The farm house and property are beautiful! The environment is really relaxing and it’s a very cozy home. Clean linens, towels, blankets, and cozy beds and couches. Our airline changed our flight so we only got in around 10pm, and the instructions to get into the place were incorrect, and we were combing through the property in total darkness in the cold with exhausted young children looking for what we needed to get in to the house to no avail. I couldn’t access wifi from outside to message the host (it’s a 3G network so it’s a weak connection) and we had to drive back in town to access wifi and cell phone reception. After a few messages and VRBO calling the host a few times, we reached the host who was helpful at that point in getting us in the home, but in all this took an hour to get inside after travelling across the country. There were 2 rolls of tp for 6 people for 5 days and I really had to dig to find hand soap (the dispensers were empty). The tub plug didn’t seal so I went into town to buy another (along with tp) and left it there for future guests to use. The wifi regularly went out so streaming things wasn’t very functional. For the cost paid it would make sense for the host to upgrade to 5g for sure. Having said that, the host was very nice and allowed us an extra 2 hours for a later check out. I do recommend this place, it is really cozy and the naturalization of the space is really beautiful and well done.

Thank you for your feedback! We’d like to clarify a few points for future guests. Our farmhouse has been equipped with high-speed fibre internet for over three years, providing reliable connectivity. As reflected in other reviews, many guests have successfully worked remotely from the property for extended periods without any issues. If you ever experience difficulty connecting to the Wi-Fi, we're always happy to help and respond promptly. We also keep extra toilet paper stocked at the farmhouse and are happy to direct guests to where it’s stored whenever needed. Finally, for guests arriving after dark, simply let us know your expected arrival time, and we'll gladly arrange to have the outdoor lights on to ensure a smooth and welcoming arrival. We take pride in providing a comfortable, well-equipped farmhouse and are always just a message away if our guests need anything during their stay!

Beautiful home and property. Very quiet location. Trail at back of property past gate is part of the Bruce Trail Escarpment. Pack water and food, and dress accordingly. Justin was a great host. Good communication, and helpful with all inquiries. Propert is only a 10 minute drive to Orangeville for any necessary conveniences, but we walked the local roads, sat outside under the wrap around porch and just relaxed. Would definately recommend staying at Justin's farmhouse property.

Quiet Country Home Close to City Amenities

Most important is our host, Justin, who always goes above and beyond. When we had a need to make our booking earlier, Justin made it happen. He was always quick to respond to questions and assist if and when needed. The quiet location made for beautiful walks down the country roads, but was a quick and convenient 10 minute drive to Orangeville. The beds were comfortable, the home well equipped, and stayed cool even during July/August. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it to anyone looking for peace and quiet.

Perfect for our annual get together

Fell in love with the property on first sight, much prettier than the pictures. The location is so peaceful and it feels isolated despite other properties nearby and it being just 15 minutes to Orangeville. The house is spacious and well equipped, everything you need in the kitchen for meal prep. The living room is wonderful with a great fireplace and view over the gardens. Outside there are seating areas on all sides so you can follow the sun or the shade depending on the time of year and at night the stars were amazing. We enjoyed exploring the grounds and did get into the woods but not all the way to the river, old knees and a broken toe making limitations. Lots of parks to explore in Orangeville and we really liked Mono Cliffs Provincial Park. The owner was very quick to answer any questions. We came away feeling very relaxed

Lovely Farmhouse in Tranquil Setting

This farmhouse was set back off the road in a very quiet peaceful setting. There was lots of green space and a meadow out the back leading to a hiking trail that meandered along a river (couldn't see it for the lush foliage but could hear the rushing water) The fire pit/patio area was nice as well as the large deck area with BBQ. Our weather was great and we sat outside and did some artwork. Inside the farmhouse were spacious areas to cook, have meals together, watch TV (we used our own Netflix), play board games or sit in front of the natural fireplace and read. Justin even supplied us with firewood which was so appreciated. The bedrooms upstairs were roomy, comfortable and beds were great. Bathroom was clean, large with a walk in shower and bathtub! We had everything we needed. The hiking in the area was awesome. I do hope the opportunity arises so we can return here.

Peaceful retreat

This was a lovely, rural, peaceful place to stay while attending a seminar in Orangeville, which was just a short drive away. Breakfast on the porch or looking out over the meadow was a good way to start the day. The grounds were nice to walk around, but sadly we were unable to get to either the river or the nearby waterfall because the hiking trails accessed from the property were steep and overgrown. The listing said "private sanctuary alongside rushing rivers, waterfalls, forested valleys, and the Bruce Trail" so we were a bit disappointed to not see a river or a waterfall even though we could hear them. The wifi was unreliable, but none of us were working during our stay so it wasn't a big issue for us. The house itself was spacious and comfortable, and despite not having A/C we weren't too hot on the August long weekend. We would happily stay there again.

Hi Alan, Thank you for the review. The trail down to the river and Bruce Trail can be found at the back of the property. We will make sure to update the instructions. The internet is being upgraded to the newly available fibre service in the coming weeks. We're all excited for faster wifi in this part of rural Ontario. Thank you for your visit and we would welcome you back anytime. Best, Justin

A magical place.

It’s a beautiful old-fashioned country house with all appliances up-to-date. The owners were friendly and helpful. The property is very large and beautiful, out of the view of other houses. I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed.

Mono Farmhouse

No better place for friends, family and two dogs to celebrate Thanksgiving out of the city. Cozy, comfortable home with fantastic views of the autumnal colours. Plus access to great walking trails down to the Hockley Valley.
