the beaches. It had just about everything we needed. The toilet paper supply was very limited and there were only 2 bathroom hand towels. The host was very accommodating and responded to our
communications quickly.
Great downtown loft big enough for a busy family of 5. Close to beaches and outdoor activities and front door opens to downtowns many shops and restaurants.
We loved the location near shops, restaurants, and the riverwalk.
The apartment was super clean and the back patio was a great place to hang out. We had private parking in the back that was really convenient. The beach was just a short drive away and it was beautiful!

Why they chose this property
In my many travels for work and pleasure I make every effort to enjoy the beauty of my surroundings, as well as the history and culture of the local residents. Aside from the beautiful photos and memorable moments I share with others, I always remember where I stay. The place needs to be clean, comfortable, and convenient to areas of interest. "The Place" in Manistee does all this and more. It was built in 1882 and has retained its' charm with the original wood flooring, high ceilings and pocket doors, yet it has been refurbished to include the modern amenities that make travelers feel at home. When I travel to Manistee for a long weekend get-away, I look forward to relaxing on the deck, dining out or eating in, walking the Riverwalk to the clean and spacious beaches, taking in a beautiful sunset at Lake Michigan, and then ending the day with a good movie/book and peaceful sleep. I hope you will too!
What makes this property unique
The living space is spacious and comfortable, with amenities to make one feel at home. Private parking in the back of the building provides 2 private entrances, allowing for easy entry with luggage and groceries. Guests can watch parades from the new Pella windows or enjoy festivities at the street level, then use the private entrance on River Street to enter The Place. A new covered deck with ample seating for relaxing or dining can be enjoyed during the rain, and even on hot summer days the surrounding shade trees and offshore breeze keep the deck area comfortable.
