Windmill Lodge felt to our family a home away from home. Tanya a delight to talk to before our visit and during. We all loved everything about our stay. The facilities both in the house and outside where amazing. I would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone for a weekend away or longer if you’re lucky. My grandchildren loved the pool, all the games, horses, and Ofcourse feeding Jill the cat. Thank you Windmill Lodge.

We had an amazing weekend at Windmill lodge celebrating a birthday. The house is incredible - our only regret is booking too many activities and not getting to enjoy the balcony / bbq / pool area more. Tanya and Paul were great hosts stocking us with firewood for the pizza oven and home baked brownies on arrival. Thanks for a great stay

This was the perfect place for our family of 16, and we had an absolutely wonderful weekend. Every aspect of the property exceeded our expectations—it was incredibly well equipped with games and toys for all ages, a fantastic pool, a fully stocked kitchen, and excellent outdoor facilities that made relaxing and spending time together so easy. The location was simply stunning and added to the whole experience. We truly loved our time there and are already looking forward to returning. Tanya and Paul were exceptional hosts, making everything seamless and even more enjoyable.

The entire property was outstanding. We are a group of mates (10 of us, since childhood) playing a sports tournament and always stay together. Windwill Lodge had everything we needed. Pool for recovery, large outdoor space for BBQ and few beverages. Enough rooms and beds. The place was immaculate. Tanya and Paul (great down-to-earth bloke) were great hosts and communication was fantastic. Absolutely the best place we've stayed, and we've been doing this for a long time..

We had an excellent weekend break with friends. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and the house is perfectly equipped with many additional thoughful additions not seen elsewhere. Highly recommended!

Impeccable place and everyone loved the way the house was setup. Multiple seating areas for the whole family to spend time. We were a group of friends but would love to visit the place again for family events. We highly recommend the place. FAMILY FUN AT WINDMILL LODGE

We had a fantastic family stay in this exceptionally comfortable, roomy and practical house. The space, versatility and view out the back were superb. The owner was very accommodating in every way and we enjoyed our contacts with her.

Fantastic getaway house!

Tanya and Paul’s house was unreal for our group, well situated close enough to Newcastle but in a nice quiet area with a beautiful pool and backyard! The house was super clean and the contact with the owners was super quick and easy! Would recommend to anyone.

Amazing stay

Property is beautiful with lots of room and something for everybody from 3 generations. We loved our week there for our family holiday. We had 21 family members with more than enough room for everybody in comfort. Outdoor area and pool were awesome and the kids loved all the animals and space to play. Will definitely return!

This house was amazing. A big relaxing home with a resort feel about it. The host was very accommodating and communication was excellent. Plenty of space and very clean. We had an excellent experience here. Highly recommended especially for larger groups.

We had a 3 generation family gathering at Windmill Lodge to celebrate my mothers 80th. What a fabulous property for it - loads of space, ideally set up for big family dining both indoors and out, and super well equipped. Its a genuinely interesting Lodge too. Fantastic Home in a Great Location with Excellent Facilities

Our stay at Windmill Lodge was 100% awesome. The home and property are magnificent and are presented wonderfully. The coffee machine and pizza oven were massive hits with our guests and we had an amazing time. I would 100% recommend Windmill Lodge for others looking for a stay in Newcastle. Lovely semi-rural setting, but only minutes from shopping and all that Newcastle has to offer.

Milestone Birthday Event

The house was perfect for our party of 11 people to celebrate a family milestone birthday. Many great areas within the house to play, relax, chat and rest. The host was very accommodating for our last minute booking owing to the recent rains & floods Newcastle was suffering from at the time. The kitchen, dining and lounge area was perfect for the catering team to prepare and serve the birthday meal. An excellent stay and will most certainly return.

Perfect for large family gathering

Windmill Lodge is a beautiful family home that suited our group of 20, (half kids, adults) very well. There are lovely spaces inside and out to gather or spend some quiet time. The kitchen is a dream to prepare large family dinners and the barista coffee machine was well used and appreciated by our group. Tanya was so helpful and welcoming. The location meant we could comfortably stay on the property or visit in the region - horseriding, go karting and wine tasting all available within 30 minutes. We would definitely return.

The best Stay in Newcastle

We held my wife's 40th birthday at the property with friends and family, we had more children than adults, ranging from 1 to 11 years old. The property is stunning with the kids able to run around the grounds, see the horses and chickens and enjoy being kids without technology. The cooking and long grazing options are incredible which made for a truly lovely relaxed weekend spent with family and friends. The hosts are truely outstanding and ensured we had a weekend we won't forget, and we will be back!!!

Family Xmas in July

Windmill lodge was a great location for our family Xmas in July. It’s not easy finding a place that will accommodate 16 adults and 6 children in various family units - Windmill Lodge fit the bill. It’s designed for big groups with generous dining tables and lounge seating. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook a feast. Tanya the host was lovely and made our stay easy and pleasant. We’ll be back for next year’s Xmas in July

Hi Anne, Paul and I are not sure why you decided to award us a 8/10 for your visit last year? It is our lowest rating ever in 7years of hosting. It does have us perplexed 🤷‍♀️ However, we know you had a wonderful time at Windmill Lodge and we are pleased that you and your large family (and fur friends) loved your stay so much that you decided to rebook again this year (July 2025) 🤣 Thank you for being wonderful guests for a second time. Amazing doesn’t cover it

We are a very large group so to find a property to fit us all for our event was a challenge. Windmill Lodge was more than we could have hoped for. Tanya and Paul were just beautiful and we would absolutely recommend their beautiful home. We had a group that ranged from 20 months old to 63 years and all felt comfortable and accommodated for.

Incredible

The property was amazing, but I can’t say enough about Tanya and Paul. We had a large group travel to Newcastle for a family emergency and they were able to have the house ready in basically half a day. It didn’t feel like we were staying at a hotel, it felt like we were at home. They couldn’t have done any more for us and we will forever appreciate it. We are looking at booking it again in the future for a more joyous occasion.
