Featuring a Juliette balcony as well as upstairs bathroom with double rain-head showers and soaking bath for two, with views to die for over rolling vineyards clear to the Willunga ranges. Along with mortar inscriptions going back 150 years, this 90m2 luxury suite has a beautiful glass cutout in the kitchen floor, revealing secret items unearthed during the building’s recent restoration. Originally where grains were sorted and bagged, “the Granary” also has an utterly unique chaff chute adorned with century-old graffiti- now the pantry door in the fully-appointed kitchen. The king bed in this suite can also be separated into two king singles.

About the host
Hosted by Richard Jasek
As artists from film, television and theatre, we love meeting new people and giving them special memories. Richard has worked as a television producer and director on iconic shows ranging from "Neighbours" to "McLeods Daughters", and Bernice has transitioned from costume designer to beauty therapist. Having traveled widely before discovering the Fleurieu Peninsula 15 years ago, we look forward to sharing with you the secrets of one of the world's most beautiful areas.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with the Chaff Mill from the moment we first saw it, and dreamed of restoring it. Little did we know it would be nearly a decade before we could begin, and then the restoration would take six long years! Builders and sensible people told us to simply knock it down and use the stones for something else. But as artists we couldn’t let the building die and take its stories with it. Now a Phoenix reborn from its century-old ashes, the Chaff Mill’s stories are something we love to offer to you.
What makes this property unique
It’s utterly unique, and just a lovely place to stay- see a few of our reviews on Google.
