Where else do you have such an easy walk to the greatest beach in the Midwest and to downtown St. Joseph for ice cream, dining and shopping? Come in and enjoy Blue Spruce Haven, our cozy “cottage-within-a-house” at the prime corner of Lake Boulevard and Price Steet. The house sits on the bluff above Lake Michigan, and it is a quick walk down to Silver Beach Park.

Silver Beach is consistently rated as one of top “family-friendly” beaches in the U.S., and is known for its wide, clean sands, spacious bathhouses and the near-by historic carousel and refreshing Compass Fountain sprinkler park. New this year is a playground/climbing gym and an upgraded concession and convenience stand.

Our summer rental unit is entirely self-contained, with its own outside entrance, laundry room, garage, and driveway. It has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two twin beds. A sunroom with a large bay window and original stained glass affords a cozy retreat in which to enjoy a cup of coffee or read a book. The living room provides ample seating and a smart TV with cable service (bring your own streaming device).i The bathroom features a full-size shower and tub. The kitchen has a dishwasher, a microwave, a full-sized oven and stove, a drip coffee maker, and a toaster oven. The unit has its own washer and dryer, beach chairs, umbrellas, and lots of toys. We even provide two large wagons to haul all your stuff and the kids to the beach!

As a family that has rented beach cottages for many years, we have done all we can to ensure that Blue Spruce Haven is fully equipped and that your week is fun, easy and comfortable. All you need to bring are your own beach towels!

Other amenities provided: two room air conditioners, ceiling fans, outdoor propane grill, kitchen supplies, linens and bath towels. A double-bed air mattress is also available for extra guests.

Activities: St. Joseph has it all! Swimming, sunsets, beach volleyball, kayak and paddleboard rentals, biking, fishing, hiking, golfing, sailing, and trolley rides. Walk to dining, shopping, museums, cafes, bakeries, fudge shops, ice cream parlors, and the new indoor, year-round farmers market that includes a variety of food and drink ideas, gift items, and more. The Howard Family Trail, perfect for walking, running, biking or bird watching, is just steps away. There are twice-weekly open-air concerts in the band shell.

St. Joe is the perfect Lake Michigan Vacation Spot.





Area events: Summer and fall festivals and events include Fourth of July concerts and fireworks, the Krasl Art Fair, Chalk the Block, Antiques on the Bluff (first Sunday of the month), Farmer's Market (every Saturday), outdoor Jazz Concerts, and the Tri-State Regatta and Sailing Festival. Boat owners can launch and slip their boats locally at two launches and three marinas.

For the adults, the area features lots of fine-dining restaurants, wine tasting at local wineries, numerous brew pubs and cideries, and a tour of the many distilleries in the region.
