Unbeatable Location!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were in Crested Butte for the Living Journeys Peak Hike and this location was ideal. The property description was accurate with regard to amenities and layout. I would recommend CB Lodging and this property to guests looking for an on-mountain location.

Response from VrboOwner on 30 Jul 2026

Thank you for your kind review! We're so happy the condo was a great fit for your Peak Hike weekend and that the location worked out so well. We really appreciate the recommendation and hope to welcome you back to Crested Butte for another adventure soon!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location and price were great. The condo could use some updates. The blinds in the rooms were old and didn't work properly. The bathroom could use new caulking. There were no screens on the windows and without ac and not being able to open the windows this is a necessary update. The bed felt unstable - my husband and I are small people but it felt too high and like it might fall.

Response from VrboOwner on 22 Jul 2026

Thanks so much for staying with us and for taking the time to share your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the location and found the condo to be a good value. We also appreciate you pointing out the items that could use some attention. We'll pass your comments about the blinds, bathroom caulking, window screens, and bed frame along to the owner as we continue making improvements. Guest feedback like yours really helps us prioritize updates. Thanks again, and we hope you'll consider staying with us again on a future trip to Crested Butte!

Excellent location for skiing! There was a broken table lamp, the knives needed sharpening, and we could have used a cheese grater, but other than that, we were very happy with this unit!

Ski locker was the best part given the surprising lack of elevator & lugging ski equipment around. The kitchen was poorly stocked - 5 forks (all a different pattern) for a unit that sleeps 6? Had to ask for glasses (which were promptly provided) & a new toaster after one there was dangerously instantly burning bread! Master bed was high & weird, while overall decor eclectic & deary (with a gray ceiling instead of white).

Stayed 6 nights in Mar 2026

Response from VrboOwner on 20 Apr 2026

Thanks for the feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to share it. Glad to hear the ski locker was a highlight! It definitely makes a difference with gear, especially in a building without an elevator. We also appreciate the notes on the kitchen setup. That’s not the standard we aim for, and we’ll get those items restocked and take a closer look at the toaster situation. Happy we were able to get you what you needed quickly while you were here. The building is an older mountain setup, and the decor can vary a bit, but we’ll keep your comments in mind as we look at future updates. Thanks again for staying with us and for the candid feedback.

Great views and location!

The view of the mountains from the porch is stunning. Mother nature, with her ever changing weather, has a way of changing the scenery without changing your location. The unit was just a short walk to the bus that takes you down into Crested Butte. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay here again when we come back.

Nice Ski Condo

Location is wonderful for skiing. The steps are not ideal for carrying your stuff in/out with tired legs, but location is worth it. I wish there was a bit more sound proofing because we could hear footsteps above us and vehicles in the parking lot. Kitchen had everything we needed. Everything was clean. The bedroom has enough space to fit a pack n play. We would stay here again.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Lovely condo in a great location. The ski lift was behind the building, so would be ideal for winter rental. There was no hand soap or bar soap upon arrival, so had to go to the grocery store to get some. Otherwise, it was ok stocked.

Response from VrboOwner on 22 Jul 2025

Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the location and convenience to the ski lift—definitely a winter favorite. We appreciate the note about the soap and will make sure to have that stocked for future guests. Please don’t hesitate to call us anytime if something comes up during your stay—we’ll do everything we can to make sure you have a great stay. Thanks again for staying with us!

Location could not be beat!

The property was clean, with what appeared to be a newly updated kitchen, although the building is a little dated generally. There is no elevator. The bedroom was a little cramped with two sets of beds in it, but it worked well enough for us. The best part of the place was the location. Literally steps away from the lifts, ski rentals and the mountain base. We will definitely stay here agin.

Great location

Stayed here with a group of 4 adult men on a guys ski trip. Location is wonderful. Space worked for us but would be tight for any more. We heard a lot of noise through the night from the loading dock at the hotel next door. I never received an email with check in information so that was a very cumbersome process of having to ask ski patrol (their office is in the first floor) who we needed to talk to!

Stayed 4 nights in Jan 2024

The Axtell is a great location!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I really enjoyed the location of the Axtell accommodations. Being located directly in front of the lifts and only a few hundred feet from the ski rentals it made renting and returning our equipment very easy. Crested Butte is a great ski mountain with a small town feel.

GREAT location for skiing and very comfy!

This property is in a GREAT location for skiing! Really, just walk around the balcony of the building and walk a few steps up to the lifts. We used Silver Queen the most but there are several options. The property was very comfortable for our needs. It was nice to have the bunk beds and the pull out couch so our 3 kids could spread out. Even though we were on the "back side" (not facing the lifts), we still had beautiful views of the mountains. The property managers were quick to respond each time I had questions.

Great Location terrible beds

So nice to walk out to the lift, so easy. The queen bed is worse than sleeping in the ground. 10in of memory foam makes it so you can move once you lay down. Only 4 forks so we had to eat in shifts. This is a location location stay only. My car was hit and run in the parking lot so watch out for your car. No cameras in property for parking lot protection.

Response from VrboOwner on 25 Apr 2025

Thanks so much for sharing your experience, James. You can always message or call us if something doesn't seem quite right. We're hear to help and would have been happy to restock the forks during your stay. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and the silverware has since been replenished. more attention to detail with this one bedroom

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location is wonderful particularly in ski season. This is a one room condo. The bedding and linen were sparse as were the appointments in the kitchen - mismatched random glassware, no kitchen linen and the drawers inside the kitchen weren't clean. Was expecting more based on the photographs.
