About this property
Cozy traditional A-frame Cabin, SKI IN AND OUT!
Pretty much everyone who walks in the door says, "now THIS is what a mountain cabin is supposed to feel like!" We have ski patches on the wall, trophies left from long-ago ski races, a wood burning fireplace, old ski posters for decor, a deck and big yard for kids, cozy bedrooms with lots of quilts and then! In the winter you are only a few steps from the lifts and in the summer, hiking begins out the front door.
The cabin was built by our parents in1963 when there wasn’t much going on except great skiing. Since then we have spent many a great ski season and many a warm Montana summer night enjoying this special place. It's fully equipped but still cozy. It has Internet and TV and great old-fashioned style. When you walk in the door you are in the ski room where you can stash all the gear. The kitchen, dining and living area are just around the corner and there you'll find the wood burning fireplace and a dining table that can hold 6-8. On the main floor you'll also find the bathroom and two bedrooms, one equipped with a queen and the other with two twin beds. Upstairs there is a small open loft (good for kid's play) and then a large bedroom holding a king and a queen bed.
The location is amazing. You can see Chair 3 out the (big) front windows and it is literally steps away. As kids, we would ski home for chili at lunchtime. As adults, it’s just a few minutes walk to all the bars and restaurants on the mountain. This fun cabin is full of great memories and is ready for more! If you aren’t already sold on Whitefish Mountain as a vacation, let me brag on it a bit. In winter, you’ll find some of the best terrain in the west. The views into Glacier Park are extraordinary and the services on the mountain are excellent. In summer the hiking trails are plentiful and there are zip-lines, slides and other entertainment. Nearby Whitefish (10 minutes) is one of the coolest big towns in the west, full of good shopping, golf, lake activities, ambiance and cuisine. And then there is the Crown of the Continent, Glacier Park, only a 45 minute drive away.
All this is available to you—and our little cabin is also only 30 minutes from the airport—and no traffic.

About the host
Hosted by Shelley Geiszler
We (Don, Debby and Shelley) are siblings. Our parents built this cabin when we were kids and we've spent many a wonderful time in this fun cabin. We all live an hour or two away but continue to share it with our kids and grandchildren.
Why they chose this property
First, because our parents had the great foresight to build it in 1963, but mostly because there would be family mutiny if we sold it! Everyone loves the cabin and has many warm memories of good and meaningful times here.
What makes this property unique
1. It's a little old-fashioned island in the middle of a good-sized ski resort and major recreation center. 2. ski in/out 3. it's simple and brings family together
