Reunion of old friends

We truly enjoyed staying at the cottage. It was comfortable, and charming. We appreciated a chance to stay in an older home, as I always wished we could have a home like that.We also appreciated the ability to take our little doggies with us. We had a great time in Wilmington :)

Beautiful stay in Wilmington!!

We loved our stay at Dena's home in Wilmington. We had such a great week. Great location, close to downtown Wilmington shops/restaurants and to Wrightsville beach! The house had everything we needed and was just as it was shown in pictures.

Beautiful and comfortable

We loved our stay! The home has historic character with amazing great quality furnishings. The beds were superb! We loved the cute, walkable neighborhood, just a couple of blocks to a city park where our dogs could run. I would definitely visit again. Thanks for having us. 😊

Awesome home, awesome neighborhood

We have stayed at Dena’s place twice. The location is perfect. The first stay we took our Cavalier King Charles. The neighborhood was perfect to walk him. The house is great. There’s a swing on the front porch so you can sit and relax. Dena was very nice and went beyond to make our stay great!

Great accommodations in a vibrant neighborhood

The home was perfect for my wife and me; and our doggy. Enjoyed taking walks in the neighborhood with our lab. Very eclectic feel with great landscaping ideas. Able to stay on my running schedule at the local YMCA, around the block and out at Greenfield park which is a few minute drive. The home has a very comfortable feel with a great porch out front to relax. Seemed to be in close proximity to everywhere we wanted to go. Recommend staying here when you're in the area.

Nice home - great location

Nice home in a quaint , walkable neighborhood . Location was excellent for visiting downtown and adjoining neighborhoods, restaurants/bars and local attractions. Beaches were also accessible within 20 minutes or so. The home was well appointed and the kitchen well stocked; host was very pleasant and responsive. It's an older home and has a few areas that could use some tlc, but overall quite charming comfortable - and an excellent value.

Great place to stay in Wilmington

We had a great extended stay in Wilmington and couldn’t have landed at a better location. The home is very comfortable and clean with everything you’d need for a perfect stay. One of the best features of the home is the front porch and it’s where we spent much of our “down time.” The neighborhood is very walkable and in a historic area of town within close proximity to many delicious restaurants. Communication with Dena was excellent, and she even helped me find a dog sitter for days when we were out on the water boating. There’s no doubt we’ll be back in the near future.

Lovely location

Hubby and I enjoyed our stay at denas place. Loved walking around the neighborhood seeing all the historical houses especially decorated for Halloween. House is immaculate and plenty of room for two couples. Dena communicated with us about everything and even checked to see if all was well. Short drive to wilmington center to enjoy wonderful restaurants and shops. Easy drive to beach. Perfect location. Peaceful and quiet at night. Lovely front porch to sit and rock.

Very pleasant house to stay in and great location

This house is close to downtown and convenient to everything else. It's in a nice, quiet old-style front-porch neighborhood. We were looking for a historic vibe and a place to take our little dog, and the house met that criteria and had all the modern conveniences. There was nothing lacking. There's even a nice greenspace park two blocks down the road for dog walking, but the house has a fenced in yard as well. Though there's a lot of other places one could stay if you didn't have a pet, I would put this at the top of the list even if I didn't. I would definitely want to book this again if I need a place in downtown Wilmington.

Not what we thought……..

Unfortunately the weather was terrible and we cut our trip short. I was surprised by the neighborhood….not great. When we looked at this property in line it was shown as very close to the water….it’s not. Place was cozy with a lot of wear and tear. Lacked on street parking …just no spaces available. Boat and trailer were parked very close to the driveway making it challenging to get in and out.

History will repeat itself...Will Return!!

Southern, Chic, Charming. When I think of yellow, I think of pineapples and pineapples in my mind represent WELCOME. This precious historic YELLOW cottage bungalow packed a whole lot of "Welcome" in it! It felt "like home" in its decor and little details. I have a love for the little details and this house has them all throughout! Cozy blankets out in the living room, a miniature library in one bedroom, soap, shampoo, conditioner all provided in dispensers in BOTH bathrooms--you choice of a clawfoot shower/tub or traditional shower/tub, ALL linens provided, frosted glasses for your adult beverage in the freezer awaiting your first sit back and relax brew--perhaps on the front porch swing or rocker, clean, detailed instructions in plain view for electronics, etc. My husband and I were staying to celebrate our anniversary and to disconnect from the chaos of everyday life of work and toddlers. This precious house aided in our successful R&R bc we had to pack so little to go and felt like we were in a hotel bc of the bed being made already, towels laid out in the bathroom, etc, YET, we had this in a rental home! Also, we had the chance to easily get to the beach in Wrightsville. We really loved being able to stay so close to the beach without paying beach house pricing. I cannot tell you how carefully thought out this owner's house was for renters. This house must say a lot about the owner, Dena, who was wonderful to work with Thank you, kindly, for sharing your piece of history with us. History will repeat itself because my husband and I are sure to visit and book this specific house again.

