Lovely home and the whole process was easy. If you are using/renting a boat for your stay, please be aware that the dock space is tight and shallow so extra care is needed to dock and exit.
Quiet getaway location near Craytor Lake - perfect for R&R. Great kitchen - and plenty of sleeping space. Internet Connectivity wasn’t good - but an opportunity to put the devices down and reconnect playing some good old fashioned board games. Would go back!

Appalachian Trail Trip
Stay was okay. Disappointed no lake view or internet/wifi. Beds need upgrading. Kitchen fully stocked. Lots of steps! Quiet. Good get-away stop on our trip.
Misleading information. Lake access is actually 12.6 miles away, requiring 7 fee at the state park. The only access is via 82 steep steps and an ankle-breaking trail to shallow water, where a boat is necessary to reach the lake. The 20-plus stairs without a rail from the parking area require lugging all belongings, trips to the car, and walking in the area very difficult. The house was clean and comfortable. Internet would have been a plus.
We initially chose this property because it was a halfway meeting point for three couples. The accommodations exceeded expectations. The layout of the living room and kitchen provided a nice flow for all to hangout. We brought kayaks and bikes and spent time exploring the river as well as the local trails. We even brought our cat who enjoyed sitting on the porch and window sills. The only thing we wish we could change was the size of the two first floor bedrooms. A little small but not a deal breaker. Overall a wonderful little vacation home.
We were in VA to celebrate our daughter's white coat ceremony at VMCVM. Most of our time was spent in Blacksburg, but we did explore Craytor Lake State Park and had dinner in Radford. This house was perfect for us. Everything we needed to make our stay comfortable was provided. The area is beautiful and quiet. The property is very pet-friendly (we were traveling with our dog). She enjoyed walking along the road and got to see cows up close and personal for the first time. The listing is accurate - there is access to the lake via a dock (down a steep set of stairs). There is also access to a lake overview via a short, easy trail.
Had a bumpy start but the property manager and owner were amazing in resolving things asap. Everything was great after that. Way more stairs than I realized even though they warn you!
No wifi and cell service is very spotty as one would expect. Not a criticism, just an observation. There are a good deal of steps to deal with so beware if you have mobility issues. The lake itself is a walk away, no direct views from the house. The rear deck needs some TLC.
Very clean. Very spacious. Already had board games and stuff to do in the house! My family and I really enjoyed it. Steps to water was killer and the jacuzzi in master bathroom didn’t work. Called the owner the next day to let them know. They didn’t come fix it which was bummer. But overall it was perfect.

Great place!
A group of friends and I rented this cabin to hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains. So while we didn't spend much time in the cabin, it was everything we needed. Many details were paid attention to, including some garbage bags, laundry pods, dish/hand soap, toilet paper, dishwasher pods, sponges, k cups for the keurig- just little things that make the trip better. Only thing that would be nice is if there was WiFi. Cell service was very in and out- we have AT&T and Verizon and both were one bar. It is advertised as not having cable either, but there was cable in living room and master bedroom- so we got to watch some March Madness Basketball!

Not Lakefront - poor location
very small bedrooms and weird bathroom setup; additionally, not much privacy for anyone with the loft setup. outdoor deck very dirty/ unusable and the walk down and over the creek/water to the dock was VERY LONG. Felt a little misled by photos and description. Not what we had hoped for.

We were looking for a place to take our family to get them away from our everyday life. We found this place on the on the Internet and read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. We then arrived there, and the house was very clean, very big and spacious. To get in the front door they gave us a lockbox code. We were understood by owner town is a bit of a distance, so definitely get what you need if you don’t have intentions of leaving plenty of cups silverware, plates, everything that you need to leave your normal life outside of Internet And Wi-Fi for the kids, which is what we were looking to get rid of for the weekend. You will have a great time. There are plenty of trails. If you like the outdoors and you want to take your family away from the easy life and get them onto their outdoor outdoors. This is a place to go. We will definitely be running again from them in the future and thank you for allowing us to stay in your home .
We met our college aged daughters here for a break from the dorms and studying. We enjoyed lots of good meals- kitchen was well stocked with everything. Lots of tea and hot chocolate choices. We enjoyed our time in the local state parks.
The house was very nice, clean. It is very comfortable and has everything you would need. We had a great time.
However
Walking down the steps from the driveway to the front door is difficult. If you have problems walking up or down steps this could be difficult. Handrails on all steps would be a big help. A number of local dogs wonder around the house and do there business everywhere, to include the front door area.
My family had a nice mid-week stay. The house was as-expected, and we had the lake pretty much to ourselves. Mountain2Island delivered a rental kayak and paddle board right to the community dock for us, and we had a great time paddling around the coves and swimming.
I absolutely love the house and the area, but saying lakefront is a little off. There is flights of stairs that are steep, wooded walkway and then a path in a ravine to get to the lake. Still a beautiful place to stay. We enjoyed it!
