About this property

House with garden and pool on Barthelasse island near the center of Avignon

Wonderful house in a green setting, surrounded by fields.
The house is very comfortable, functional and very bright.
A separate bedroom downstairs with its own bathroom for sharing the house with friends without embarrassment. Upstairs, the master bedroom has an air conditioner.
The garden is adjacent to the living room, you can rest there in the shade of a huge plane tree. Hammock and deckchairs are waiting for you.
A barbecue is also available on the terrace.
There are bicycles (4 or 5 adults) that you can borrow to stroll on the island or to go to the city center with the river shuttle (1 km).
A ping pong table is available.
The pool (11x3m) is to share with us in good intelligence, the priority is naturally given to the renters.
New:
A separate bedroom with its own bathroom (for 2 people) has been added in a separate room next to the house.

A dream stay! So quiet and private, with excellent hosts who were there if and when we needed them. Pool was particularly inviting. Kitchen well stocked, but the hosts leant us anything extra we needed. A really excellent stay and we are keen to return!

Great place to spend your holiday

Great place and very friendly hosts who did everything they could for a relaxed and great holiday. The house and pool are fantastic and also the surroundings. Villeneuve d’Avignon is very nice and maybe even beter for dinner than Avignon. We definitely recommend to spend at least a week in this house.

The pool area is outstanding. The place is quite but close to Avignon. You get get anywhere by bycicle. Lots of shadow to relax even on hot days.Good working wifi and the house is spacious. Christine and Martin are wonderful hosts...Thank you for the nice and relaxing stay.So all in all nothing to worry or complain about.....

Great jumping-off point for Provence

Two families - 4 adults and two 3 year olds - found this house to be a great base for a week in Provence. Christine and Martin are excellent hosts; friendly and responsive. They even invited us over to the main house for wine together with their two sons. It was too cold to use the pool while we were there, but the cottage is great, and the location on Bartholesse island is also excellent.

Holiday with Family

Christine and Martin were excellent hosts and helpful advising on what to do and ensuring our stay was great - martin even set up a TV for Olympic opening ceremony. Well kept and very well equipped peaceful house in a rural location in the island close to Avignon. Having a car is ideal as walking/cycling in the heat to Avignon is not great. A nice pool was perfect for relaxing and cooling down. We really liked Villeneuve and enjoyed several of the restaurants in the which was beautiful and less crowded than Avignon. We really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer as the area has so much to offer. We hope to return.

Heel fijn huis, heerlijke plek

We hebben een geweldige week gehad. Ondanks de hittegolf :). We waren met 7 en dat paste perfect. Huis is fijn en van alle gemakken voorzien. Prima keuken om te koken en ook BBQ. Zwembad is erg mooi aangelegd en heel lekker. We hebben een paar keer gefietst (5 fietsen!) en hebben ook een paar keer de auto bij camping Bagatelle onder de brug gezet (5 min rijden) om zo Avignon centrum in te lopen. Grote supermarkt op 10 minuten rijden. Villeneuve les Avignon is erg leuk dorp met lekkere restaurantjes en prachtig fort, kasteel en klooster. En op zaterdag Brocante onder het kasteel. Onze gastheer en gastvrouw waren heel prettig en gezellig in de omgang en hebben ons veel tips gegeven. Brood van bakker naast camping is heerlijk!!!! Kortom: hele fijne plek!

Le gîte est idéalement situé. Il est facile de découvrir la région. Le gîte est confortable et il y fait bon vivre. Le prêt des vélos est un véritable plus car il est aisé de circuler à Avignon et Villeneuve les Avignon à vélo. Les hôtes sont charmants, discrets mais présents et réactifs lorsque cela s'est montré nécessaire. Une attention particulière doit être portée sur les escaliers et la piscine avec de jeunes enfants.