Had a wonderful month's stay at Carolina Cottage. Charming home! Spent many a morning having coffee on the front porch in the rocking chairs or swing. Very safe neighborhood, lots of dog walkers going by, and friendly neighbors.The house is well appointed. Nice TVs in living room and each bedroom. Well supplied kitchen with dishes, utensils, pots, pans, coffee maker, Keurig, toaster. Beautiful woodwork throughout the house, hardwood floors, antiques, nicely decorated.Dena and Darren were great hosts. Very fast to respond to questions or any needs I had while there. I would highly recommend staying here.

Carolina Cozy Cottage was the perfect place for us to stay with our pup. The home is comfortable and in a great location! We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood and how convenient it was to get to everything we wanted to do. There were even supplies for our pup which was great since we forgot his water and food bowl!5/5 stars! I highly recommend this truly cozy cottage.

The house is absolutely charming, just like the neighborhood. Dena was so kind and thoughtful, she makes you feel right at home! They have everything you need - even potty bags for your dogs. And they are SO amazing about bringing your pups. Seriously if you are considering this property go for it. The location is perfect, its a happy little house, and the hosts are top notch!

This was a great property in a great location. It was really cute and had everything we needed. The porch was great for relaxing and people watching. All of the neighbors said hi when they walked by and the little dog next door was cute and friendly with our dog. The location was very convenient to the downtown/ riverfront area.

Great cozy home!

Cozy Getaway in the cutest neighborhood

This cozy cottage was exactly what the doctor ordered for our family getaway. The house had everything we needed (the front porch got a lot of use:)), the beds were comfy, and we felt right at home. Easy drive to the beach and super close to downtown! Dena is the best and took great care of us!

Quaint Historic Home

My husband and furry kids enjoyed our stay at the yellow cottage. The neighborhood is mature with older homes, trees and friendly people. The house is comfortable, nicely decorated with a vintage feel. Dena the host is accommodating, quick to respond and lovely to deal with. Old world charm with southern hospitality.

We are a couple who LOVES Wilmington and restoring/renovating historic homes. This is one of the many reasons we fell in love with Wilmington many, many moons ago. We moved from the Durham/Raleigh area and are working hard to finish our "forever home" in Downtown Wilmington.

Outside of renovation and hospitality, we are foodies, love the beach, entertaining with friends and family, creating cocktails and taking our rescue doggie MaciGrey any and everywhere with us! This is why we NEVER charge pet fees or pet deposits for our rentals.

Why they chose this property

This neighborhood is idyllic! It is full of thoughtfully restored historic homes, tons of sidewalks to walk the doggies or push the stroller and front porches where neighbors sip cocktails in the afternoons or coffee in the mornings all while waving to everyone that passes by.

What makes this property unique

The statement that "Gilmore Girls" meets "The Andy Griffith Show" resonates and you will feel that vibe when you arrive. And, I have had more than one Guest say that exact thing.

The home where the lead character (Lucas) from One Tree Hill is located 2 doors up Wrightsville Ave.

When I walked inside for the first time, the home had not been stripped to its studs. It still retaining the original windows, floors, interior French doors, cracked and wayward plaster walls, wood doors and hardware. When I walked outside onto the porch, there were neighbors across the street introducing themselves to me.....I knew this was the place!!! I've kept it true to its heritage as much as possible.

Pet Friendly! Two Full Bedrooms....Two FULL Baths (one with a claw foot bathtub and rain shower) as well as Parking for TWO vehicles located in the back right at the back door! No fighting for street parking like many of the neighbors! Sheets and towels are provided and included in the rate (There is not an additional charge as many other homes). 2 porches, white picket fence and beautiful landscaping add more character to the home!

My home is still a work in progress, as most 100-year old homes are; so, please excuse its quirks and imperfections. Thank you for your love of older homes!!
