Lovely home. We were an extended family ages 4-67 and everyone had a great time. The property is in close proximity to several options for young and old: pool, GoKarts, spa, etc. Host was responsive and friendly.

Thank you for such kind words! We're so glad the home worked well for a multi-generational trip and that everyone, from the youngest to the oldest in the group, found something nearby to enjoy, from the pool to the go-karts to the spa. It means a lot to know communication and the overall experience were 5-star for your family. Thanks for choosing to stay with us and for sharing your experience.

Perfect Ski Trip!

Dan was amazing - we had about 11 inches of snow/ice the week of our trip and Dan came to the rescue himself to ensure the driveway was cleared and ready for us. The garage turned game room was the best addition to our trip, we spent nearly the entire trip in there! The house was well stocked and incredibly clean. Truly had everything we needed and I would absolutely go back!

From the owner: Beverly, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm glad that your group had a great vacation at our home. I work hard at making it a place that every age can enjoy to the fullest. I'd be interested in knowing why it only received four stars as opposed to 5, so I could do whatever is necessary to get those five stars every time. Thank you again for staying at The Retreat @ Massanutten."

The Retreat was the perfect place for our large group (4 families with elementary school kids). Plenty of space, a lot to do with the hot tub, heated game room in the garage and movie theater, and really close to the slopes. Dan was a great host as well!

Keri, It was our pleasure to host your group. I agree with you about the theater room. It's the only REAL theater room in the area and feels like you're in an actual movie theater! I built the home to be the type of place I would want to stay at myself. I'm glad that I am able to share it with others! Please come back again!

Great place for a family stay

Came here for my daughter's JMU graduation. We had a few families staying. Place was so much fun because there are so many spaces for people to separate/gather.. the game room, the theater, main room, front porch, back porch.... Loved it and wish I'd found this house long before graduation! Will definitely look here first next time I'm near Massanutten.
