About this property

Cozy A-frame cabin 1/2 block from the gorgeous Sylvan Lake beach, parks & pubs

Our adorable renovated cabin is half a block from the gorgeous Sylvan Lake beach, children's parks, restaurants and pubs. Go skating on the lake just a block away, near the amazing Christmas light display and open fire pits on the beach. There is so much to do in Sylvan Lake, any time of the year! Enjoy our firepit, front deck, and canoe if you wish. Parking provided - you can walk anywhere from the cabin and save the parking fees!

Our cozy A-frame has been completely renovated and updated with new appliances, fixtures, beds, and furniture. The open loft has a queen sized bed, reading nook, and little balcony off the front. Downstairs boasts a bright & functional living room / dining room with lots of board games to choose from, record player, TV with Netflix & Disney+, fast wifi, and Bluetooth speaker. The modern rustic decor offers lots of seating, including a large pullout sofa.

The galley style kitchen is all new, including a few different options for your morning coffee. From there you will find the bathroom which has brand new everything. Finally, the bright & spacious master bedroom which also has a new queen bed, enclosed washer and dryer, and an open-concept ensuite bathroom with a large soaker tub. All of the soaps and hair products are cruelty free, vegan friendly, paraben free and free of sulfates. The space is entirely heated by two gas fireplaces, one in the master bedroom and one in the living room.

Outside we have a firepit, front porch, expansive front lawn and a cozy little private back yard as well. There are parking spaces from the back lane, so you can forget paying for parking and walk everywhere from this perfect location. Please note that while the cabin is great for kids, the stairs to the loft are "attic" style stairs (half ladder - half stairs). Licensed short term rental with the Town of Sylvan Lake - STAR-04769

The cabin, the charm and overall “feel” of the space exceeded our expectations. It was clean, organized and had everything we needed. LOVED the record player, great touch! The house was cute and fairly close to the beach, which we appreciated, but there were quite a few issues that impacted our stay. Basic supplies were missing, including paper towels, a broom, dishwasher pods, laundry detergent, cooking oil, and even basic seasonings. There were also several maintenance problems. The breaker tripped multiple times for no apparent reason, and because the fridge was on the same breaker, it repeatedly lost power. We didn’t realize it immediately, and some of our food spoiled. About half the outlets didn’t work, one fan was broken, the water pressure was inconsistent, the front door lock wasn’t very user-friendly, and the loft stairs felt steep and unsafe.The property also backs onto an alley and a motel. During our stay we witnessed people yelling about stabbings, apparent drug use, and intoxicated adults, which made us feel uncomfortable. I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable bringing children here or letting them play outside unsupervised.I also want to be fair to the hosts. I didn’t contact them during our stay, and I’m sure they would have tried to help. However, by the time we realized how many different issues there were, I didn’t want to spend our vacation coordinating repairs or having people coming in and out while we were trying to relax with friends. I chose to leave 3 stars because I didn’t give the hosts the opportunity to address these concerns, but I hope they’re resolved for future guests.

Our local property manager is always just a message away and would have been happy to bring additional supplies or help troubleshoot anything that came up, including the electrical issue, so your vacation wasn't interrupted. After your stay, we thoroughly checked the home and confirmed everything is working properly. We also took the opportunity to review the items you mentioned to ensure everything was in order for our next guests.