Superbe maison

Très bon accueil de Christine. Maison très propre, spacieuse et très bien aménagée. Nous avons adoré nous asseoir sous le grand arbre sur la terrasse. La piscine était magnifique pour se rafraîchir après une excursion et était entretenue chaque jour par les propriétaires de la maison. Notre séjour sur l'île de la Barthelasse a été une réussite. Merci beaucoup Christine ☺️

Schönes Haus in schöner Umgebung

Wir waren 2 Wochen im Haus. Das Haus ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr gut ausgestattet. Der Garten und der Pool sind wunderschön und haben maßgeblich zu unserem erholsamen Uraub beigetragen. Die Lage des Hauses ist für einen Urlaub in und um Avignon perfekt. Unweit der Stadt und vieler anderer Sehenswürdigkeiten und dennoch ruhig und idyllisch in ländlischer Umgebung. Christine und ihr Mann Martin sind sehr herzliche und sympathische Gastgeber. Wir haben nichts vermisst und kommen gerne wieder! Vielen Dank!

Charming House with great outdoor space

Characterful house in a quiet area but within a short drive (and free parking) of Avignon. Our hosts were very helpful and welcoming. Walking into Avignon was not really practical in the summer heat, but a lovely place to relax and enjoy a swim after exploring the surrounding area.

Traumaufenthalt in der Provence

Wunderschönes Haus mit tollem Pool, ruhig gelgen mitten im Grünen auf der ile de la Barthelasse und trotzdem nur 10 Minuten mit den hauseigenen Fahrräder vom Stadtzentrum in Avignon entfernt. Das Haus war sehr gepflegt mit allem erdenklichen Komfort. Besonders zu erwähnen sind der tolle Poll und die schönen Sitzmöglichkeiten auf der großen schattigen Terrasse unter einer alten Platane. Die sehr netten Vermieter stehen jederzeit bei Fragen zur Verfügung. Hier gibt es nichts zu vermissen, wenn man einen tollen Urlaub in der Provence verbringen möchte, der die Nähe zur Stadt und trotzdem eine ruhige Umgebung im Grünen verbindet. Besonders in der Zeit des Theater-Festivals! Wir können das Haus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Die Lage ist wunderbar ruhig und doch stadtnah. Die Gastgeberin wohnt direkt nebenan und unterstützt sehr freundlich bei Bedarf. Diese Unterkunft ist unbedingt zu empfehlen.

Très belle maison, magnifique terrasse

Idéal pour profiter de l’ete avignonnais

Cette maison a été élégamment rénovée mais l’atout majeur de cette location est son extérieur. Une terrasse ombragée et au calme absolu. Un espace piscine très agréable et avec beaucoup de charme. Très bon accueil des propriétaires qui nous ont partager les bonne idées de visite ou les commerces a ne pas rater (comme le glacier de Villeneuve les Avignon !).

Eine tolle Woche!

Liebe Christine, wir haben eine wunderbare Woche in ihrem schönen Haus verbracht. Alles ist genau wie beschrieben und auf dem Photos zu sehen. Der Ort ist gut gelegen um viele schöne Ausflüge zu unternehmen.

Une belle découverte à deux pas d’Avignon

Superbe endroit pour ceux qui aiment le calme et la nature. Idéal pour se ressourcer mais aussi découvrir la magnifique ville d’Avignon et des villages aux environs . Très appréciable aussi les chambres avec leurs salles de bain, la piscine , le hamac, le barbecue, le Ping Pong… Et, une rencontre inattendue de la propriétaire qui exerce le métier que le mien . Je recommande cet endroit .

Why they chose this property

This house was inhabited during 15 years by the same person nd when she left, we decided to rent it for seasonal stays. We rent last summer to comedians who played in the festival of Avignon 2013.

What makes this property unique

Charming house where we feel good, according to the visitors there, functional and very well placed. The island of the barthelasse is one of green lungs of Avignon where you can make walk (bike rides, on foot or in roller). We can join Avignon in bike and cross the Rhône with the river shuttle. A big parking is also in the entrance of Avignon and a bus leads you to ramparts.
